Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the influence variation in application RSS, SBR and PBN of Rubber gutter Compound to physical properties in tear resistance and hardness. Rubber gutter Compound is made from natural Rubber (RSS) wich be mixed by sintetics Rubber (RSS) and addition of ingredients such as : softener, activator filler antioxidant, accelerator and vulcanizing agent. It should be carried out using base formula  by varying RSS/SBR 40/ 60; 50/50; 60;40 part and PBN 1; 1,5 and 2 part. Statistically prove that variation in application RSS/SBR and PBN influenced physical properties of the result test. The application RSS/SBR 60/40 part PBN 1,5 part will give the best compound with the tear resistance 11,05N/mm2 and hardness 72,33 Shore A. INTISARI               Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh RSS dengan SBR dan PBN terhadap ketahan sobek dan kekrasan kompon talang karet. Kompon talang karet dibuat dari karet alam dan karet sintetis dengan ditambahkan bahan- bahan pembantu seperti bahan pelunak, pengaktif, pengisi anti oksidan, pencepat, dan zat pemvulkanisasi. Pembuatan kompon tersebut dikerjakan dengan formulasi sebagai berikut : RSS/SBR : 40/60; 50/50; 60/40 bagian PBN : 1; 1,5 ; 2 bagian. Setelah diuji ternyata secara perhitungan statistik variasi penggunaan RSS/SBR 60/40 bagian PBN berpengaruh terhadap sifat-sifat fisis kompon tersebut. Kompon yang paling baik sifat-sifat fisisnya adalah kompon yang menggunakan RSS/SBR  60/40 bagian dari PBN 1,5 bagian dengan hasil uji ketahanan sobek 11,05N/mm2 dan kekerasan 172,33 Shore A.

Abstract

This research is an experiment which use plastic material for making enternit. The plastic material is made of PVC resin 100 phr. by adding ingredients DOP 35 phr., EPO 5 phr., BaCdZn 3.5 phr., Stearic Acid 0.75 phr., CaCO3 varied 50-90 phr., and fibre of banana stem 20-40 phr. The experiment result proved that the PVC plastic material can made enternit sheet. The optimum value of physical properties is achiven by the PVC compound which using CaCO3 90 phr. and banana stem 40 phr.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know influence of plasticizer Dioctyl Phtalat (DOP) and blowing agent Azodicarbonamide (ADCM) to the physical properties of abrasive resistant and density PVC compound for sole. It makes from PVC suspension EH 1000 as raw material with addition ingredients are DOP, epoxy plasticizer oil, Ba Cd Zn complex stabilizer, kicker, stearic acid and ADCM blowing agent. PVC compound for sole, formed to slab by hydraulic press at 170oC and than tested density and abrasive resistant. The result of this reseach indicated that DOP and blowing agent ADCM variation are high significant to density and abrasive resistant properties of PVC compound for sole.   INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi Dioctyl Phtalat dan bahan pengembang (bowing agent) Azodicarbonamide terhadap sifat fisis ketahanan kikis dan berat jenis kompon sol PVC. Kompon sol PVC dibuat dari bahan baku Poly Vinly Chlorida jenis suspension EH 1000 ditambah dengan ingredient-ingredient antara lain plasticizer Dioktyl phtalat, epoxy plasticizer oil Ba Cd Zn kompleks, kickr, asam steart dan bahan pengembangan Azodicarbonamide. Kompon sol PVC dibuat menjadi bentuk slab dengan alat hidrolik press, pada suhu 170oC. kompon yang didapat diukur Berat Jenisnya kemudian diuji sifat ketahanan kikisnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi DOP dan blowing agent Azodicarbonamide (ADCM) berpengaruh nyata terhadap sifat ketahanan kikis dan berat jenis kompon sol PVC.

Abstract

DOP (Dioctyl Phtalate) is a chemical substance which its function as plasticizer in PVC compound preparation, while the function of fibre of banana stem (musaceae) is a filler. The used of banana stem in this research can improve impact resistance of the compound as well.So the addition of DOP and fibre of banana stem influnces the properties of impact resistance and hardness.The optimum value of impact resistance (23,12 kgcm/cm) is archived by the PVC compound which using DOP 50% and banana stem 40%, and the optimum value of hardness (65 shore D) is achived by using DOP 30% and banana stem 50%.

Abstract

DOP Plasticizer is a chemical substance which its function is to increase the plasticity of PVC compound slab.By adding DOP plasticizer can imporoves the impact resistance properties and decrease the hardness of slab. The utilization of 30% DOP results the greatest impact resistance (6,1016 kg/cm), and the hardness 55 shore A of PVC coumpund slab produced by this experiment.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know influence of plasticizer naphtenic oil to the physical properties of tensile strength and elongation at break of rubber compound for cowmats. It makes from Rubber Smoke Sheet (RSS) and Styrene Butadiene Rubber 1502 (SBR) as raw material with addition ingredients are Calcium Carbonate, FEF black, Stearic Acid, Zinc Oxide, Plasticizer Naphtenic  Oil, Paraffine Wax, TMT, CBS, AOSP and Sulphur as Vulcanizing agent. Rubber compound for cowmats, formed to slab by hydraulic press at 1500C and 150 Kg/cm2. Than tested tensile strength and elongation at break. The result of this research indicated that platicizer naphtenic oil (x) and tensile strength have regression equation as Y1 = 24.168 – 0.634 X (r = 0.87), while naphtenic oil and elongation at break have regression equation as Y2 = 236.32 + 21 X (r = 0.88).   INTISARI  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi bahan pelunak naphtenic oil terhadap sifat fisis tegangan putus dan perpanjangan putus kompon karet untuk alas sapi. Abstract

The aim of the research was to find some important characteristics of rubber gutter compound such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and constant deflection because of adding Phenyl Beta Naphtylamine on it. Rubber gutter compound was made from mixing of natural (RSS) and synthetic rubber (SBR) and some aditives such Zink Oxide, Stearic Acid, Napthenic Oil, HAF black, Phenyl Beta Naphtylamine, Mercapto Benz Thiazol  Disulfide, Diphenyl Guanidine and Sulphur. Three compositions of RSS/SBR and Phenyl Beta Naphtylamine were used in the research, namely 40/60; 50/50; 60/40, and 1 : 1,5 ; 2 respectively. A statistical procedure was used to analyze the data of the physical characteristic of rubber gutter compound produced. The results were  compared to the data of the physical characteristic of rubber gutter compound produced. The results were compared to the physical strength of rubber gutter available in the market. From the statistical analyses they denoted that the levels of Phenyl Beta Naphtylamine gave significant effects on elongation at break and constant deflection however there was no effect on tensile strength. The composition levels of RSS /SBR could produce compounds which were  significant difference in the tensile strength, elongation at break and constant deflection. Compounds resulted from this research had better tensile strength and  elongation compared to rubber gutter available in the market.  INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan karakteristik kompon talang karet terutama sifat-sifat penting seperti tegangan putus, perpanjangan putus dan pampat tetap, karena penambahan anti oksidan Phenyl Beta Naptylamine. Kompon talang karet dibuat dari campuran karet alam (RSS) dan karet sintetis (SBR) dengan enambahan bahan pembantu yaitu Zink Oksida, Asam Stearat, Naphtenic Oil, HAF black, Phenyl Beta Naphtylamine, Mercapto Benz Thiazol Disulphyte, Diphenyl Guanidine dan Sulfur. Campuran RSS dengan SBR di variasi dengan perbandingan 40/60; 50/50; dan 60/40, sedang Phenyl Beta Naphtylamine yang ditambahkan adalah 1; 1,5; dan 2 bagian. Kompon yang didapatkan, setelah diuji, hasilnya dianalisa dengan perhitungan statistik, serta dibandingkan dengan hasil uji talang karet dari pasaran. Dari hasil analisa statistik variasi Phenyl Beta Naphtylamine berpengaruh nyata pada sifat perpanjangan putus dan pampat tetap, sedangkan pada sifat tegangan putus tidak berbeda nyata. Variasi pencampuran RSS dengan SBR memberikan perbedaan yang nyata pada sifat fisis tegangan putus, perpanjangan putus dan pampat tetap. Dibandingkan dengan beberapa contoh yang diambil dari pasaran, kompon hasil penelitian mempunyai tegangan putus dan perpanjangan putus yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know influence of process oil to the physical properties tensile strength and elongation at break of rubber compound for hand water pump. Vulcanized rubber makes from Rubber Smoke Sheet (RSS) and Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR 1502) as raw material. Ingredient which added to raw material were Paraffin Wax, Strearic Acid, ZnO, CaCO3, Carbon Black, Process Oil, CBS, TMT, AOSP and Sulphur. Raw material rubber and ingredient were compounded in a two roll mill and formed to slab by hydraulic press at temperature 1500C and pressure 150 kg/cm2. It should be carry out by varying process oil 3 – 9 part by weight raw material. The compound was tested tensile strength and elongation at break. The result of this research indicated that process oil (X1) and tensile strength (Y1) have regression equation as Y1 = 235,697 – 8,33 X (correlation coeffisien = 0,72) while process oil and elongation at break has regression equation as Y2 = 251,64 + 12,75 X (correlation coeffisien = 0,97).   INTISARI  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh proses oil terhadap sifat fisis tegangan putus dan perpanjangan putus vulkanisat karet untuk pompa air tangan. Vulkanisat karet untuk komponen pompa air tangan dibuat dari bahan baku Rubber Smoke Sheet (RSS) dan Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR 1502) ditambah ingredient-ingredien antara lain Paraffin Wax, Asam stearate, ZnO, CaCO3, Carbon Black, Proses Oil, CBS, TMT, AOSP dan sulfur. Bahan-bahan tersebut diatas dikomponding pada sebuah alat two roll mill. Kompon yang dihasilkan dibuat menjadi bentuk slab dengan menggunakan hydraulic press pada suhu 1500C dan tekanan 150 kg/cm2. Kompon karet untuk komponen pompa air tangan dibuat dengan memvariasikan proses oil 3 sampai 9 bagian berat bahan baku karet. Pengujian yang dilakukan terhadap kompon tersebut adalah uji tegangan putus dan perpanjangan putus. Data hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa antara proses oil (X) dengan tegangan putus (Y1) menunjukkan ada persamaan regresi sebagai berikut : Y1 = 235, 697- 8,3 X1 (koefisien korelasi = 0,72). Sedangkan antara proses oil dengan perpanjangan putus (Y2) mempunyai persamaan regresi Y2 = 251, 64 + 12,75 X (koefisien korelasi =0,97).

Abstract

The availability of energy becomes a major problem in the construction of iron mineral-based smelter to produce ferrous metals in the form of pig iron. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the Krupp-Renn technology that based on coal as a reducing agent to produce pig iron in the form of nuggets. Such a technology employs a rotary kiln that consumes less energy than other furnaces. In this study, reduction process of iron sand concentrates with coal as the reductant was accomplished in a mini-sized rotary kiln (0.6 m diameter and 6 m length). The process of iron nugget making from iron sand concentrate was conducted in two (2) stages, namely oxidation and reduction processes. The former was accomplished at a temperature above 800°C for 2 (two) hours to produce hematite phase. While the later was carried out at 1250-1300°C for 6-8 hours. Both processes produced iron nuggets that contained more than 90% Fe. The highest Fe content reached 96.49% Fe. Such a nugget could meet the requirement for steel making.
