Abstract

Crude oil has a vital role in the economic growth of a country, because crude oil is a source of energy driving the economy. To maintain economic stability, the price of crude oil in the coming period needs to be anticipated by making predictions on world crude oil commodity prices. One of the models that can be used to predict crude oil prices in the short term is Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM). The purpose of this study is to implement the GBM model in predicting crude oil prices during the Covid-19 pandemic, and to measure the accuracy of the model. In this study, the prediction of oil prices using the GBM model was carried out with 50, 100, and 1000 iterations. The results obtained indicate that the GBM model can work well in predicting crude oil prices during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is indicated by the MAPE value which is less than 10%.

Abstract

Human activity and climate change significantly impact water quality, especially in Malang's watershed. This research aims to develop a web-based Geographic Information System (Web- GIS) for water quality monitoring in that watershed. The water quality data had been collected from Enviromental Office of Malang District and Malang City. Water quality in this application was determined using the STORET method, comparing water quality data to water quality standards according to Government regulation so that the water quality status at each monitoring point will be known. The total 57 monitoring points are visualized spatially in this application based on the sampling location plotted by Global Positioning System (GPS). The longitude and latitude coordinates of the monitoring location had been converted in GeoJSON using Quantum GIS (QGIS) software. Google Map API key was used to display a sampling location map on the website. Web-GIS application was tested functionally using a black box, compatibility, and usability testing. Based on the testing results, it worked correctly on Chrome, Edge, Mozilla, and Opera browsers for PC/Laptops and also for browsers on Android smartphones version 4 and above. The application could be appropriately used and efficiently based on usability testing results.

Abstract

Reservations can be interpreted as order transaction for place, ticket, or goods between business owners or service providers with consumers. In travel reservation, especially in Malang, people do some travel reservations manually. They reserve the travel by phone to the travel customer service or came to the travel office. Based on the problem, the author made an application called RIVAL (Cari Travel Malang) as one-stop app solution for travel reservation in Malang that runs on mobile platform with android operating system. In this design phase, application is still local or runs on the developer local server and runs online for application testing to several people. With this application it is expected that travel reservation that are initially carried out manually by coming to service provider, now it can be done anywhere. The results of the implementation and testing were given to eight respondents with several different versions of the Android operating system namely Android Lollipop, Marshmallow, Oreo, and Pie. It was found that the application runs well without any UI constraints or main functions in the application with additional data response obtained from the test questionnaire form that the application is easy to understand from the user interface, provided information, and easy to use. With this application, it is expected travel reservation in Malang can be done easily and efficiently. Keywords: Mobile application, reservation, travel application.
