Abstract

Class imbalance occurs when the distribution of classes between the majority and the minority classes is not the same. The data on imbalanced classes may vary from mild to severe. The effect of high-class imbalance may affect the overall classification accuracy since the model is most likely to predict most of the data that fall within the majority class.  Such a model will give biased results, and the performance predictions for the minority class often have no impact on the model. The use of the oversampling technique is one way to deal with high-class imbalance, but only a few are used to solve data imbalance. This study aims for an in-depth performance analysis of the oversampling techniques to address the high-class imbalance problem. The addition of the oversampling technique will balance each class’s data to provide unbiased evaluation results in modeling. We compared the performance of Random Oversampling (ROS), ADASYN, SMOTE, and Borderline-SMOTE techniques. All oversampling techniques will be combined with machine learning methods such as Random Forest, Logistic Regression, and k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). The test results show that Random Forest with Borderline-SMOTE gives the best value with an accuracy value of 0.9997, 0.9474 precision, 0.8571 recall, 0.9000 F1-score, 0.9388 ROC-AUC, and 0.8581 PRAUC of the overall oversampling technique.

Abstract

The school information system, especially the Industrial Work Practices activity attendance system at SMKN 1 Jetis, is still done manually, that is, it still uses books and you have to fill in an activity journal every day in that book. After the internship ends, students are asked to collect the books, which the teacher will use to collect data on whether the student skipped class, permission and so on. Meanwhile, teachers do not have other data that can be used for data collection if the book is damaged or lost. This problem occurs because there is no system or application that is able to provide convenience for the process of collecting data and checking accurately. This information system created uses web or mobile technology which is tailored to the needs of system users and can make it easier for teachers to carry out the process of checking student attendance at internship activities through this attendance application, and we also provide a comparison of this application with other applications in order to determine the quality application quality and to determine the development of application features aimed at making it easier for users to use the application.

Abstract

Namun, penerapan Sistem Pemerintahan Berbasis Elektronik masih memiliki kekurangan, terutama terkait keredundanan data antar instansi pemerintahan.

Abstract

Biomedical Named Entity Recognition (BioNER) is essential to bioinformatics because it identifies and classifies biological entities in biomedical texts. With the increasing number of biomedical literature and the rapid progress of the BioNER approach, it is essential to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) on BioNER. This SLR consolidates existing information and provides directions for future studies in the BioNER field. This review systematically explores scientific journals and conferences published from 2019 to 2024. This research uses PubMed and Scholar as reference search databases because of their affiliation with other well-known publishers such as IEEE, Elsevier, and Springer. The results show a transition from conventional machine learning to deep learning. Neural networks and transformers show better performance in deep learning methods. The datasets often used in BioNER development are BC2GM, BC5CDR, and NCBI-Disease. Precision, Recall, and F1-Score are used in most papers to evaluate model performance. The performance of these models mostly depends on the availability of big annotated datasets and significant computational tools. Therefore, it is vital for future research to address the issues of annotated data and resource availability to build accurate models. Researchers should investigate the creation of ideal designs that lower computing complexity without compromising performance. Overall, this SLR offers a thorough overview of the latest research on BioNER. It provides significant insights for academics and practitioners in bioinformatics and medical research, helping them understand the innovative aspects of BioNER research.

Abstract

A common way to maintain the quality of service on systems that are growing rapidly is by increasing server specifications or by adding servers. The utility of servers can be balanced with the presence of a load balancer to manage server loads. In this paper, we propose a machine learning algorithm that utilizes server resources CPU and memory to forecast the future of resources server loads. We identify the timespan of forecasting should be long enough to avoid dispatcher's lack of information server distribution at runtime. Additionally, server profile pulling, forecasting server resources, and dispatching should be asynchronous with the request listener of the load balancer to minimize response delay. For production use, we recommend that the load balancer should have friendly user interface to make it easier to be configured, such as adding resources of servers as parameter criteria. We also recommended from beginning to start to save the log data server resources because the more data to process, the more accurate prediction of server load will be.

Abstract

The management of open-pit mines is one of the challenges that often arises in the management of mine disposal areas, especially in supporting the efficiency of transporting mining materials. In this context, it is important to design a safe and efficient slide dump geometry to reduce the risk of slope failure and operational costs. The study involved the collection of geotechnical data, such as lithological and stratigraphic data obtained from exploratory drilling activities, as well as material property data, including cohesion and deep shear angle (). The collected data was then input into slope stability analysis software with the limit equilibrium method, which ultimately informed safe design recommendations for the disposal slide dump area. The results of this study not only provide an understanding of slope stability, but also highlight the importance of design optimization in supporting operational efficiency. Overall, this study confirms that the design of the disposal slides at the high wall of Pit 4B is stated to be feasible according to the calculations, simulations, and risk analysis that have been carried out, with the hope of meeting the aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Cyber threats are complex and diverse issues. Various types of threats emerge daily on the internet. In this research, we proposed a new Cyber Threat Intelligence platform to deal with the challenges above, using Snort as a tool for detecting anonymous network traffic and STIX as a serialization format and standardization of Cyber Threat Intelligence data. As a result, a Cyber Threat Intelligence based on Snort contains Apache Spark as the processing engine, MongoDB as the database, and STIX as the serialization format and data standardization. We test our platform by using two data sources, the CIC-IDS2017 dataset, and the real traffic. We successfully converted the snort alerts to STIX format and visualized them into graph. The graph shows indication of network traffic suspicious, the country of attacker come from, attribute information and attack pattern. The experiment shows that converting Snort data to STIX requires considerable time if the amount of data processed is getting bigger, Real Traffic needs 16 seconds of data preprocessing and 3 minutes of conversion time, while PCAP needs 35 seconds of preprocessing time and 13 minutes of conversion time.
