Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of mini soccer games in increasing children’s physical activity. The low level of children’s physical activity has become one of the problems in physical education learning; therefore, an enjoyable learning model is needed to encourage children to be more active during the learning process. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 28 children aged 10–12 years selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children (PAQ-C) and a physical activity observation sheet. The mini soccer game intervention was conducted for one month with a frequency of two sessions per week. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in children’s physical activity after the implementation of the mini soccer game intervention, with a significance value of p < 0.05. The improvement in physical activity was indicated by increased movement intensity, active participation, and children’s enthusiasm during learning activities. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that mini soccer games are effective in increasing children’s physical activity and can be used as an alternative learning model in elementary school physical education.

Badminton is a sport that is very popular with Indonesian people. With so many people playing badminton, badminton has become one of the favorite sports of Indonesian people. Refereeing as part of badminton coaching is very important. When the referee enforces the rules of the game, the referee's role becomes the determining factor. A professional referee can be neutral and enforce the applicable rules of the game. Apart from that, there are also other criteria that are also needed so that a badminton referee must be physically and mentally healthy. The mechanism for implementing activities in general is in the form of planning/preparation, implementation, observation and evaluation, and reflection. This activity took place on 25 July – 26 July 2024, a theoretical presentation in the Hero University hall and continued on 27 July – 28 July 2024, a referee practice exam at the Muara Uwai Bangkinang Seberang Badminton Gym. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the contribution of agility and speed to the soccer playing performance of Bangkinang City athletes. Soccer is a sport that emphasizes physical, technical, tactical, and mental abilities. These components are part of physical condition, which is very important. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sample in this study consisted of 32 Bangkinang City soccer athletes selected using a total sampling technique. The instruments used were the Illinois Agility Test to measure agility, a 30 meter sprint test to measure speed, and a soccer performance assessment instrument consisting of a soccer skills test and observation using an assessment instrument covering passing, dribbling, ball control, shooting, and off-the-ball movement. Data analysis used correlation and multiple regression tests. The results showed that agility made a significant contribution to playing performance of 0.682, which is included in the strong category. Speed contributed to soccer playing performance by 0.641. Simultaneously, agility and speed contributed to soccer playing performance by 0.641. Thus, it can be concluded that agility and speed are important factors influencing the soccer playing performance of Bangkinang City athletes.
