Abstract

Cashews contribute significantly to the Indonesian economy because it is one of the exporting countries. However, volume of exports tends to fluctuate, so it is necessary to identify the influencing factors. This study aims to analyze volume of Indonesian cashew exports and its determinants. Time series data for 8 variables during 1985–2016 were analyzed descriptively by multiple regression models. The results again show fluctuations in export volume and value over 1985–2016 period. Lowest export volume occurred in 1989, but its value was in 1985. Highest export volume and value occurred in 2015. National cashew export volume depends on the domestic cashew price, exchange rate and income per capita. Peanuts and coffee have a complementary relationship with cashews, while sugar has a substitution relationship with this commodity. Cashews are an inferior goods.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of cashew farmers' income to household income. The background of this study is based on the strategic role of the agricultural sector, particularly cashew farming, in supporting the economy of farming families and as a source of funding for children's education. In the context of human resource development in rural areas, households' ability to finance education is greatly influenced by the stability and size of income obtained from farming activities. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. The research sample consists of 100 cashew farmer households selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that income from cashew farming significantly contributes to household income, with a regression coefficient of 0.723 and an R-squared value of 0.522. Meanwhile, the contribution to children's education expenditure is also significant, with a regression coefficient of 0.648 and an R-squared value of 0.471. In-depth interviews revealed that the majority of farmers prioritize children's education when income from farming increases. Thus, cashew farming not only serves as an economic support but also plays a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability of children's education in rural areas

Abstract

Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Kasimo adalah salah satu sekolah yang memiliki tujuan untuk membentuk keterampilan siswa dalam tuntutan dunia kerja di Sumba Barat Daya. Salah satu jurusan yang dimiliki oleh sekolah tersebut adalah jurusan computer dan jaringan yang membutuhakan keterampilan teknik digital. Hasil observasi diperoleh bahwa siswa/i masih memiliki kesulitan dalam memahami rangkaian logika digital baik yang sederhana maupun kombinasi serta sulit dalam menentukan output setiap rangkaian dalam bentuk table kebenaran. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan teknik digital siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah (a) metode ceramah, diskusi, dan melakukan praktik langsung dalam perangkaian rangkaian digital dasar. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh adalah siswa memiliki pemahaman tentang komponen elektronika dalam gerbang logika dasar serta mampu merangkai dan membuktikan nilai tabel kebenaran gerbang logika dasar And, Or, dan Not.
