Abstract

This community service program aims to provide assistance and education on the implementation of the Business Identification Number (Nomor Induk Berusaha or NIB) for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Rungkut Kidul Sub-district, Surabaya. Many MSME actors in the area still lack formal business legality, which limits their access to government support programs such as funding, training, and partnerships. Through this initiative, the implementing team conducted socialization, technical training, and direct assistance in the online NIB registration process via the Online Single Submission (OSS) system. The method employed was a participatory approach, involving local business owners as active participants in each stage of the activity. The results indicate that most participants successfully obtained their NIBs and gained a better understanding of the importance of business legality for long-term development. This program has made a significant contribution by raising legal awareness and business capacity among the community, while also strengthening the foundation of the local economy through a more structured and formal MSME sector.

Abstract

Public participation in investment, especially within the banking sector, is witnessing notable growth driven by technological advancements and increased access to information. Nonetheless, this growth masks a reality where investor behaviour is often irrational and influenced by psychological factors. Insights from behavioural finance reveal that investment decisions rely on objective analysis, emotional factors, and individual perceptions. Specifically, loss aversion and overconfidence biases are thought to affect investment performance. Additionally, investment experience can amplify or diminish the impact of investment outcomes. This study identifies and analyses how loss aversion and overconfidence influence investment performance, with investment experience as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative methodology, the research used purposive sampling to distribute a questionnaire at the Surabaya Investment Gallery. Data analysis was conducted through the Partial Least Square (PLS) method, utilizing SmartPLS 3.0. The study’s findings reveal that: 1) Loss aversion significantly positively impacts investment performance among investors at the Surabaya Investment Gallery; 2) Overconfidence also has a significant positive effect on investment performance among these investors; 3) Investment experience moderates the effect of loss aversion on performance; and 4) Investment experience similarly moderates the effect of overconfidence on performance among investors at the Surabaya Investment Gallery. These findings elevate behavioural finance literature and can guide investors toward making more rational decisions.

Abstract

Digital transformation significantly impacts various industries, compelling businesses to enhance their digital presence. In the financial sector, traditional banks and technology companies like Goto, Shopee, and Traveloka are entering the market with digital financial services and are becoming strong competitors. With the growing number of companies offering digital financial services in Indonesia, businesses are increasingly focused on delivering high-quality services to improve customer satisfaction and user experience. This study investigates factors influencing the user experience of digital financial services. Using purposive sampling, the study gathered 112 valid responses from Indonesian users of these services. Findings reveal that knowledge gaps negatively affect user experience, as limited understanding hinders full utilisation of available features. Additionally, high-quality service, characterised by reliability, ease of use, and responsiveness, enhances user satisfaction and trust, leading to a more positive overall experience. However, the study found no moderating effect of internet usage on the relationship between knowledge gaps and service quality, suggesting that other factors may play a more significant role in this dynamic.

Abstract

Along with the continued development of digital marketing in product marketing today, it is very necessary to be able to improve product branding for Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs), especially in Keputih Village, Surabaya. The lack of maximum ability in branding the products offered is due to limited facilities in taking good product photos. Product photos can be used as a visual communication medium, because a good product photo can convey the intent of the photo, so as to increase product knowledge. Making a mini studio as a solution to the problem of the availability of facilities to be used as a studio. The implementation of this mini studio creation activity was carried out in mutual cooperation in Keputih Village with simple tools and materials through the KKNT MBKM UPN "Veteran" East Java activity. This activity can be a solution to the problem of photo studio availability and simplify the process of taking pictures through the use of a mini studio. As a result of this activity, participants and readers of the publications can find out what tools and materials need to be prepared and the costs to be incurred in making a mini studio and the stages in making a mini studio. The mini studio that resulted from this activity was handed over to the Harmoni Keputih Tourism Market to be used by MSME actors and the mini studio module which is expected to be useful for UMKM actors in Keputih.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of saving on smoking habits, especially vape use among young people in Surabaya. Using quantitative methods, this study collected data from 100 respondents through purposive sampling, focusing on teenagers who have vaped at least once a month. Measurements were taken using a likert scale questionnaire analyzed through Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS version 4 software. The analysis was conducted by testing validity and construct reliability, namely outer loading, cross loading, composite reliability, and AVE values, and testing the structural model, namely R-square and path coefficient values. The findings from this study indicate that the habit of saving money has a negative impact but is not significant in relation to smoking habits. This shows that the practice of saving money in the context of financial management does not directly strengthen a person's ability to exercise self-control in reducing vape use. Individuals who are accustomed to saving money still tend to spend part of their money on vape products due to the influence of the desire for immediate gratification and pressure from their social environment. These findings indicate that although saving is a crucial element in financial management, this habit has not been successful in controlling smoking behavior
