Abstract

This study aims to validate the psychometric approach (using the Rasch model and confirmatory factor analysis) on the Indonesian version of the statistical anxiety scale (SAS) instrument. Sampling in this study used cluster random sampling with a total sample of 1651 which was divided into three regions of Indonesia (Western Indonesia, Central Indonesia, and Eastern Indonesia) with details of 457 males (27.46%) and 1,194 females (72.54%). The number of samples from the West Indonesia region was 922 people (55.71%), the Central Indonesia region was 605 people (36.76%), and the Eastern Indonesia region was 124 people (7.53%). The results of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) show that the dimensions/elements of the SAS instrument meet the criteria which are then continued using the rating scale model (RSM) approach. From the results of the tests performed, it shows that all items on the SAS instrument meet the specified criteria. Thus, the SAS instrument adopted in the Indonesian context can be used to measure students’ statistical anxiety. The results of the research conducted became the initial capital to increase students’ statistical anxiety considering that statistics courses are needed in completing studies, especially quantitative research.

Abstract

This dedication is motivated by the existence of less assertive behaviour in children with mental disability, so that children with special needs (ABK) with mental disability need special guidance so that they can behave more assertively through self-care independence programs. The purpose of this service is to find out the effectiveness of applying assertive training techniques to mentally retarded ABK at SKH Aditiya Silih Asih, Tangerang Regency. This program is assigned to 4 mild mentally retarded crew members run by the PKM-Community Service Team in collaboration with SKH educator Aditya Silih Asih and parents with ABK with mental retardation. Based on the results of observations and interviews, ABK has low behavioral control, tends to be annoying, and difficult to advise. In addition, at SKH Aditiya Silih Asih there are still no educators with a background in Guidance and Counseling, and there are only three educators with special educational backgrounds, so that the provision of treatment for ABK is still not entirely appropriate. The method used to achieve program success is by observing, interviewing, and questionnaires. The results obtained from filling out the questionnaire were 91%, which is high. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of ABK in participating in the program, as well as parents and educators, when participating in Sharing Session activities.

Abstract

This research was survey research with a quantitative approach that aimed to standardized the academic integrity instruments through the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Rasch Model approaches. The population in this study were all students in universities in Indonesia. The sample used in the study was 452 students (230 students on the first stage and 222 students on the second stage) who were selected using cluster random sampling techniques. The data obtained were analyzed using Gregory analysis (two experts) to obtain the content validity coefficient, factor analysis using the CFA approach, and the Rasch Model. The results showed that the content validity coefficient of the academic integrity instrument was 0,822 (45 items). The results of the CFA analysis according to the first stage trial showed the value of Construct Reliability (CR) and Variance Extracted (VE) for the measurement model was 0,811 and 0,125, while the value of CR and VE for the structural model was 0,940 and 0,763 (six items dropped). The Rasch Model analysis showed one infit item. The results of the CFA analysis according to the second stage trial showed the value of CR and VE for the measurement model was 0,879 and 0,247, while the value of CR and VE for the structural model was 0,950 and 0,918 (one item dropped). The Rasch Model analysis showed all the remaining items in the fit category. The standardized academic integrity instrument consists of 37 statements with dimensions of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, and responsibility.
