Abstract

salah satu penyebab terjadi IBS karena terjadi ketidakseimbangan fungsi serotonin. Serotonin. Banyak ditemukan di saluran gastrointestinal.   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek relaksi  fraksi  daun  belimbing  wuluh  pada  otot  polos  ileum  yang  diinduksi  serotonin  pada reseptor   5HT3. Efek relaksasi Fraksi n-Heksan daun belimbing wuluh (FnHDBW), fraksi etil asetat daun belimbing wuluh (FEADBW) dan Fraksi sisa (FSDBW) dikontraksikan dengan se ri konsentrasi serotonin  (10-8  M sampai 3x10-4  M) dilakukan secara in vitro menggunakan organ ileum tikus yang diisolasi dalam larutan tirode. FEADBW memiliki nilai persen relaksasi dannilai  AUC  yang  paling  tinggi  dibandingakn  dengan  FnHDBW  dan  FSDBW  yaitu  sebesar80,01±1,57% dan 309,8278 ± 3,2527. Kesimpulan penelitian ini,  FnHDBW,  FEADBW danFSDBW memiliki efek reaksasi yang diinduksi oleh serotonis (5HT). Kata Kunci: serotonin, 5HT3, daun belimbing wuluh

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, a disease caused by Aedes aegypti, can be prevented by reducing larval density using natural larvicides. This research aimed to investigate the natural larvicide effectiveness in reducing the Aedes aegypti larvae density in Medan City in 2023. This quasi-experimental research conducted a pre-test and post-test on the Container Index (CI). The population in this study was 1,057 houses in Ladang Bambu Village, the sample being 150 houses. The treatments were control and Ricinus communis-seed powder at 40 mg, 80 mg, 100 mg, and 120 mg/l doses in ovitraps, placed next to the water reservoir. Consider specifying the unit of measurement for the container index. The container index was calculated before (day 0) and after treatment (day 7). Data were analyzed using paired T-test, one-way ANOVA, and LSD. The results were that the modified ovitrap with the seed of Ricinus communis was effective in reducing the Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae density. The analysis showed a significant difference in the mean CI between the control and the modified ovitrap, the most effective dose in reducing CI being 100 mg/l of water. The community can use the 100 mg/l seed of Ricinus communis in ovitraps as an eco-friendly vector control.

Abstract

Skin whitening products are one of the cosmetic products that contain active ingredients that can inhibit the formation of melanin or eliminate melanin that has already formed so gives the skin a whiter color. Limited knowledge about various cosmetic products bleach means that people do not know the negative impacts that can arise if they are not careful. Mercury, hydroquinone and retinoic acid are some of the active substances that are often misused by illegal cosmetic manufacturers. This activity was carried out with the aim of providing knowledge and skills to the community, especially students of Al Washliyah 3 Medan Private Vocational School. This activity is carried out using the counseling method and questions and answers about the material the dangers of using whitening cosmetics containing mercury and hydroquinone are continued with training to check cosmetic registration numbers at BPOM using an Android cellphone. From that activity carried out, it turns out that there are still many patients who do not know the dangers of using mercury, hydroquinone and retinoic acid in whitening cream and don't know how to check the registration number. cosmetics on the market. From this community service activity, it is hoped that students will know more about the dangers of mercury, hydroquinone and retinoic acid and can check directly on ordinary cosmetic products used everyday.

Abstract

Onei eixamplei of a plant that can loweir blood glucosei leiveils is Afrika Leiaf and Asoka Floweir which contains flavonoids to loweir blood glucosei by increiasing ceill seinsitivity to insulin and stimulating insulin reileiasei in pancreiatic β ceills. To deiteirminei thei eiffeict of Afrika leaves and Asoka Floweir eixtract in loweiring blood glucosei leiveils compareid to glibeinclamidei. Expeirimeintal study using 25 rats induceid by alloxan and divideid into 5 groups. Group 1 (neigativei control) CMC Na 1%, group 2 (positivei control) glibeinclamidei dosei 0.45 mg/kg, group 3 Afrika leiaf and Asoka floweir eixtract dosei 100+50 mg/kgBB, group 4 Afrika leiaf and Asoka floweir eixtract dosei 200+100 mg/kgBB and group 5Afrika leiaf and Asoka floweir eixtract dosei 300+150 mg/kgBB. Extraction using maceiration meithod with 96% eithanol solveint. From thei reisults of thei study eiach treiatmeint group eixpeirieinceid a deicreiasei in blood glucosei leiveils. Of thei 5 treiatmeint groups, thei deicreiasei in blood glucosei leiveils that was comparablei to that of glibeinclamidei was thei Afrika Leiaf and Asoka Floweir eithanol eixtract group at a dosei of 300+150 mg/Kg BB.

Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is a condition of high lipid concentration which is characterized by increased concentrations of triglycerides, LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein), blood cholesterol that exceeds normal limits which is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Kersen leaf has contains secondary metabolites of flavonoids and saponins which are thought to reduce cholesterol levels in the blood. The aim of this study was to determine the antihyperlipidemic effectiveness of ethanol extract of kersen leaf (EEDK/EEKL) in fructose-induced male white rats. Testing the effectiveness of antihyperlipidemia was carried out using an experimental method using fructose-induced male rats as test animals. The test animals were divided into 5 groups, namely negative control (CMC Na 1%), positive control of simvastatin (0.9 mg/kgBB), EEDK dose of 350 mg/kgBB, EEDK dose of 400 mg/kgBB, EEDK dose of 500mg/kgBB. Cholesterol levels were measured using the point of care testing (POCT) method. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using the one way ANOVA test. The results of the analysis showed that there were significant differences between the negative control, positive control, EEDK 350 mg/kg, EEDK 400 mg/kg and EEDK 500 mg/kg (P<0.05). The decrease in cholesterol levels increased in line with the increase in the dose of cherry leaf ethanol extract. The most effective EEDK as antihyperlipidemia is the EEDK at a dose of 500 mg/kg BW. There was no significant difference between the positive control and the 500 mg/kg BW EEDK dose (P>0.05). Based on the results of the statistical analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of cherry leaves has an antihyperlipidemic effect on rats.

Abstract

Background: Drug-related health problems in Indonesian society continue to increase over time. The majority of these problems arise because of the public's perspective which does not yet understand the proper and correct use and handling of medicines. The DAGUSIBU drug program is one of the right solutions to overcome this problem. Objective: This service aims to increase the knowledge of students at Al Razi Sinar Harapan Vocational School Medan Johor regarding how to obtain, use, store and dispose of medicines properly. Method: This activity is carried out using an educational method starting from how to use it to the correct disposal of medicines, then interactive discussions, demonstrations as well as eval_uation and monitoring through post tests and pre tests. Results: The socialization activities ran smoothly with participants who were cooperative and enthusiastic in participating in the program. On the other hand, based on the post-test results, it shows that participants better understand the concept of DAGUSIBU medication correctly, so they can minimize errors in drug use. Conclusion: With this socialization, students at Al Razi Sinar Harapan Vocational School Medan Johor can apply the knowledge they have gained to their environment and family.

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is one of the leading risk factors for cardiovascular disease, with increasing global preval_ence. The use of medicinal plants as complementary therapy offers a promising alternative, one of which is winged bean leaves (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus L.), known for their flavonoid and antioxidant content. This community service activity aimed to educate the public on the potential benefits of winged bean leaves in managing high cholesterol levels. The method involved health education sessions, interactive discussions, and leaflet distribution to patients and their families at Sembiring Hospital. Results showed a 73.5% increase in participants' knowledge after the educational intervention. Education on the use of herbal remedies such as winged bean leaves plays an important role in promoting natural and accessible approaches to hypercholesterolemia prevention and management.
