Abstract

This study aims to analyze factors related to fatigue. This research method is quantitative analytical with correlational descriptive preparation using a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that HB caused a low decline in condition, the leading risk factor for fatigue. Bivariate analysis showed there was no relationship between age and fatigue (p 0.902), there was a relationship between HB and fatigue (p 0.03), there was no relationship between BMI and fatigue (p 0.155), there was no relationship between length of treatment and fatigue (p 0.091), there is no relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. In conclusion, there is no relationship between the independent and dependent variables. Keywords: HB, Breast Cancer, Fatigue, Chemotherapy

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) therapy on reducing fatigue scores in HIV/AIDS patients. The research method uses a pre-post quasi-experimental design with a control group design. The study results showed that giving progressive muscle relaxation therapy to the intervention group decreased fatigue by 8.763 points, with a p-value of 0.000. In conclusion, advanced muscle relaxation therapy can be used as an intervention of choice to reduce fatigue conditions in HIV/AIDS patients for seven days, at least once a day, in the afternoon for 10-20 minutes per exercise, taking into account the factors of Hb levels, duration of ARV use, and psychological factors. Keywords: Fatigue, HIV/AIDS, Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Abstract

This study aims to prove the application of evidence-based nursing hand-held fan therapy for dyspnea in lung cancer patients. The method used was pre-experimental, with a sample size of 10 lung cancer patients. The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect of the application of hand-held fan therapy on dyspnea, respiratory rate, and SpO2 in lung cancer patients (p<0.05). In conclusion, hand-held fan therapy can reduce shortness of breath, reduce respiratory rate, and increase oxygen saturation in lung cancer patients. Abstract

Abstract

The high number of cancer patients indicates the need for breast cancer disease control. Various types of treatment include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and hormone therapy. Good resilience in cancer patients demonstrates their ability to adapt well to the ongoing treatment effects. Resilience refers to an individual's capacity to manage and overcome problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate the connection between different types of treatment and resilience in breast cancer patients. The research employs a quantitative, cross-sectional approach. Sample calculation used the Lemeshow proportion estimation formula, resulting in 112 respondents at RSUP Persahabatan, selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Respondent characteristics were assessed using observation sheets, and resilience was measured using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale 25 (CD-RISC 25) with a Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.892. All variables in this study are categorical; thus, chi-square analysis and, for contingency tables larger than 2x2 with predicted frequencies less than 5, Fisher's exact test were applied. Bivariate analysis results showed a significant relationship between the type of treatment and resilience in breast cancer patients, with a p-value of 0.002 (<0.05). Similarly, one of the respondent characteristics based on cancer stage showed a significant relationship with resilience, with a p-value of 0.016 (<0.05). The resilience of breast cancer patients undergoing treatment is very high, at 25.0%.

Abstract

Myalgia can be occured by side effect of chemotherapy. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of PMR against myalgia in lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. This study design was a quasi experiment, used pre and post test with control group. Samples were 32 patients, recruited by consecutive sampling. Measuring pain assessment used numeric rating scale. The intervention group had been provided PMR fifteen minutes twice a day for five days post chemotherapy. The results showed significantly different reduction of pain intensity before and after providing PMR in the intervention group and control group as well (p value = 0,001). There was a significantly different reduction of myalgia intensity between both group after giving intervention with mean difference 0,81 (p value = 0,001). It can be concluded that PMR can reduce myalgia in lung cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Suggestion, PMR becomes one of the complementary therapies to overcome myalgia
