Abstract

Abstract

Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) is one of the state universities that is currently actively developing educational facilities and infrastructure. Geologically, ITK is built on the Kampung Baru sedimentary rock formation, which has a low level of soil bearing capacity. This can cause damage to the building if the determination of the foundation depth does not have the right bearing data. The study aimed to determine the subsurface structure in the ITK campus area based on the speed of seismic wave propagation and to determine the distribution of subsurface hard rock layers in the ITK campus development area. The research methods used are field surveys, data acquisition, seismic wave recording data, travel time curves, 2D fast wave propagation models, and interpretation. The research results obtained the value of the first layer wave propagation velocity on tracks 1,2,3,4, and 5, ranging from 128.7 - 201.9 m/s. The second layer on tracks 1,2,3,4, and 5 ranged from 272.4 - 428.0 m/s. The research concludes that it can determine the subsurface structure based on the fast wave propagation value, geological conditions, and outcrop findings, namely the first layer in the form of soil and the second layer in the form of sand clay. Development can be carried out in the passive clay layer by laying the foundation

Abstract

This research uses the Naniura NRD300 HF tool to apply the Wenner-Schlumberger configuration geoelectric method which aims to determine the direction of distribution of iron sand, the volume of iron sand, and the Fe2O3 concentration of iron sand in the southern Paca beach area. The collected measurement results are then processed by RES2DINV software into a 2 Dimensional (2D) cross section which shows the distribution value of the subsurface layer as shown by a color image. After being saved in (.xyz) format, the RES2DINV software results are processed in RockWork software to create a pseudo-3D cross section. The RES2DINV software results show a resistivity value between 0,0761 – 3,59 Ωm which is identified as iron sand with a volume of 13,304 m3 at a depth of 2,50 – 9 meters from the surface of the datum point, while on track 2, the resistivity value ranges between 0,414 – 3,13 Ωm, and at a depth of 2,50 – 7 meters from the surface of the datum point with a volume reaching 12,883 m3 based on the results of the RockWork software. The distribution of iron sand deposits in the study area is from south to north. The method used to determine the composition of minerals present in a sample is called X-ray fluorescence (XRF). The results of the analysis of the Fe2O3 content in the first pass were 36,704% and in pass 2 it was 35,500%.

Abstract

Urban areas in Jakarta face significant pressure on clean water resources due to increasing population and anthropogenic activities. This research aims to conduct biomonitoring of the Situ Bambon Ciracas ecosystem, East Jakarta, by analyzing water quality and the community structure of macrozoobenthos, phytoplankton, and zooplankton as bioindicators. A descriptive quantitative method was used, involving measurements of water physical-chemical parameters (TDS, TSS, pH, BOD, COD, Total-P) and identification of aquatic biota. The results indicate that the water quality of Situ Bambon Ciracas is lightly to moderately polluted, dominated by organic compounds. BOD (5−34.67 mg/L) and COD (17.05−193.56 mg/L) values consistently exceeded the Class 3 water quality standards, and TDS showed an increasing trend. The biota community structure reflects these conditions: macrozoobenthos showed moderate diversity (H′=1.2, E=0.6). Phytoplankton (H′=3.12−3.2, E=0.74−0.76) and zooplankton (H′=2.11−2.16, E=0.76−1.95) showed high diversity and evenness, but were dominated by bioindicator species tolerant to organic pollution (e.g., Oscillatoria sp., Nitzschia sp., Colpoda sp., Closterium sp.). The positive correlation between the abundance of these bioindicator species and high BOD and COD confirms organic waste as the main driver of ecological change. In conclusion, the Situ Bambon Ciracas ecosystem is under significant anthropogenic pressure. The dominance of pollution-tolerant species, despite existing diversity, highlights the urgency of comprehensive management and restoration efforts to maintain the sustainability of this urban lake.
