Abstract

Decreased physical function and a significant increase in the risk of disability and dependency are typical of older adults. Muscle strength is a strong predictor of severe mobility limitations, slow walking speed, increased risk of falls. Research provides justification for the use of trunk muscle exercise therapy which plays a restorative and accommodative role in minimizing loss of stability in the elderly through improving balance and mobility thereby reducing the risk of falls. This community service activity (PKM) uses a lecture technique by providing education about Education Related to the Effect of Trunk Muscle Exercise on Reducing the Risk of Falling in the Elderly. The media used in the lecture technique. Implementation of PkM activities for the elderly, carried out through notifications via the internet by filling out a Google form with a sample size of 12 elderly. The results obtained are increased knowledge related to education related to the effect of trunk muscle training on reducing the risk of falling in the elderly

Abstract

Technological developments are very rapid and significant, which is marked by social media that is increasingly widespread and easily accessible. Evidenced by the increasing purchase of gadgets or smartphones, this is in line with the increasing number of gadget users. The use of gadgets that cannot be limited, ranging from children to adults, has an impact not only in a positive but also negative way. According to several data sources, children with excessive use of gadgets can interfere with children's emotional and social development, besides that children with a period of growth and development will experience delays in recent years. The purpose of doing this community service is to educate about the dangers of using Gadgets on the Social Emotional Development of children aged 6-10 years in Denai Lama Village, Pantai Labu District. The community service method is carried out in the form of counseling using a laptop displaying PPT (Power Point Text) data taken using an analytical survey with a Cross-Sectional Study research approach. Results: Of the 35 parent participants (male/mother) who attended, 36.0% of parents knew and were aware of the dangers of using gadgets, 64.0% of parents who did not know and were not aware of the dangers of using gadgets. Conclusion: There are still many parents who do not know and are fully aware of the dangers caused by the use of gadgets for the development of children aged 6-10 years, so education is still needed in the form of counseling and information that is easily accessible to the public.

Abstract

Bacterial growth media is a material consisting of a mixture of nutrients that are used by bacteria to grow and reproduce. Biochemical tests are carried out to see the characteristics of bacteria through biochemical reactions, which are usually carried out including TSIA (Triple sugar iron agar) media which is used to identify gram-negative rod bacteria to see their ability to ferment glucose, sucrose and lactose. Based on the potential nutritional content of green coconut water, green coconut water is rich in nutrients such as potassium, protein, carbohydrates in the form of suxora (disaccharides), glucose, fructose (monosaccharides) in green coconut water, which are monosaccharides that are more easily utilized for growth as prebiotics. This type of research is experimental research. Objective: laboratory scale where this research will look at the growth of bacteria using green coconut water (Cocus Nucifera) as an alternative medium to replace Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA) media. The results of the research show the growth of Escherichia coli bacterial colonies on the media. Conclusion: Green coconut water resulted in good bacterial growth. Based on the results of research on differences in the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria on TSIA (Triple Sugar Iron Agar) media and on alternative media of green coconut water (Cocus nucifera), it can be concluded that Green coconut water media can be used as an alternative medium for cultivating Escherichia coli bacteria as a substitute for TSIA.

Abstract

Stroke is a functional disorder of the brain that can occur suddenly or abruptly with focal or global neurological signs that can last 24 hours or more (if no surgery or death occurs) without any signs of non-vascular causes, which include signs of subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, ischemia or cerebral infarction. This can cause disturbances in vital brain functions such as coordination disorders, balance disorders, posture control disorders, sensation disorders and movement reflex disorders, thereby reducing the ability to carry out daily living activities and balance disorders. The motor relearning program method is a program for retraining specific motor controls by avoiding unnecessary or wrong movements that involve cognitive processes, the application of motor and psychological science, training, understanding of nervous anatomy and physiology and is not based on the theory of normal development (neuro development). The research aims to determine the effect of the motor relearning program on daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients. The method used in this research is a quasi experiment with one group pretest and post test design. The research sample consisted of 9 people. The samples will be observed and adjusted to the specified criteria so that they do not cause problems. Each respondent was measured 2 (two) times, namely before and after the intervention. Test the hypothesis using the Wilcoxon test. The research results obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p=<0.05), which means there is a significant influence of the motor relearning program intervention on daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients. The results of this research can be concluded that the motorbike relearning program can improve daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in patients after non-hemorrhagic stroke. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to health services for the community in overcoming the problems of daily living activities and dynamic balance disorders in post-stroke patients.

Abstract

Background: Cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common cause of physical disability in children. One of the most frequently cited definitions of CP is 'a group of permanent disorders in the development of movement and posture, which causes activity limitations, caused by non-progressive disorders that occur in the development of the fetal or infant brain'. Non-pharmacological approaches such as exercise therapy have been shown to be effective in overcoming the problems of children with cerebral palsy. One of the exercise interventions that has the potential to increase trunk stabilization is Treatment Trunk Stability Training. This technique works synergistically to target the trunk, improve gross motor function, trunk control, and balance, and will help better functional recovery in children with cerebral palsy. Objective: To determine the effect of Trunk Stability Training on Increasing Segmental Of Trunk Control Values in Cerebral Palsy Patients. Methods: This study is a quantitative pre-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. A total of 13 subjects diagnosed with cerebral palsy underwent a two-week intervention. Measurement of trunk stability or trunk control was performed using Segmental Of Trunk Control (SATCo). Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the data were not normally distributed (p <0.05). The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a p-value = 0.016 (<0.05), which means that there was a significant difference between the Segmental Of Trunk Control (SATCo) scores before and after the intervention. Conclusion: Trunk Stability Training treatment has been proven effective in strengthening or stabilizing the trunk/torso and improving trunk control in children with cerebral palsy.
