Abstract

Abstract This research explores the marriage preparation for Muslim women (Muslimah) in Indonesia by analysing perceptions found in news articles. The study focuses on understanding Muslimah’s perspectives on marriage preparation, the factors influencing their decisions, and their views on their household roles. Content analysis is employed to identify primary patterns in news articles discussing marriage preparation for Muslimah; researchers use emotional geography as an analysis tool. The research findings reveal a diversity of viewpoints, with some pieces highlighting the religious, cultural, and social aspects that influence marriage preparation. These findings can provide further insights into the demands and expectations Muslimah faces in the context of Indonesia’s marriage. The findings highlight the importance of awareness, patience, communication, individual growth, and mutual respect in fostering healthy and fulfilling connections, particularly within the context of marriage and interpersonal relationships within the Islamic framework. Abstract

There are six characteristics that can not be taught, only modeled, they are Caring, Fairness and Respect, Attitude toward the Teaching Profession, Social Interaction with Students, Promotion of Enthusiasm and Motivation for Learning, Reflective Practice. The aspect of teacher as a person is only one of six aspects that should be modeled and demonstrate to the students. But, this aspect is going to be left by teachers in this era. It will be monotonous teacher as a leader and messenger in holding the whole class of teaching-learning activity. Furthermore, in this research, the writer wants to explore and find out what are actually the problems of this issue. The research was done in SMK Visi Global in Banyuwangi and took 6 teachers as an object of research. The writer used descriptive qualitative and describing the phenomenon of this. Indeed, the result was Fairness and Respect, Attitude toward Teaching Profession, Enthusiasm, and Motivation for Learning, and Reflective Practice got above average but Caring, Social Interaction with Students got below average.  This issue described that the teachers in SMK Visi Global were not enlightened by a good teacher as a person and it would be ineffective for the school and students itself. It can be concluded that preparing teacher?s personality is unavoidable for the professional teacher, in this era or future.

Abstract

This research was intended to investigate the gender stereotype of thetextbook drawn from an English textbook series used in senior highschool employing a multimodal perspective and critical visual analysis.The study used a descriptive design because the writer wanted to describethe gender stereotype of the English textbook. The object of this study isthe Bahasa Inggris (edisi revisi 2017) textbook. The results of data analysisusing used three aspects of Kress and Van Leeuwen namelyrepresentational meaning, interactive meaning, and compositionalmeaning, the focus of the analysis was on images consisting of malecharacters and women use the theory of "critical visual analysis" and theconversation at the picture analyzed using critical discourse analysis(CDA). For the purpose of this study, there are five images selectedaccording to research on gender stereotypes and these images consist ofrandom male and female characters in images. The corollary of thiscritical image analysis was the teacher can know that the textbook is amedium that can trap students in interpreting images and selection ofimages in language textbooks must be more careful.

Abstract

Indonesia Pilot Academy utilizes language as an impactful tool to affect people’s perceptions. An electronic website is becoming increasingly vital for academy and candidate cadets by employing language as information and representation. The portrayal of Indonesia Pilot Academy represents the use of linguistic representation on the website and the contribution of this to understanding the overlapping factors that reinforce academic practices within the Indonesia flight-social structure. There are unanswered questions related to the study comparing and analyzing the diverse discourses used to represent Indonesia flight academy on its website regarding social constructs (e.g., gender and race). Then, the study aims to determine website language represented as academic quality, product, and social construct.The data was taken from the website of the academy. To that end, critical discourse analysis (CDA) is utilized to describe, analyze, and interpret the textual and visual representations of the Indonesia Pilot Academy website at the local, institutional, and societal levels. What is surprising is that the academy should encourage global political involvement with promotional discourse and visual images. This finding has important implications for fostering international promotional discourse and pictures to emphasize prestige and uniqueness.

Abstract

Learning in Far-flung area is never easy for students to run out their semester-period for over time. Indeed, Covid-19 outbreak limited them to directly learning in face-to-face mode, moreover, the internet access tried to support distance-learning. On the contrary, the students were challenging to link with the internet connection because of the signal, however, they need to struggle out with this unprecedented covid-19 outbreak. Using a qualitative research method, three students who lived in far-flung area were interviewed and the interviews were transcribed verbatim, then analyzed by using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA).This study describes the process of the students- struggles, students-adaptation, and the implication for future distance-learning that will be discussed.
