Abstract

Klaten Regency is dominated by the agricultural sector, especially rice. Rice productivity in Klaten Regency has decreased from year to year. This is due to the lack of ability of farmers to create independence in rice farming. The independence of farmer group members will run smoothly if the farmers in Polanharjo District are able to consciously take the initiative in creating independent farming for more advanced agriculture. This study aims to 1) analyze the independence of farmer group members in cultivating rice 2) analyze the factors forming the independence of farmer group members in cultivating rice 3) analyze the relationship between the factors forming the independence of farmer group members and the independence of farmer group members in cultivating rice in Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency. The method used in this research is quantitative with the Spearman Rank test..

Abstract

This study aims to examine the roles of the wife in making red coffee-picking decisions in Temanggung Regency, Central Java. This research focuses on identifying and understanding the role of the wife in the decision-making process related to picking red coffee, as well as the factors that influence their involvement and contribution to these activities. The research method used is a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques and direct observation. Data were collected from several coffee farming families in Temanggung, including from farmers who have active participation from their wives in farming activities. The results of the study show that the role of the wife in making decisions on picking red coffee in Temanggung contributes to various stages of the agricultural process, from land preparation to post-harvest. The role of the wife includes selecting coffee varieties, setting planting schedules, selecting methods and timing of picking, and planning the use of resources and labor. In addition, the wife also plays a role in managing family finances and allocating resources for investment in coffee cultivation. The wife's social role is also seen in forming good relations with other community members, such as in organizing cooperation activities or participating in farmer organizations.

Abstract

Realising the commitment to develop the agricultural sector requires quality human resources. The millennial generation is the right target for the realisation of transformations that will change the way farmers undergo agricultural business management both in terms of quality and quantity In the perspective of accelerating the dissemination of technological innovation, it is necessary to carry out mentoring activities for the millennial farmer movement. One of the assistance is done through the implementation of technical guidance. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the technical guidance method in increasing farmers' knowledge in Soppeng Regency and Wajo Regency by looking at differences in pre-test and post-test scores through the Wilcoxon test and seeing the relationship between participant characteristics and the results of pre-test and post-test scores. The results of the study showed that the technical guidance method had an effect on improving farmers' knowledge as seen from the difference in pre-test and post-test scores. Abstract

Produksi porang di Indonesia saat ini masih terjebak dalam sarang laba-laba. Kondisi tersebut mendorong beberapa petani porang di Kabupaten Sukoharjo untuk mendirikan komunitas yang diberi nama Komunitas Sahabat Petani Porang Sukoharjo (SPPS). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengkaji kemandirian Komunitas Sahabat Petani Porang Sukoharjo dalam pemasaran porang dan 2) Mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi kemandirian Komunitas Sahabat Petani Porang Sukoharjo dalam pemasaran porang. Metode dasar yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, khususnya melalui pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode purposive location pada Komunitas Sahabat Petani Porang Sukoharjo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode random sampling dan terpilih 33 warga masyarakat sebagai responden. Analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linier berganda. Hasil analisis regresi linier berganda menunjukkan bahwa variabel kapasitas sumber daya manusia (0,003) dan variabel bentuk kemitraan (0,014) secara parsial mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemandirian Masyarakat Sahabat Petani Porang Sukoharjo dalam pemasaran porang dengan membandingkan nilai sig dengan 5% (0,05) tingkat signifikansi. Sedangkan variabel kepemimpinan tokoh masyarakat dan variabel dukungan pemerintah secara parsial tidak mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemandirian Masyarakat Sahabat Petani Porang Sukoharjo dalam pemasaran porang.

Abstract

Fulfillment of nutritious and sufficient food is the human right of every Indonesian people to create quality human resources. One of the programs and activities that have been implemented to support the food security program is the sustainable food program. The success of this program is participation that is related to the socio-economic characteristics of the farmers themselves. This research aims to (1) determine the socio-economic characteristics of women farmers in Gemawang District (2) examine the participation of women farmers in the sustainable food program in Gemawang District (3) analyze the relationship between socio-economic characteristics and the level of participation of women farmers in the sustainable food program in Gemawang District. The basic method used in this research is quantitative research, using research instruments such as questionnaires. The population was 37 people with census sampling. Data analysis used the spearman rank test using the IBM SPSS 25 application. The study showed a significant relationship between the socio-economic characteristics of non-formal education, farming experience and perceptions of the goals and benefits of women farming participation in the sustainable food program in Gemawang District, Temanggung Regency.

Abstract

The Sustainable Food Yard Program is a program that focuses on the utilization of fruit and vegetable cultivation in yards. One of the implementations is the Lismatu Bhakti Women Farmer Group, the Ngudi Barokah Farmer Group, and the Sumber Gede Farmer Cadets Group. All three groups are in Matesih District, Karanganyar Regency. However, in its implementation, there are various obstacles, such as the allocation of funds in the middle of the year, low group participation, the fact that the group is not yet solid, and the lack of an evaluation from PPL or the local office. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with purposive sampling of informants and snowball sampling. The evaluation model used is context, input, process, and product (CIPP). The data collection process was obtained from Forum Group Discussion (FGD), in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documents. Data validity was determined through source and method triangulation. The results of the study obtained three (3) evaluation criteria, namely fulfilled, not fulfilled, and not fulfilled based on the 2021 P2L technical guidelines. It was found that the context aspect was not fulfilled because the group was not yet solid and member participation was low, while the input and process aspects had been fulfilled because they were in accordance with the directives of the technical guidelines and there were funds of Rp. 50,000,000 that were used for the four main activities of the P2L program. Furthermore, the product aspect has not been fulfilled because the P2L program has not had a significant impact on groups or the community.

Abstract

The women’s empowerment program through ginger and galangal cultivation was initiated by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Combiphar Inc. This program aims to improve the welfare and capacity of women farmers. Initially, this program was welcomed enthusiastically by members of the target women’s farmer groups (KWT), but there was a decline in KWT member participation in the second planting period. This research aims to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors in the process of empowering KWT Karya Makmur II in ginger and galangal cultivation carried out by CSR of Combiphar Inc. This research uses a descriptive qualitative analysis method with a case study approach. In this research, the informants involved included members of KWT Karya Makmur II, the Persada Yogyakarta Foundation as Combiphar’s partner, the Agriculture and Food Service, Field Agricultural Extension Officers (PPL), as well as the local community. Data collection techniques were carried out using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation as well as using Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis. The research results show that leadership, cooperation, policy and technology are supporting factors in the empowerment process of KWT Karya Makmur II in ginger and galangal cultivation. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include dependency, commitment, organizational management, and marketing. Research findings reveal that the success of empowerment programs depends not only on technical factors but also on social and institutional factors. This provides important recommendations for further CSR program development, namely the need for a holistic approach that takes into account socio-economic aspects and institutional capacity in community empowerment efforts.

Abstract

The Ciherang variety developed by the Department of Agriculture’s Research Center is useful for increasing rice productivity and obtaining varieties that are resistant to pests and diseases. Bangkalan Regency seeks to support agricultural development by introducing the Ciherang variety as a step to increase production and the welfare of farmers in the region. The ability to accept an idea is different for each individual, including farmers. Therefore, this study needs to be conducted to determine the factors of farmer characteristics in the level of adoption of Ciherang rice cultivation in Bangkalan Regency. This study aimed to determine the relationship between farmer characteristic factors and the level of adoption of Ciherang rice cultivation in Bangkalan Regency. This research uses quantitative methods, including field survey techniques and purposive sampling techniques, to determine the research location in Bangkalan Regency. The research sample was taken as many as 60 farmers using proportional random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study used the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that internal and external factors of farmer characteristics in the form of age, education level, farming experience, land tenure status, and information sources have a significant correlation to the level of adoption of Ciherang rice cultivation in Bangkalan Regency. In contrast, farm size and extension worker intensity do not have a significant correlation with the level of adoption of Ciherang rice cultivation in Bangkalan Regency.

Abstract

The agricultural sector is faced with the challenge of lack of human resource regeneration due to the low interest of the younger generation to pursue agriculture. One of the government's efforts to support the regeneration of farmers is by increasing interest in agricultural entrepreneurship through the Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Support Services (YESS) Program in collaboration with various parties, one of which is agricultural extension agents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of agricultural extension agents and identify the supporting aspects and inhibiting aspects of agricultural extension agents in the implementation of the YESS program in Pacitan District. The basic method of this research is descriptive qualitative with a purposive and snowball method of determining informants with a total of 25 people. Data collection techniques by means of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation and using Miles and Huberman interactive data analysis techniques. Data validity uses triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that agricultural extension agents in the YESS program in Pacitan District overall carried out their roles as educator, motivator, facilitator, innovator, consultant, and communicator with good categories, while for the role of evaluator in the category was quite good because agricultural extension agents were not involved in organizing evaluations directly, but the evaluation was carried out by the Monitoring and Evaluation Team from the District Implementation Team (DIT) and the Provincial Project Implementation Unit (PPIU). Supporting aspects for the role of agricultural extension agents are the good quality of agricultural extension human resources, the high motivation of the younger generation, and the support of various stakeholders. While inhibiting aspects are inadequate BDSP / BPP facilities, the lack of agricultural extension human resources, and the absence of agricultural extension duties related to the YESS program.

Abstract

Strengthening social capital in the development of organic farming is very important because organic farming often involves farming communities working together to achieve common goals. The Mulyo 1 Farmers Group is indeed one of the farmer groups that has succeeded in implementing organic farming, but until now there are still problems in developing organic farming. There are concerns about organic farming activities in the Mulyo 1 Farmers Group because some farmers, especially the elderly, are currently unable to make organic fertilizer alone. This study uses a qualitative method. There were 10 informants in the research, some of whom were determined purposively, then the rest were selected by snowballing. Data analysis was carried out by triangulating sources and methods. The results of the research show that (1) the elements of social capital in the Mulyo 1 Farmers Group include, (a) trust which is maintained by honesty and openness, (b) the norms of the Mulyo 1 Farmers Group are harmony and tolerance, mutual respect, and being fair, (c) the network in the Mulyo 1 Farmers Group was formed through cooperation and communication. The obstacles to the Mulyo 1 Farmers Group in developing organic farming are the old age of the farmer group members and the lack of initiative of the farmer group members.
