Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of the application of the Scrabble game in learning English to know the increase in the vocabulary of the Al-Irsyad Quran House Lappa using the Scrabble game. The researchers use the quantitative methods, through techniques random sampling and focused on one group. The type of research is pre-experimental design. Through the application of pre-test and post-test designs. The instrument used in this research is a short objective test with a total of 10 items that have been randomized through content validity because the preparation of the instrument is adjusted to the material taught to students. Students experienced a significant increase in the vocabulary category as evidenced before the pretest, more students were included in the Enough category as many as 11 students or 44%, while in Excellent and Very good categories, there were only 2 students each who proved their vocabulary mastery was still low. After applying the Scrabble game, students experienced an increase, it can be seen in the Insufficient category that there were no more students who got a score of 60. This increased in the Excellent and Very Good categories which initially only 2 students, after the post-test the Excellent category was 11 students or (44% ) funds in the Very Good category were 7 students (28%) of 25 students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai kemandirian peserta didik denganmenggunakan model pembelajaran Advance Organizer pada mata pelajaran pendidikanagama Islam kelas XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 9 Kabupaten Sinjai. Penelitian ini adalah penelitiantindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang melibatkan peserta didik kelas XI IPS 2SMA Negeri 9 Kabupaten Sinjai sebagai subjek. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasidan angket dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi peserta didik dan lembarangket/respon peserta didik terhadap tindakan yang dilakukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa Penggunaan model pembelajaran Advance Organizer pada mata pelajaranpendidikan agama Islam kelas XI IPS 2 SMA Negeri 9 Kabupaten Sinjai, dapat meningkatkannilai kemandirian peserta didik. Ini dapat diukur berdasarkan hasil observasi dan lembarangket yang diisi pada siklus I dan siklus II, dimana pada siklus I hasil observasipeningkatan nilai kemandirian peserta didik yaitu 49,56%, kemudian pada siklus IIobservasi peningkatan nilai kemandirian peserta didik yaitu 86,31%. Jadi kemampuanpeningkatan nilai kemandirian peserta didik berdasarkan hasil observasi dari siklus I kesiklus II meningkat sebanyak 36,75%. Adapun hasil lembar angket yang diisi oleh masingmasing peserta didik pada siklus I mencapai rata-rata 68,50%, kemudian pada siklus II hasillembar angket peserta didik mencapai rata-rata 84,42%. Jadi kemampuan peningkatan nilaikemandirian peserta didik berdasarkan hasil angket dari siklus I ke siklus II meningkatsebanyak 15,92%. Adanya peningkatan nilai kemandirian peserta didik menunjukkanefektifnya model pembelajaran Advance Organizer digunakan pada mata pelajaranpendidikan agama Islam

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Project Based Learning (PjBL) strategy assisted by Electronic Media in increasing learning motivation and Science Process Skills (KPS) on the material “Heat Transfer”. The study used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest experimental design with 59 students. The experimental group was taught using the PjBL strategy while the control group was taught with a conventional strategy that was teacher-centred. Learning motivation is measured using questionnaires distributed to students, and KPS is measured through observation using observation sheets. The results, average score of KPS with the PjBL strategy = 86.33, the conventional strategy = 74.52; the average score of learning motivation with PjBL strategy = 78.05, conventional strategy = 69.49. Conclude from this data that the use of the PjBL based on e-media strategy is effective and influences the improvement of KPS and learning motivation of elementary school students.

Abstract

As the students raised in the internet era, it is urged to serve them different kinds of study approach that involve the students as the core of the study, especially for those who learn in university. This research involved heutagogical approach to observe the way students explore their own learning style by using Youtube specific channel, Remotivi, that provides the students the different sides of mainstream media. This research aims to find out the application of heutagogical approach on English Education 7th-semester students who took English for Journalism subject which is an optional subject. This research is a qualitative study with a narrative descriptive approach that was conducted in English Education students of Islamic Institute of Muhammadiyah Sinjai. The data analysis technique is based on Miles and Huberman theory with observation sheets, interview guide, and documentation as instruments of collecting data. The results showed that 31 students who took English for Journalism subject and used Remotivi as their study resource could widen their perspective about journalism and encourage them to stay vigilant about stereotypes of what mainstream media have framed out. The students also found that heutagogical approach in this subject helped them to vary their way to study because they become delighted to absorb new information in different learning styles by the enchanting visual presentation of Remotivi channel. Abstract

The study aimed to find out the functions of code switching used by the lecturer and the students during group presentation, and the lecturer and the students’ perception toward the use of code switching in EFL classroom during group presentation. This study is a qualitative research design. The subjects of the study were an English lecturer and three students in second semester of STKIP Muhammadiyah Bone, which were taken through convenience sampling technique. The data of this study were collected by employing classroom observation and interview. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by using three steps, namely reducing, describing, and classifying. The result of the research showed that the lecturer employed code switching in EFL classroom during the students’ group presentation for some functions, namely to emphasize the important point, to reinforce a request, to ease of expression, to change of attitude relationship, checking for students’ understanding, lapses, self-correction, and speech connective. To emphasize the important point and reinforce a request became most frequently used by the lecturer. There were five functions of code switching used by the students during group presentation, namely to emphasize the important point, to suit the domain knowledge, to reinforce a request, to change of attitude relationship, and to self-correction. To suit the domain knowledge became the most frequently used by the students. The lecturer and the students’ perception towards the use of code switching in EFL classroom during group presentation were mostly positive. The lecturer and the students need code switching in teaching and learning English because it can make them easy to understand and comprehend from the material given. Code switching also effective in enlarging the students’ vocabulary, helped them to learn English, made them be more active in classroom interaction and influenced their fluency in speaking English.

Abstract

Abstrac There are several facts that make Islamic boarding schools as a place to develop radical ideas in Indonesia, so the authors conducted research at the Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School Biroro, East Sinjai District. This place once carried out an extreme enforcement of Islamic law in Sinjai Regency, which was spearheaded by the Joint Forum for the Mass Movement (FORBES GAMAS). Forcing the will to be followed to fight for the Islamic law. Where this mass prioritizes punishment for thieves, alcohol drinkers, and gamblers without the legal process that applies in Indonesia. On the other hand, it is very contrary to the values ​​that have been practiced by the Prophet in Medina. The purpose of this study is to find out the application of the values ​​of the Medina Charter at the Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School and to Know the Strategy to Prevent Radicalism at the Darul Istiqamah Islamic Boarding School. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with a sociological approach. The sources of data in this study were obtained from interviews with students, managers and teachers of the Darul Istiqamah Biroro Islamic Boarding School and the surrounding community. Data collection techniques used in collecting research data are interviews, observations and documentation. The Darul Istiqamah Biroro Islamic Boarding School teaches early on the values ​​of the Medina Charter to its students by applying the practice directly in the lives of the surrounding community, namely by helping residents or congregations in need. students are taught to help each other, tolerance, respect for others, mutual cooperation and so on. To uphold equality or brotherhood. Radicalism is trying to be avoided as much as possible by the management of the Darul Istiqamah Biroro Islamic Boarding School by enlightening the messages during religious studies that radical ideas are very much against the teachings of Islam and the constitution in force in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Abstract

Desa Bulu Tanah dalam pengertian bahasa Bugis Bone merupakan gunung yang terdiri dari tanah pegunungan yang berdiri kokoh dan diapit oleh Desa Raja, Desa Bulu Tanah dan Desa Abumpugeng. Kondisi keagamaan di desa Bulu Tanah dapat digambarkan berdasarkan sarana peribadatan yang ada, pelaksanaan kegiatan dan toleransi kehidupan beragama, sarana peribadatan di desa Bulu Tanah terdiri dari 7 buah masjid. Metode implementasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian penulis ini menggunakan metode Participatiory Action Research (PAR). Alasan penulis menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research adalah untuk mendapatkan perubahan yang diinginkan pada suatu daerah. Objek Kuliah Kerja Nyata Profesional bagi penulis adalah seluruh bendahara masjid yang ada di desa Bulu Tanah.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to find out whether or not mind map through picture canimproves students’ vocabulary mastery. To analyze the data, a pre-experimentaldescriptive quantitative design was employed. It involves seventh graders class in aschool at Libureng in academic year 2010/2011 with number of students, 30 students(15 males and 15 females). In collecting the data, the present study used pre-test andpost-test as the instrument then calculated them by using normality, validity, reliability,gain test and t-test. The findings show that the value of t-obtained was 11,82 and thevalue of t-table at significance level of 5% was 2,045 with the degree of freedom(df=29). The result of t-obtained (11,82) indicates that H0 is rejected and consequentlythe H1 is accepted. It means that the use of mind map method can improves students’vocabulary mastery. The students claim that this method offers interesting learning,challenge creativity, and serves new simple method to memorize some vocabularies. So,it is recommended for further researcher to conduct a research for other skills andother methods.

Abstract

This research aims to know the problem of what is the students’ perception toward E-Learning at English Education Study Program of IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai, especially during the pandemic era. The researchers use the descriptive qualitative method in this research. The population in this research were all students in English Education Study Program, Academic Year 2017/2018 of Faculty Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai that consist of 34 people. While the sample of this research is also 34 people by using Total Sampling technique. Technique of collection data that used in this research were interview, coding, classifying, and documentation. The result of this research showed that most of the students thought that the use of E-Learning in pandemic era was negative perceptions. These negative perception caused by some reasons, namely: the limitation of network and internet quotes; unsupportive facilities, such as laptop and gadget or handphone; limited time in interacting with lecturers.

Abstract

The implementation of the activities uses the participatory action research (PAR) method. The goal is to improve the skills of parents in carrying out care and upbringing in their own families and explain to parents about the process of good child education. As for the object of the real professional work course (KKNP) for the author for 2 months, namely parents. In parenting training activities in realizing a sakinah mawaddah mawahmah family in Desa Bulu Tanah, Kec. Kajuara, Kab. Bone. Parenting training is held once during KKN-P. The place is located in the Fastabiqul Khairat Mosque in Dusun Cangkano.
