Abstract

ILS equipment is one of the landing navigational aids using radio waves as an instrument (non-visual) which is used by pilots in carrying out aircraft approach and landing procedures at an airport. The problem is the Instrument Landing System (ILS) on the Glide Path (GP) equipment on Runway 36. Glide Path has a monitor that functions to monitor the signal to be emitted by the antenna, the signal to be monitored is processed by the detector module, there are 3 detectors including COURSE CSB detector, COURSE SBO detector, and CLEARANCE detector. The signal coming from the antenna will be detected (sampled) by each detector and then forwarded to the monitor module for processing and the results are displayed on the PMDT (Portable Maintenance Data Terminal) monitor. When the value of the monitor reading exceeds the limit of the tolerance value that has been set, a pre-alarm / alarm will occur. The results obtained that the Clearance detector module on the panel box monitoring combining network connected to the monitor reading was damaged, so replacing the detector module and resetting the selectors on the panel box as well as calibrating and normalizing are the problem-solving steps.

Abstract

Voice Communication Control System (VCCS) is a tool designed to make it easier for users to communicate voice by integrating all users (clients) and means of communication in one system and controlled using a control panel. VCCS is a voice switching device used in VHF A / G and Direct Speech communications. The benefit of using VCCS is that when the user makes flight communication it becomes easy because all frequencies and telephones are combined in a VCU (Voice Control Unit) so that the ATC desk/work desk is not filled with communication devices. In addition, to facilitate its use, the VCCS client control panel uses a touch screen system. AirNav Indonesia Manado Branch has a LESS brand VCCS equipment server manufactured by China. VCCS consists of two main parts, namely the server and client. The server is a processing center and control center for switching input and output, while the client or VCU (Voice Control Unit) is the device used by the user in VCCS operations. There are 7 VCUs at AirNav Indonesia Manado which are placed in the Tower room (3 VCU), APP room (3 VCU), and FSS Kompen room (1 VCU).

Abstract

The efficacy of self-regulated learning in the context of language acquisition has been widely acknowledged. This study demonstrates the impact of self-regulated learning on the enhancement of students' speaking abilities. Within the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL), the act of speaking is commonly regarded as a formidable undertaking that necessitates the utilization of various actions, skills, and strategies to attain effective communication. Digital portfolios have a significant impact on language learning as they encompass learners' actions, skills, and strategies in classroom planning. This research investigated the influence of self-regulation processes on students' performance in speaking tasks in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes at Politeknik Penerbangan Jayapura. The primary outcomes that were observed encompassed the phases of anticipation, realization, and reflection in speaking tasks. The findings of the study indicate that individuals who possess self-regulatory skills can effectively communicate when they possess a comprehensive understanding of the task at hand and can regulate their actions accordingly.

Abstract

This study seeks to gauge the implementation, effectiveness, and lecturers’ perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) integration in teaching at Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar, Indonesia. A mixed-methods approach was employed, utilizing Likert-scale questionnaires to measure implementation and effectiveness, and open-ended questionnaires to assess lecturers’ perceptions. The quantitative findings indicate that AI implementation is generally effective (mean = 4.00), with institutional policies and opportunities for student innovation being key factors, while infrastructure presents an obstacle. Qualitative results indicate that lecturers view AI as a transformative tool for enhancing teaching efficiency, providing instant and consistent feedback, and fostering creativity and collaboration. However, despite its benefits, lecturers emphasize the essential nature of human guidance, such as contextual feedback, emotional support, or ethical oversight. The novelty of the study’s approach lies in its focus on vocational higher education, a subject that has relatively little empirical evidence, and demonstrates how the introduction of AI can supplement rather than replace pedagogues’ work in learning. The implications of the findings provide practical guidance for policymakers and educators seeking more comprehensive institutional policies, targeted faculty development, and investment in technological infrastructure to leverage AI in teaching and learning effectively.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force in higher and vocational education, yet its rapid adoption often outpaces existing legal and institutional frameworks. This study investigates how Indonesia’s regulatory landscape supports the integration of AI in teaching and learning at Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar (Poltekbang Makassar), and identifies the legal, ethical, and governance challenges shaping responsible innovation.Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research combines document analysis of key national policies (such as the National Education System Law 2003, Presidential Regulation No. 95/2018, and the National AI Strategy 2020–2045) with semi-structured interviews involving five lecturers and two academic policymakers. Data were analyzed thematically. The results reveal that while Indonesia’s legal foundations implicitly support AI adoption through broader digital transformation policies, significant regulatory gaps persist, particularly concerning algorithmic transparency, accountability, and data privacy. Institutional policies at Poltekbang Makassar demonstrate readiness for technological innovation but lack comprehensive AI governance mechanisms. The study proposes a multi-level regulatory model encompassing national policy formulation, sectoral alignment within vocational standards, and internal institutional governance frameworks to ensure accountability, fairness, and compliance. These findings contribute to the development of an Institutional AI Governance Framework based on principles of accountability, transparency, and compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law, offering a practical roadmap for policymakers and educational leaders in Indonesia’s vocational sector. Keywords: Artificial Intelligence (AI), AI Governance, Vocational Education, Poltekbang Makassar, Algorithmic Accountability
