Abstract

Branch of Muhammadiyah Tegalboto Kidul is a forum for Muhammadiyah da'wah activities within the scope of the village level. Muhammadiyah's space for movement is not only in religious activities, but in social, economic and other fields. The activity program of the Muhammadiyah branch of Tegal Boto Kidul which has been running so far is only in the routine study of recitation and social movements such as compensation for the needy. Activities related to economic development in branch members in particular and the surrounding community have generally not been carried out much. The purpose of this community service is to provide education to the community as a solution to limited land owned but still able to carry out fish farming and vegetable and fruit farming activities. This service aims to optimize the narrow land with a fish farming system in small media, does not require large areas, is cheap, is easily available media and technology that can be carried out by all groups of society at large. This service is expected to be a solution to the problem of limited land for fish cultivation, especially in cities, the problem of decreasing the availability of aquaculture and the problem of the need for fish animal protein in the community. The implementation of this community activity has been carried out during pandemic Covid-19 in Tegalboto Village, Sumbersari District, Jember Regency, including counseling, education and training on “budidakmber”, measuring the quality of cultivated water, measuring the weight of catfish.

Abstract

Ada dua jenis semangka yang dibudidayakan di Kabupaten Jember yaitu semangka panen buah dan semangka panen benih. Tujuan penelitian adalah: (1) mengetahui perbedaan biaya produksi, (2) mengetahui perbedaan keuntungan dan (3) menganalisis perbedaan efisiensi biaya semangka panen buah dan semangka panen benih di Kabupaten Jember. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif, komparatif dan deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian ada di 7 desa yaitu 3 desa di Kecamatan Puger, 3 desa di Kecamatan Gumukmas dan 1 desa di Kecamatan Kencong, pemilihan lokasi dilakukan secara Purposive. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Purposive Sampling untuk semangka panen buah dan Total Sampling untuk semangka panen benih. Total sampel sebanyak 76 terdiri dari 45 petani semangka panen buah dan 31 petani semangka panen benih. Metode analisis adalah uji z beda biaya produksi, keuntungan, dan efisiensi biaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) secara statistik terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara biaya produksi semangka panen buah dan semangka panen benih sebesar 0,000; (2) secara statistik terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara keuntungan semangka panen buah dan semangka panen benih sebear 0,000; (3) secara statistik terdapat perbedaan efisiensi biaya produksi yang signifikan antara semangka panen buah dan panen benih sebesar 0,000.

Abstract

Microsoft Word is also said to be a word processing program in the form of functional application software to facilitate writing or documents in various formats. Microsoft Word also has various types of features and artificial intelligence built into it which aim to make word processing easier and faster. Apart from that, in Microsoft Word there is also security which functions to protect the information contained in the document. Microsoft Word is equipped with various features and intelligence that aim to simplify and speed up word processing and maintain the security of information in documents. This research uses the library observation method with data from national and international scientific articles from 2011 to 2023, with databases from Google Scholar and DOAJ. Research results found that Microsoft Word features include: automatic script tracking, artificial intelligence, Track Changes, and information security. Intelligence built into Word, such as the Editor feature, provides editing suggestions and document improvements using machine learning. Track Changes records changes to documents, automated temporary reference management features such as Mendeley help and Reference Manager in quotes. Security features include new methods of using cryptography and steganography to protect document content.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to measure profit, cost efficiency, and profitability of fattening and rearing sheep farming using the stilt system in Sidomulyo Village, Silo District, Jember Regency. This research uses descriptive-analytic and survey methods. The research area is Sidomulyo Village, Silo District. The research object was sheep breeders with a stilt cage system with a total sample of 32 people. The data analysis method used is profit analysis, cost efficiency, and profitability. The results showed that the profit of fattening and rearing sheep farming using the stilt system in Sidomulyo Village, Silo District, Jember Regency was IDR 7,200,200 per 10 heads or an average of IDR 240,000 per month. The efficiency of farming costs for fattening and rearing sheep using the stilt pen system in Sidomulyo Village, Silo District, Jember Regency indicated by an R/C ratio of 1.97. This business is classified as efficient because it is higher than the assumed bank interest rate of 12% /year. The profitability of farming for fattening and rearing sheep using the stilt cage system in Sidomulyo Village, Silo District, Jember Regency was 41.56%. Based on this value, the business of fattening sheep was more profitable than saving money in a bank with an assumed bank interest rate of 12% /year.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat Universitas Muhammadiyah (UM) Jember merupakan salah satu program dalam mengatasi masalah-masalah sosial di masyarakat. Salah satu bidang unggulan dari Renstra Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat UM Jember adalah Pengembangan Model Peningkatan Ketahanan Dan Keamanan Pangan Berbasis Komoditas Lokal. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah transfer ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi kepada masyarakat mengenai alternatif solusi mengatasi keterbatasan lahan di masyarakat perkotaan agar tetap dapat melakukan kegiatan usaha budidaya ikan dengan memanfaatkan energi sinar matahari sebagai sistem aerasi. Optimalisasi lahan sempit yang dimiliki masyarakat perkotaan dengan sistem budidaya ikan dalam tempat yang kecil, tidak membutuhkan lahan luas, murah, mudah tersedia media dan teknologi yang dapat dilakukan oleh semua kalangan masyarakat secara luas. Dengan diterapkannya sistem program pengabdian ini diharapkan mampu menjadi solusi dari permasalahan masyarakat keterbatasan lahan budidaya ikan khususnya diperkotaan, harga kosumsi ikan semakin lama mengalami kenaikan, permasalahan penurunan ketersediaan budidaya perikanan dan permasalahan kebutuhan protein hewani ikan serta tingkat kesegaran ikan di masyarakat dan juga mampu mempererat hubungan antara UM Jember dengan masyarakat sebagai wujud nyata implementasi transfer teknologi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan masyarakat ini dilakukan di Ranting Muhammadiyah Tegalboto Kkidul, Desa Tegalboto Kidul, Kecamatan Sumbersari, Kabupaten Jember. Rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian ini meliputi penyuluhan, pendidikan dan pelatihan pembesaran ikan patin dalam drum horisontal menggunakan sistem aerasi tenaga surya, pengukuran kwalitas air budidaya, dan pengukuran berat ikan patin. Aplikasi panel surya sebagai sumber listrik yang ramah lingkungan dapat menjadi alternatif energi murah sebagai penggerak aerator dalam bubidaya ikan.

Abstract

Na-Oogst tobacco is one of the local commodities of Jember, which has been widely used as a raw material for making cigarettes. Product diversification in processing tobacco leaves is very necessary to reduce the danger caused by cigarette consumption. It is also an effort to empower and save the economy of tobacco farmers. Tobacco leaf’ essential oil could be an alternative in maintaining tobacco production. The purpose of this study is to determine the profile (yield and chemical compounds) of Na-Oogst tobacco leaf essential oil content in pre- and post-fermentation. Extraction of essential oils is carried out by two methods, i.e., steam distillation and maceration. The results showed that the extraction from the maceration method produced higher yields than from steam distillation, while the extract from tobacco leaves before fermentation was lower than that after fermentation. The major identified compounds found in tobacco leaves from GC-MS analysis are neophytadiene, nicotine, ledol, phytol, and solanone. Neophytadiene is suggested as a marker compound in tobacco leaf since it is present in all extracts and essential oils in significant amounts, about 23.72-67.37% of the total identified compounds. Further molecular docking of neophytadiene against the D2 dopamine receptor is also investigated in this study.
