Abstract

The world is currently experiencing what is known as industry 4.0, a fusion of business and IT where robots and other forms of artificial intelligence are massively utilized. The fact that robots are now a regular part of people's lives raises novel liability issues. The research aims to address the questions whether artificial intelligence robots can be accepted as ethical and legal subjects in Islamic perspective. It also considers whether it is necessary to grant legal personality to robots and hold them liable for their decisions and conducts. The research is doctrinal legal research where the analysis was presented within the context of Islamic viewpoints in a descriptive-structured way. The result demonstrates that robots with artificial intelligence fall under the definition of jamadat. No matter how sophisticated, an artificial intelligence cannot have a biological vitality. Therefore, only humans have the potential to possess rights and be held liable for their actions. Robotic artificial intelligence systems lack the capacity to be regarded as responsible entities in this sense, to inflict legal sanctions on activities that are the result of algorithms, and to be held accountable for both civil and criminal offenses.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of English language learning assistance using the Duolingo application by students of the International Real Work (service) College at Darussalam Gontor University at At-Tanzil Students, Cheras, Malaysia. In this research, a qualitative approach was used in the form of a case study, with data collection carried out through observation techniques, interviews and document collection during the service period. The research results show that using the Duolingo application as a tool in the English learning process has a positive impact on students' motivation and mastery of English. This application allows students to learn independently and interactively, with various types of exercises tailored to their respective ability levels. Mentoring by service students also enriches the learning process by applying English language practices in the context of everyday life. These findings indicate that the integration of technology in language education can improve learning effectiveness and provide new opportunities in traditional teaching methods. This research provides insight for educational institutions in implementing digital technology as a support in the language learning process, especially in international service programs that involve cross-cultural interaction.

Abstract

Dalam peradaban Barat, jiwa tidak diakui keberadaannya sebagaimana akal. Berbeda halnya dalam pandangan Islam, menurut pandangan Ibn Qayyim manusia merupakan makhluk yang memiliki jasad dan ruh sekaligus dan hakikatnya manusia sebagai makhluk ruhani bukan diukur dari fisik dan fungsinya saja, melainkan lebih kepada jiwanya. Artikel ini akan membahas bagaimana pendidikan jiwa menurut Ibn Qayyim. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif konten analisis. Ibn Qayyim menyatakan pentingnya peran jiwa bagi kehidupan manusia, sebab jiwa merupakan inti dari manusia dalam menuju kesempurnaannya.  Menurut Ibn Qayyim kesejahteraan manusia hanya dimiliki bagi orang yang jiwanya terdidik, dalam arti terbebas dari hawa nafsu negatif dan kehinaannya. Di sini jiwa terlihat memiliki peranan penting dalam membentuk kualitas kehidupan seseorang. Jiwa manusia itu merupakan sesuatu yang tidak mati dan selalu sadar akan dirinya, jiwa pada hakikatnya sebagai subtansi yang berbeda dengan tubuh, jiwa terpisah secara esensial dengan tubuh. Jadi, jiwa bukanlah tubuh akan akan tetapi jiwa akan selalu terhubung dengan tubuh, jiwa tak selalu tergantung pada penampilan tubuh, sebab manusia bisa saja memiliki tubuh bersih namun berjiwa kotor.
