Abstract

Negara Indonesia merupakan negara berkembang yang masih menghadapi berbagai permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat, salah satunya adalah kebiasaan berperilaku bersih dan menjaga kesehatan. Menurut WHO masalah kebersihan dan kesehatan, Indonesia masih dibawah negara-negara tetangga seperti Singapura dengan score 85, Brunai Darussalam 78, dan Malaysia 69, sedangkan Indonesia hanya memiliki score 60 yang berada di posisi keempat negara Asean berdasarkan indeks Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Kondisi ini dikarenakan kesadaran melakukan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS) belum massif dipraktekkan oleh masyarakat di Indonesia. Suatu upaya yang dilakukan dalam penanggulangan permasalahan ini adalah dengan menanamkan PHBS pada anak usia sekolah dasar agar mereka terbiasa dengan perilaku tersebut secara berkelanjutan sampai dewasa nanti. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberi nilai tambah dan pengalaman bagi pihak sekolah dan siswa-siswi dalam menerapkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat (PHBS). Kegiatan yang dilakukan di SDN 26 Kelurahan Gambesi kota Ternate ini berupa penyuluhan dan permainan edukatif kepada siswa-siswi sekolah dasar agar PHBS dapat dipraktekkan didalam akitifitas sehari-hari, baik di dalam lingkungan sekolah maupun di luar sekolah. Hasil program ini berhasil membangkitkan semangat dan memberikan motivasi bagi siswa-siswi dan juga pihak sekolah SDN 26 Kelurahan Gambesi kota Ternate karena pihak sekolah sangat terbantu dengan metode baru yang ditawarkan tim pengabdian sehingga para siswa lebih semangat dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Selain itu, program ini telah berhasil membuat para siswa lebih memperhatikan PHBS untuk menjaga kesehatan individu dan juga lingkungan sekitar. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil evaluasi yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian berupa diskusi dengan para siswa dan pihak sekolah pasca pelaksanaan program yang menunjukkan pemahaman siswa tentang PHBS dan dikonfirmasi oleh pihak sekolah setelah sepekan pelaksanaan program.

Abstract

Zaman globalisasi seperti saat ini mempengaruhi dan bahkan membuat nilai-nilai moral dalam kehidupan menjadi kurang diperhatikan lagi. Pergaulan semakin bebas sehingga memicu terjadinya perbuatan yang tidak baik bagi kesehatan, yaitu mengkonsumsi narkoba. Banyak faktor yang melandasi hal tersebut, seperti pergaulan yang tidak sehat, ingin coba-coba, dan lain sebagainya. Maraknya pernggunaan narkoba saat ini tidak hanya tren di kalangan para pemuda yang sudah tidak menduduki bangku sekolah lagi, saat ini penggunaan narkoba telah marajalela di kalangan para pelajar, mahasiswa, orang dewasa dan bahkan pada usia lanjut. Semua ini dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai bahaya narkoba. Program pengabdian masyarakat yang diinisiasi oleh Majelis Kesehatan Umum dan Pelayanan Sosial Pimpiman Wilayah Muhamamdiyah Maluku Utara ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman bagi kelompok pelajar dan mahasiswa untuk memiliki kesadaran tinggi dan potensi diri untuk menghadapi dampak globalisasi, terutama masalah narkoba. Metode yang digunakan : (1) Pemaparan Materi, (2). Diskusi dan (3) Tanyajawab (4). Pre Test dan Post Test. Alat Penunjang pada kegiatan ini antara lain : Infocus dan layar, Leptop, Alat Tulis dan KIT Seminar. Kegiatan ini melibatkan pelajar dan mahasiswa berjumlah 114 peserta, yang terdiri dari MTs Darul Ulum Sasa Kota Ternate, MA Darul Ulum Sasa Kota Ternate, SMA Muhammadiyah Kota Ternate, SMA Negeri 3 Kota Ternate, SMK Negeri 4 Kota Ternate sebanyak 66 pelajar dan 48 Mahasiswa dari Program Study Kesehatan Masyarakat Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan UMMU, Mahasiswa Prodi PGSD dan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan UMMU. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan ada peningkatan pengetahuan pelajar dan mahasiswa tentang bahaya narkoba.

Abstract

Clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in schools is an activity to empower students, teachers and the community of the school environment to want to adopt a healthy lifestyle, thus creating a healthy school. School age children are a critical age, because at that age a child is vulnerable to health problems. Students in elementary schools are the right targets to be objects of counseling about clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) with the aim of increasing students' knowledge and understanding of clean and healthy living behaviors. The activity was carried out on January 7, 2020 at the 25 state elementary schools in Ternate City. The results of counseling were an increase in knowledge from the results of the pre-test 35.5% and the post-test 65.5% about PHBS from 27 students with 10 questions.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is an event of the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (English: Coronavirus disease 2019, abbreviated as COVID-19) throughout the world for all countries. This disease is caused by a new type of corona virus called SARS-CoV-2. The COVID-19 outbreak was first detected in Wuhan City, Hubei, China on December 1, 2019, and was designated a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. The purpose of IbM activities is to increase community participation in preventing transmission of Covid-19 through the application of the 3M movement. The method of this activity is to visit residents' homes, lectures, questions and answers, FGDs and assistive devices, namely laptops, stickers, posters and masks by involving the community, namely the campus community (Fikes students), the Gambesi Village community and the Sasa village community. The results of the IbM activity are (1) the public can understand the application of the 3M movement to prevent the transmission of covid-19. (2) the public realizes that the application of 3M can reduce the risk of transmission of covid-19. With the implementation of the IbM activity, it can be concluded that the public has a higher understanding and awareness of the efforts to implement the 3M movement to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus on the North Maluku Muhammadiyah University campus. From IbM activities, it is suggested to the public to always apply health protocols through the 3M movement, namely wearing masks, washing hands and keeping a distance when doing activities.

Abstract

The case of HIV/AIDS is a serious problem in several countries, including Indonesia. The government has done a lot of handling by way of counseling and assistance to suppress this problem. One of the parties who play a major role in this response is the school where many teenagers spend their time in the school environment. For this reason, this program aims to increase the knowledge and attitudes of students at MTs Darul Ulum, Sasa sub-district, Ternate city about HIV/AIDS, as well as the impact of the risks of having premarital sex. This service begins with observing the location and making a schedule. Furthermore, the service team conducted counseling at the Darul Ulum MTs school, Sasa sub-district, Ternate city which was attended by teachers and school students. The results of this service can increase students' knowledge and attitudes about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and the impact of free sex behavior. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students and the two-way discussion with the students. This program is expected to run sustainably so that the vision, mission, and goals of education can be achieved properly.

Abstract

The Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) is a systematic and planned action carried out jointly by all components of the nation with awareness, willingness and ability to behave in a healthy manner to improve the quality of life. One of GERMAS activities is Improving Physical Activity, therefore on the 106th Milad Muhammadiyah with the theme Ta'awun for the Country, the North Maluku Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PWM Malut) held Aerobic Gymnastics and Healthy Walks as an effort to prevent disease (heart, lung, stroke, diabetes, etc.) and as an effort to improve public health. Aerobic Gymnastics was held on October 26, 2018 at the UMM campus, while the Healthy Walk was also held on November 24, 2018 with a meeting point at the Landmark (Muhajirin Village) and a healthy walk at the Sultan Mosque. Ternate (Soa Sio Village) as well as the finishing place at the Ternate Al-Munawwar Grand Mosque. With this GERMAS activity, it is hoped that a healthy lifestyle will be formed, especially for North Maluku Muhammadiyah residents and society in general. Therefore, in this community service journal, the author also includes the Yutube link for aerobic exercise (Low Impact & High Impact, Tobelo Gymnastics and Diabetes Gymnastics) so that readers can immediately practice aerobic exercise as an effort to prevent disease and improve health from various diseases.

Abstract

Sexually transmitted diseases or STDs for short are diseases caused by unhealthy sexual relations. STDs are usually experienced by teenagers, adults, and the elderly due to deviant behavior such as free sex, anal sex, oral sex, or because of direct contact with sufferers through the genital tract, skin touch, vaginal fluids, sperm fluid and sexual intercourse that is not use condoms and other sexual safety devices. Factors that influence adolescent behavior are personal experience, the influence of others, cultural influences, mass media, educational institutions, religion and emotional factors. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct education and socialization on the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases using lecture methods, question and answer and discussion as well as aids or poster media used. From the results of the education and socialization activities, it is hoped that it can prevent sexually transmitted diseases and increase the generation of healthy living in adolescents at GMIH Eben Haezer Church, Ternate.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease (NCD) that is a major health problem worldwide, including in Indonesia. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health shows that the prevalence of diabetes continues to increase annually, not only among the elderly but also among those of productive age and adolescents. The main objective of this empowerment program is to enhance the role and capacity of public health students as agents of behavior change through a community-based empowerment approach, specifically in Tafraka Village, Pulau Hiri District, Ternate City. With this approach, students are expected to contribute significantly to increasing public awareness, knowledge, and healthy lifestyles related to the prevention and control of diabetes mellitus. The empowerment program begins with a preparation phase, strengthening the students' capacity as agents of behavior change. At this stage, coordination is carried out with various stakeholders, including educational institutions, community health centers, and community leaders, to determine the location and target groups for the activities. Students of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences. The results of the activity showed that the empowerment approach involving students of the Public Health Study Program of the Faculty of Health Sciences in the Field Learning Experience (PBL) 2 activity in Tafraka Village, Pulau Hiri District, was effective in increasing public knowledge and awareness of efforts to prevent and control Diabetes Mellitus. The conclusion of the empowerment activity of Public Health students as agents of behavior change in Tafraka Village, Pulau Hiri District, Ternate City showed that the active involvement of students in community education and mentoring activities was able to increase public knowledge, attitudes, and awareness of the importance of preventing and controlling Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract

Backgroud : Posbindu PTM is a form of service that involves community participation through promotive and preventive efforst to detect and control early on the presence of PTM risk factors in an integrated manner. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the utilization of PTM Posbindu at the Jailolo Health Center, West Halmahera Regency. This type of research uses cross sectional approach with a cross sectional study. The population was 201 participants with the sampling technique using the Slovin formula,namely 134 pasticipants. Data obtained by conducting interviews using a questionnaire. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate with che square statistical test with a value of=0,05. Based oh the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge p-value=0,001<alpha (?=0,05), family support p-value=0,004<alpha (?=0,05), while the unrelated is attitude p-value=1.568<alpha value (?=0.05), health worker support p-value=1.249<alpha value (?=0.05) and PTM cadre support p-value=0.941<alpha value (?=0.05) on the utilization of PTM Posbindu at the Jailolo Health Center, West Halmahera Regency. It is recommended that participants take part in PTM Posbindu activities so that they can prevent PTM disease from an early age. Health workers and PTM cadres are more active in approaching or coordinating so that participants want to visit PTM Posbindu.

Abstract

Indiscriminate defecation (BABS) is an unhealthy behavior which is often encountered in everyday life. Until now, open defecation behavior in Soligi Village South Obi District is still being carried out. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of open defecation free behavior in families in Soligi village. The type of research used is quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The sample was taken proportionally with a simple random sampling technique calculated using the Lemeshow formula with a proportion of 0.2 95% confidence level and 0.1 storage degree so that 135 families of samples could be found from a total population of 679 families, to avoid drop out samples plus 10% so that a sample of 145 families was obtained. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate with che-square test and p value < 0.05. The results of the study concluded that there was a significant relationship between knowledge, p-value = 0.001 less than = 0.05, attitude obtained p-value = 0.000 less than = 0.05, latrine ownership obtained p-value = 0.002 less than = 0.05, the availability of clean water obtained p-value = 0.000 less than = 0.05, the role of health workers obtained p-value = 0.000 less than = 0.05, and the role of community shops obtained p-value = 0.000 less than = 0.05 with open defecation behavior (BABS).
