Abstract

This research explored the integration of digital technology with Islamic-based character education. The main goal is to analyze how Islamic Religious Education values are applied to shape student character in the context of technological advances. The study focuses on the processes, strategies, and approaches used by teachers, as well as the challenges they face in integrating technology with religious education. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that The study highlights the challenges faced by teachers, such as students' dependence on technology, exposure to inappropriate content, and limited teacher skills in using digital tools. To overcome these obstacles, strategies such as selective use of technology, supervision of digital content, teacher training, and direct integration of Islamic values into digital materials are implemented. The holistic approach ensures that Islamic character development is maintained, balancing religious education with technological advancements to prepare students for both the digital era and adherence to Islamic principles.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi dan numerasi siswa sekolah dasar, yang menjadi perhatian dalam upaya peningkatan mutu pendidikan nasional. Bertempat di SD Negeri 5 Tugumulyo, kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari inisiatif "Kampus STAIDA Mengajar" yang bertujuan untuk memberdayakan mahasiswa sebagai agen pembelajaran di sekolah-sekolah mitra. Program ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dasar siswa dalam membaca, menulis, dan berhitung serta membantu sekolah dalam adaptasi teknologi pembelajaran dan administrasi. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang meliputi sosialisasi, observasi, perencanaan program, pelaksanaan pengajaran langsung, serta evaluasi bersama pihak sekolah. Kegiatan yang dilakukan mencakup bimbingan literasi dan numerasi secara intensif, penyusunan media pembelajaran interaktif, pelatihan penggunaan teknologi untuk guru dan siswa, serta pendampingan dalam manajemen administrasi sekolah. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan dasar siswa, terutama pada siswa yang sebelumnya mengalami kesulitan membaca dan berhitung, serta peningkatan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran. Program ini juga memberikan dampak positif terhadap kemampuan sosial dan kepemimpinan mahasiswa, serta mempererat hubungan antara institusi pendidikan tinggi dan sekolah mitra. Kesimpulannya, program ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi literasi dan numerasi siswa serta memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap kualitas pendidikan dasar. Keberlanjutan program diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat jangka panjang bagi sekolah dan komunitas sekitar.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the preferences of families in Nirwana Village in choosing Islamic boarding schools (Pondok Pesantren) as educational institutions for their children. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the study gathers data through interviews, observation, and documentation involving selected families and pesantren administrators. The findings reveal that religious values, discipline, character education, accessibility, cost, and the reputation of pesantren are the main factors influencing family choices. Families view pesantren not only as centers of religious knowledge but also as institutions that shape the moral and spiritual character of children. The study concludes that cultural and religious traditions in Nirwana Village play a significant role in sustaining the preference for pesantren education, and understanding these preferences can support educational policy planning and pesantren development.
