Abstract

Children's scientific knowledge is still underdeveloped, this is due to several factors including the learning process is rarely done outside the classroom. Then encourage educators to develop it through the Approach method of Environmental Exploration Approach. The Environmental Exploration Approach Method is one of the methods used to develop children's science knowledge. This study aims to develop children's science knowledge through an environmental exploration approach method. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which focuses on classroom situations. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion in cycle I and cycle II, it can be concluded that the exploration approach method for the surrounding environment can develop children's science knowledge in group B in TK Tumbuh Kembang Anak Makassar. This can be seen from the increase in children's science knowledge, students who develop very well in the first cycle with indicators that children can explore the surrounding environment reaching 27.27%, while the indicator of children being able to name the objects observed in the environment reaches 18.18%. Then in cycle II, the indicator of children being able to explore the surrounding environment reached 81.81%, while the indicator of children being able to name the objects observed in the environment reached 81.81%.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan daya ingat anak usia dini di TK Bina Kasih melalui penggunaan media kartu angka. Metode yang digunakan meliputi kegiatan pembelajaran interaktif dengan pendampingan dari guru, serta keterlibatan orang tua dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran di rumah. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan anak mengenali dan mengingat angka, menyusun urutan angka secara mandiri, serta mempercepat waktu pengingatan. Selain itu, anak-anak juga mengalami perkembangan dalam keterampilan sosial, seperti berkolaborasi dalam kelompok. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan daya ingat anak melalui media visual yang menarik. Rekomendasi yang diberikan meliputi penggunaan media pembelajaran yang lebih beragam, pendampingan intensif bagi anak yang memerlukan, pelatihan guru, dan evaluasi berkala. Pengembangan program ini diharapkan dapat diperluas ke kelas-kelas lain untuk memberi manfaat yang lebih luas di TK Bina Kasih

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of vapor candle experiments in improving critical thinking skills in early childhood at RA Mardhati, Makassar. Early childhood education plays an important role in children's cognitive, social and emotional development. Critical thinking skills, such as analysis and problem solving, need to be developed early on. Based on observations at RA Mardhati, the critical thinking skills of group A children are still less than optimal, so a more interactive learning method is needed. The steam candle experiment was chosen because it allows children to observe the physical changes of the candle, stimulating them to ask questions, make hypotheses, and analyze the results. This research used descriptive qualitative method with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, presentation, verification, and triangulation. The results showed that the vapor candle experiment effectively improved children's critical thinking skills. Of the 15 participants, 70% experienced significant improvement, with 47.33% in the Developing As Expected (BSH) category and 24.33% Developing Very Well (BSB). The experiment not only improved cognitive skills but also introduced a spiritual dimension by linking natural phenomena, making a significant contribution to science-based learning methods in ECD.

Abstract

This dissertation aims to: (1) Describe teachers' pedagogical competence at Raudhatul Atfhal in designing and implementing educational activities using Science Technology Society (STS); (2) Analyze the use of technology and communication through STS; (3) Evaluate students' learning outcomes based on teachers' pedagogical competence. This qualitative research uncovers the pedagogical competence of RA teachers in applying STS, using observations, interviews, and documentation. Four teachers from RA Mardhati and Hasirah Home School participated. Data analysis followed steps of condensation, presentation, and conclusion. Findings show that RA Mardhati and Hasirah teachers demonstrate strong competence in planning, implementing, utilizing ICT, and evaluating learning outcomes. Teachers at RA Mardhati create supportive and dynamic learning environments, while Hasirah teachers plan structured lessons through daily and weekly plans. The use of ICT (e.g., Wi-Fi, laptops) enhances the learning process, making it more engaging and interactive. Teachers evaluate learning daily and report progress comprehensively, focusing on both process and outcomes. The implications emphasize the need for continued development of pedagogical competence. RA institutions should support teacher training to adapt teaching methods to students' needs. Teachers are encouraged to enhance professionalism through external training. Future research should explore deeper variations of methods to provide a more comprehensive understanding of pedagogical competence at RA.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan sosial emosional anak melalui pembentukan karakter menggunakan media kartu hati di RA Ihya Al-Ulum 1 Universitas Islam Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dengan melibatkan 10 anak kelompok B sebagai subjek penelitian. Dalam proses pembelajaran, setiap anak diberikan kartu hati yang berfungsi untuk menilai perilaku mereka. Jika anak tidak mematuhi aturan atau menunjukkan perilaku yang kurang baik, guru memberikan titik hitam pada kartu hati, sementara perilaku yang positif diberi simbol hati cerah atau bintang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada indikator kepatuhan terhadap aturan, kemampuan mendengarkan arahan guru, empati terhadap teman, dan pengendalian emosi. Pada siklus pertama, sebagian besar anak menunjukkan perkembangan ke kategori "Mulai Berkembang" (MB), dengan 30% anak mencapai kategori "Berkembang Sesuai Harapan" (BSH). Pada siklus kedua, 80% anak mencapai kategori "Berkembang Sesuai Harapan" (BSH) dan 10% anak mencapai "Berkembang Sangat Baik" (BSB), dengan tingkat keberhasilan keseluruhan mencapai 90%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media kartu hati dapat menjadi strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam membina sosial emosional anak usia dini. Umpan balik yang diberikan secara langsung melalui media ini membantu anak memahami dan memperbaiki perilaku mereka dengan cara yang menyenangkan dan bermakna. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan metode pembelajaran berbasis karakter, khususnya dalam konteks pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how the implementation of traditional games supports the social and emotional development of early childhood children at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Jatia, Gowa Regency.This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method.The subjects of the study include the school principal, classroom teachers, and students.Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive picture of the implementation of traditional games in learning activities.The study findings indicate that traditional games play a crucial role in shaping children's social and emotional skills.After participating in traditional games, children learn to follow rules, cooperate in groups, and understand the concepts of sharing and effective communication.In addition, these games help children manage their emotions, boost their self-confidence, and build better social relationships with their peers.The implementation of traditional games at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal is carried out in a structured manner through learning planning, from annual programs to daily implementation plans.Therefore, this study emphasizes that traditional games can be an effective learning method in supporting early childhood development, and thus need to be continuously implemented and developed in children's education curricula.
