Abstract

Abstract

Interactive Biology learning training for rural school teachers aims to improve the quality of teaching by utilizing learning methods that actively involve students, despite the limited resources available. This study uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological design to explore the teacher's experience and perception of the training. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation. The results showed that this training has a positive impact on improving the knowledge and skills of teachers in implementing interactive Biology learning. Teachers feel more confident in using simple teaching aids and environment-based experiments as a learning medium. However, the main challenge faced is the limited facilities and teaching aids in rural schools. In addition, despite the increase in student activity, teachers also face difficulties in managing the diversity of student interests and abilities. Overall, the training improves the quality of teaching in rural schools and provides practical guidance to address existing challenges. This research suggests that continuous training should be conducted and focus on practical solutions related to limited resources

Abstract

This activity aims to introduce and train 4th grade students of SD Laboratorium UM on the principles of harmony between aquaculture and simple hydroponics by utilizing the Budikdamber method. This initiative is embedded in the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), which combines practical and theoretical approaches to learning. During the implementation, students were involved in designing, constructing, maintaining, and cultivating the output of the Budikdamber system, which consists of catfish aquaculture and hydroponic kale plants that mutually support a balanced ecosystem cycle. The results of this training showed an increase in students' knowledge and skills in sustainable agriculture, along with creative and innovative cultivation practices. In addition, it fosters a sense of environmental responsibility among students. The program is expected to be a model for P5 that blends theory and practice, equipping students with relevant skills for the future. The outputs of this activity include publications in accredited national journals and news articles in online media. We also hope that our partners can directly benefit from the knowledge gained through this training.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a public health problem in Makassar City and requires a strong surveillance system. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the Dengue Prevention and Control Program (P2DBD) in strengthening the dengue surveillance system in Makassar City. This study employed a descriptive qualitative evaluation approach involving 11 key informants from the Makassar City Health Office. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document review and analyzed based on input, process, output, and outcome aspects. The findings indicate that the P2DBD program has been implemented fairly well; however, limitations remain in human resources, infrastructure, and preventive funding. Program implementation is still largely reactive. While most activities met program targets, their impact on reducing dengue cases was limited. Nevertheless, improvements were observed in early case detection and intersectoral coordination. In conclusion, strengthening the dengue surveillance system in Makassar City requires improvements in human resources, infrastructure, preventive financing, community participation, and more proactive surveillance methods.
