Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors that influence farmers' decision-making in the adoption of the New Planting Area Expansion (PATB) program in Ngargotirto Village. This research method is a quantitative method with survey techniques. The sampling technique of this study is proportionate stratified random sampling. This method of research analysis is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that factors that influence farmers' decision-making with a significance rate of 95% simultaneously had a significant effect on farmers' decision-making in the adoption of the New Planting Area Expansion (PATB) program in Ngargotirto Village. Partially, the age variables, experience of trying to farm, and formal education had no significant effect, with nonformal education variables, information sources, companion roles, and government support partially significantly affecting farmers' decision-making in the adoption of the New Planting Area Expansion (PATB) program in Ngargotirto Village.

Abstract

Waste cooking oil is a common household waste that is often improperly disposed of, leading to environmental pollution and potential health risks. The increasing consumption of cooking oil contributes to the growing volume of waste oil, while public awareness regarding proper management remains limited. Improper disposal practices, such as pouring waste oil into drainage systems or soil, can degrade water quality, disrupt aquatic ecosystems, and increase pollution indicators such as Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). This study aimed to improve community knowledge and skills in managing waste cooking oil through environmentally friendly soap-making training. The program was conducted by students of the Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Sebelas Maret through counseling and hands-on training for members of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) in Jatiroyo Village. A participatory and practice-based approach (learning by doing) was applied, incorporating zero waste principles (reduce, reuse, recycle). The program involved 45 participants and included stages such as environmental education, demonstration, and direct practice of soap production. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of environmental and health impacts, with approximately 90% of participants able to independently produce soap after the training. The program also increased environmental awareness and practical skills, showing strong potential as a sustainable waste management solution and an opportunity for community-based economic empowerment..

Abstract

Developing nations continue to face the disproportionate burden of anemia worldwide. Fatigue and impaired cognitive performance in teenagers, as well as impaired motor and behavioral development in children, are all symptoms of this disorder. There is a substantial risk of iron insufficiency in teenage females since their daily iron needs are about 11 mg. In order to sustain development and compensate for iron losses that occur naturally, including during menstruation, the body's iron needs rise throughout adolescence. Adolescent girls at SMA Swasta Nusantara Lubuk Pakam were the subjects of this research, which sought to examine the correlation between anemia rates and variables such nutritional intake and knowledge. The Spearman Correlation test was used to analyze the data in a cross-sectional research. With a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), the statistical test findings demonstrated a strong correlation between dietary consumption and knowledge and the occurrence of anemia. With p-values for carbohydrates (1.000), protein (0.716), and fat (0.062) all higher than 0.05, there was no statistically significant correlation between macronutrient consumption and the prevalence of anemia. Because of this, researcher may infer that dietary carbs, proteins, and fats do not contribute to the prevalence of anemia, and we reject the alternative hypothesis (Ha) for this variable.
