Abstract

Personal hygiene is important for the health of adolescent girls. Video counseling is effective in improving hygiene knowledge, especially due to its easy access and good visualization. The research method used an experimental design with one group of adolescent girls aged 13-18 years from junior high school. Hygiene knowledge was measured before and after video counseling. The research results showed a significant increase in hygiene knowledge after the video intervention. This indicates the effectiveness of video counseling in raising awareness among adolescent girls about personal hygiene. In conclusion, video counseling is effective in enhancing hygiene knowledge among adolescent girls. Recommendations for health counseling include using engaging and effective video media.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a gynecological problem that requires good, appropriate and comprehensive treatment. One of the treatments to reduce dysmenorrhea is by doing yoga. Objective: Knowing the effect of yoga training Butterfly Pose, Child Pose, Cat and Cow Pose on the intensity of primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in level I female students (first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year) at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang Dormitory. The research method used True Experimental Design with Pretest - Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were level I students (first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year) at the Polytechnic Dormitory of the Ministry of Health Semarang who experienced dysmenorrhea and with Purposive Sampling technique obtained a sample of 30 students. The research instrument used a standardized Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) checklist. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed the initial measurement of primary dysmenorrhea intensity (mean experimental group = 6.13 and mean control group = 4.80), the final measurement of primary dysmenorrhea intensity (mean experimental group = 4.40 and mean control group = 5.53). There is a difference in the intensity of primary dysmenorrhea in the initial measurement and the final measurement of the data of the experimental group and the control group with a significance of <0.05. In conclusion, there is an effect of yoga training Butterfly Pose, Child Pose, Cat and Cow Pose on the intensity of primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in level I female students at the Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang Dormitory. The existence of this research is expected to be able to add insight and knowledge related to yoga as one of the non-pharmacological treatments for primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) and the application of yoga can be a solution to solving health problems, especially in female students who experience primary menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea). Tujuan : Mengetahui pengaruh training yoga Butterfly Pose, Child Pose, Cat and Cow Pose terhadap intensitas nyeri haid (dismenore) primer pada mahasiswi tingkat I (semester I tahun ajaran 2022/2023) di Asrama Poltekkes Kemenkes Semarang.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy remains a major public health concern in Indonesia, with a prevalence of 37.1% reported in 2020. Despite ongoing iron supplementation programs, mild anemia continues to occur, potentially leading to maternal and neonatal complications. Mobile health applications offer innovative opportunities to enhance maternal knowledge and self-monitoring practices. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a prototype of a mobile-based anemia education application for pregnant women. A pre-experimental study involving 30 pregnant women aged 31–43 years at Puskesmas Ngesrep, Semarang, was conducted. Hemoglobin (Hb) levels were measured and participants were guided to use the application, which included features such as anemia information, Hb input, automatic anemia classification, and prevention tips. Results showed that 90% of respondents had normal Hb levels, while 10% experienced mild anemia. Feedback on the application was overwhelmingly positive: 100% of respondents agreed the application was easy to use, informative, visually appealing, and helpful in understanding anemia, with willingness to use it again. These findings align with previous studies emphasizing the role of mobile health tools in maternal education. The study concludes that the application has strong potential for further development, particularly in content enhancement and interactive features. The prototype reached Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4–5, validating the system in a limited setting. This work contributes to advancing digital maternal health solutions in Indonesia.
