Abstract

Satu Data Indonesia merupakan inisiatif pemerintah Indonesia dalam menyediakan data berkualitas yang kredibel, akuntabel, dan terkini. Urgensi implementasi SDI masih dihadapi oleh banyak tantangan, seperti standar data yang tidak terpenuhi, tidak konsistennya data dan distribusi data yang sulit diakses, serta kurangnya koordinasi antara pemilik data. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut diperlukan pendekatan manajemen basis data secara komprehensif melalui penggunaan data warehouse untuk mendukung proses pengambilan keputusan. Dalam memastikan efektivitas pembangunan data warehouse untuk mendukung Satu Data Indonesia dibutuhkan Focus Group Discussion yang melibatkan para pemangku kepentingan terkait. FGD bertujuan untuk menjalin kesepakatan kerja (SPK) dengan para Pimpinan instansi perangkat daerah di Kota Tarakan guna mencapai hasil optimal dalam pengembangan sistem database. Metode Ceramah dan Diskusi digunakan dalam kegiatan FGD sebagai upaya pengembangan data warehouse. Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini dilakukan oleh Dosen Politeknik Bisnis Kaltara telah berjalan sesuai rencana dengan diskusi interaktif dan partisipasi peserta yang sangat aktif.

Abstract

Over the years, MSMEs have traditionally marketed their products in physical markets. However, as technology and the Internet have advanced, consumer behavior has shifted towards digital markets. This shift has presented new challenges for MSMEs in a highly competitive market. To address this, a community service initiative has been launched in the form of a radio talkshow. This community service activity is carried out in the form of a talk show on the radio, using the interview method on the talk show on the radio, Lecturers from the Politeknik Bisnis Kaltara share knowledge, experience, and practical strategies that can help MSMEs in expand market reach, increasing operational efficiency, and facing various challenges that arise in the increasingly competitive and dynamic digital market environment. Community service activities in the form of a talk show on the radio are an important educational tool for Lecturers at the Politeknik Bisnis Kaltara to disseminate knowledge and provide valuable insights to MSMEs operating in the digital market facing competition in the digital market.

Abstract

Websites and cloud computing are strategic foundations for supporting digital marketing, education management, and marketing strategies in primary and secondary education schools. The website functions as an official information centre that conveys the achievements that have been achieved by the school, activities, and superior programs, as well as a marketing tool to build school branding. Cloud computing technology supports efficient data management, collaboration, and marketing optimization. This study aims to review the role of websites and integration of productivity suite platforms in supporting digital marketing for education management in primary and secondary education schools, as well as the implementation of effective marketing strategies for non-profit schools. With strong branding, effective marketing communications, and data-driven analytics, schools can increase visibility, public trust, and audience engagement. The integration of technologies such as productivity suite platforms further strengthens the operational efficiency and effectiveness of school marketing. This study is expected to provide valuable insights for stakeholders in the field of education regarding best practices and innovative strategies in utilizing websites and cloud computing technology to achieve school goals in the digital era.

Abstract

The library is a essential educational service unit supporting schools' learning and teaching process. As a source of information and knowledge, the library provides various resources, such as books, journals, and other learning media, which can be utilized by students, teachers, and school staff to enrich their insights and improve the quality of education. This study uses the Database Life Cycle method to design an effective and integrated relational database model for the school library system. This method includes the stages of needs analysis, conceptual design, logical design, physical design, and implementation and testing. Through the design and implementation process, a library database model is produced consisting of 8 main tables, the table is anggota, jenis anggota, siswa, guru, staf_tu, buku, letak_buku, and peminjaman. These tables are related to each other to maintain data integrity and facilitate the process of processing information related to the library. The final results show that the designed library database can support all library activities and services effectively, from member data management, book catalogs, and borrowing to reporting. This database has been proven to receive data well through testing and is ready to be implemented in a more comprehensive library information system.

Abstract

MSMEs play a vital role in the Indonesian economy, contributing around 60% of the Gross Domestic Product. However, many MSMEs still face challenges in utilizing digital technology to effectively market their products and services. This community service activity aims to increase the understanding and capabilities of MSME actors in implementing digital marketing strategies. Through an interactive talk show session at RRI Tarakan, resource persons from Politeknik Bisnis Kaltara shared knowledge and experience on the use of social media, website optimization, and the use of e-commerce platforms. This strategy is aimed at expanding market reach, increasing product visibility, and strengthening customer relationships. By participating in this activity, it is hoped that MSME actors can increase their competitiveness and business growth using digital technology in their marketing strategies. In addition, this activity can also encourage the sustainability of the program in the future by involving key stakeholders, such as local governments and universities. This collaboration is expected to be able to design programs that are in line with the needs and challenges faced by MSMEs, so that it can help improve the ability of MSME actors to utilize digital technology to develop their business.

Abstract

Effective and efficient information management is essential in various sectors, including the educational environment. This study aims to design an archiving database system that can improve the efficiency of archive management at SMP Negeri 13 Tarakan. The method used in this study is the Database Life Cycle, which includes the stages of database planning, system definition, requirements collection and analysis, database design, and DBMS selection. The results of this study are a database system consisting of 11 main tables, namely detail_surat_masuk, surat_masuk, pelaporan_surat_masuk, referensi_kategori_surat, gtk, kontak_gtk, pelaporan_surat_keluar, surat_keluar, pihak_eksternal, pengguna, dan referensi_peran. This database system allows recording, searching, and reporting of archival data in a more systematic and organized manner. The integration of XAMPP, MySQL, and phpMyAdmin technologies provides efficiency, dynamism, and scalability advantages, thus enabling the development of responsive, adaptive, and customizable web applications to the needs of an ever-growing organization. Database design is produced through several stages. Namely, planning, needs analysis, conceptual and physical database design, and implementation using phpMyAdmin and MySQL. These design stages are carried out systematically to ensure that the database system built can support effective and efficient archive management. In addition, further development can include improving data security to keep stored information safe and accessible only to authorized parties

Abstract

Oil palm has a crucial role in the National economy, where its productivity depends on the soil chemical properties of the soil. In practice, monitoring methods carried out using conventional methods can be time-consuming and expensive. Therefore, a more efficient approach is needed. By reviewing previous research, this study highlights the latest developments, challenges, opportunities, and future directions in utilising the Internet of Things and Geographic Information Systems for monitoring soil chemical properties in oil palm plantations, thereby supporting more productive and sustainable management. The descriptive method was applied in this literature review research to 26 relevant articles selected from various publication databases, covering the time frame from 2020 to 2024. This study examines the development of IoT sensors for monitoring soil parameters, including humidity, pH, and temperature, in real-time, as well as the application of GIS for spatial analysis and data visualization. The results highlight the significant potential of integrating IoT and GIS to provide efficient real-time data and spatial analysis, thereby supporting more precise land management and informed decision-making, particularly concerning soil fertility and fertilizer use.

Abstract

The present study aims to design a mobile application dictionary that caters to students' needs for enhancing IT-focused English vocabulary. The study explores the effectiveness of the designed mobile application in improving students' IT-focused English vocabulary, their engagement in vocabulary learning, and their overall satisfaction with the application. This research aims to design a mobile application dictionary to enhance IT-Focused English Vocabulary. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative interviews and a quantitative survey, to understand the design requirements, implementation strategies, and effectiveness of the mobile application dictionary. The qualitative phase involves semi-structured interviews with IT students and subject matter experts to gain insights into the learners' challenges, preferences, and needs, as well as the crucial IT English vocabulary concepts. The quantitative phase evaluates the impact of the mobile application dictionary on IT students' vocabulary knowledge, confidence, and overall satisfaction through a survey. The integrated findings will provide a comprehensive understanding of the factors that contribute to the success of mobile application dictionaries in enhancing IT students' informatics English vocabulary, with practical implications for the development of similar language learning tools.

Abstract

Perancangan Sistem Informasi yang efektif pada Perguruan Tinggi perlu mempertimbangkan berbagai aspek pengembangan sistem informasi. TOGAF merupakan framework Enterprise Architecture yang umum digunakan untuk membangun arsitektur yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan proses bisnis. TOGAF ADM 9.2 dalam penelitian ini digunakan sebagai metode pengembangan arsitektur sistem informasi akademik di Politeknik Bisnis Kaltara. Sistem informasi yang dirancang menghasilkan gambaran tentang model desain sistem informasi yang memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna. Model ini terdiri dari empat fase: Arsitektur Visi, Arsitektur Bisnis, Arsitektur Sistem Informasi, dan Arsitektur Teknologi. Masing-masing fase digunakan oleh pengguna untuk mendukung proses bisnis yang ada. Dengan menggunakan Framework TOGAF ADM 9.2 sebagai model pengembangan arsitektur, maka gambaran tentang model desain sistem informasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna dapat diidentifikasi. Adanya perancangan dalam model desain sistem, dapat meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan akademik dan memungkinkan aktivitas akademik berjalan lebih efektif dan efisien.
