Abstract

The establishment of a national innovation system is necessary to encourage innovation and socio-economic development. The most important thing in the innovation system is the collaboration of academic, business, community, and government in the innovation ecosystem. The purpose of this study is to determine the actors involved from each entity in the innovation ecosystem, the relationship between actors, and the impact of the relationship between actors. Through case study research method with the object of research at Bandung Techno Park at Telkom University, this study investigates the mutual relationship between entities. Value network analysis is then used to model the innovation ecosystem. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection through interviews with 14 speakers representing each entity. The research results obtained that not all entities have actors who involved in the innovation ecosystem. Some obstacles such as the quality of research, lack of researchers’ ability to see market conditions so that innovative products are considered not following the needs of consumers and industries in Indonesia that dominated by agricultural-based industries becomes a difficulty in commercializing technological innovation through licensing. This research shows that BTP’s role as Technology Transfer Officer still has shortcomings to align the results of research from academic with business needs. In addition, government regulation has not fully sided with domestic technological innovations to develop. Keywords: university, innovation ecosystem, value network analysis, qualitative method, techno park.

Abstract

One of the positive results of digital transformation in Indonesia is a fairly advanced startup developed and has contributed to Indonesia’s GDP. The issue of success of several Indonesian startups such as Gojek, Traveloka, Tokopedia, and Bukalapak triggered the community to flock to establish a startup, but the startup was established without going through a business incubation program, while business incubators in Indonesia have been around since 1994 long before the startup was founded. This is different from overseas, where startups such as Airbnb and Dropbox, alumni of business incubators, have achieved more than $30 billion USD. This study was conducted to investigate the startup models and the business incubator services that include 992 startups and 23 business incubators in Indonesia. The analysis technique used in this study is a descriptive analysis by identifying websites of 992 startup and 23 business incubators. Sampling was done by the non-probability sampling method with saturation sampling method (census). The data used are startup registered in Indonesia Mapping & Database Startup 2018 and business incubator in Indonesia. The results show that startups with independent model dominate business in Indonesia, with private ownership and from indigenous people. As for services from business incubators in Indonesia, they have provided key services to create sustainability from technopreneurship. Keywords: startup model, startup ownership, startup origin, business incubator, Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that impact e-government institution performance. E-government is public services with information and communication technology (ICT) to facilitate citizen administration needed. One form of public service is in the field of licensing. The government created a licensing system called Online Single Submission (OSS). The presence of OSS makes it easier for the citizen because it is flexible to decreasing face-to-face meetings with the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and could avoid bad things such as corruption, collusion, and nepotism. This study was conducted to determine the OSS performance assessment in Cilacap through availability efficiency, information security, information quality, service functionality, transparency, and trust. Quantitative data was collected by distributing questionnaires to the citizen who applied for permits in January-May 2022, with as many as 321 samples. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on LISREL 8.8 software. The results all show excellent except for transparency which has good. Therefore this research model could be applied further to measure the performance of e-government. Keywords: e-government, online single submission, performance, structural equation modeling, website

Abstract

Owabong Waterpark is a water tourism object located in Purbalingga District, Central Java. With the title as the most complete water tourism in Central Java, the Owabong Waterpark brand is famous. However, this phenomenon is not supported by the existence of signage and wayfinding as visual identities and information media. The lack of visible signage and wayfinding as directional media and the inconsistency of signage and wayfinding designs make it difficult for visitors to find information. Currently, the existence of signage and wayfinding does not only function as a signpost that can only be appreciated or seen. More than that, for the company itself, innovation from signage and wayfinding can also function as a business medium that can increase company revenue. To create solutions to existing problems, signage and wayfinding designs were developed. The research was conducted using literature methods, observation, interviews, and questionnaires with the results of the Owabong Waterpark signage and wayfinding need a redesign. By carrying out in-depth research and planning a design concept that is mature and in accordance with the existing phenomena in Owabong Waterpark, it is hoped that it will be the right solution to respond to signage and wayfinding problems.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the order of human life in the world, including Indonesia. In order to avoid the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, a health protocol in the form of maintaining a distance between humans must be 1 meter apart. The check-in area at the airport is one of the places that must receive attention in implementing this health protocol. With the health protocol and the addition of checking flight documents at the check-in counter, it causes additional time in the passenger departure process. Therefore, if it is not managed properly, it can become a problem that creates long queues and creates inconvenience to the passengers. In this study using field observations by recording queues at the check-in area of Supadio Pontianak airport on March 18-27 2021 to describe the conditions and time required for each passenger in the queue system at the airport and provide the best queuing simulation that can be used at the airport. Supadio during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This study uses R studio to examine the dynamic behavior of the observed data. Exploration of the dynamic behavior of the data is done by entering the observed data into the Simmer simulation model. From the results of the observation data will be the baseline to be tested and the best will be selected as the baseline model. The baseline model uses a Markovian model with stochasticity represented by exponential, Poisson, erlang and normal distributions for arrival time, inter-arrival and service. The criteria for selecting the best model is a model based on parameters obtained from observation data which gives the best total time and waiting time. Then to be able to get a model that is flexible and can be used as an extrapolation to the normal period, it is necessary to do stress analysis. Stress analysis of the baseline model is carried out by introducing the q factor. The q factor serves as a rate multiplicator. The model will be in a more stressful condition as the value of q increases. The simulation uses the Baseline model which is applied to the stress test (Extrapolation-n model), where it can be concluded that the current check-in system is quite resilient to changes in passenger load. In other words, with the current service time and check-in counters that are always open three times, the passenger arrival speed of 100 times from the pandemic period can still be served without the system experiencing a break down.

Abstract

The paper aims to understand the current readiness level of Industry 4.0 in the food industry. Furthermore, the study explores the prioritized Industry 4.0 dimensions and initiatives needed to improve the readiness level. The study uses an explanatory sequential mixed-method design. In the quantitative phase, the Industry 4.0 readiness assessment was conducted using the Smart Industry Readiness Index framework. The quantitative study further explores the prioritized dimensions using The Prioritization Matrix framework. In the qualitative phase, interviews with industry practitioners from the participating companies were conducted to gain more understanding and propose the conceptual roadmap. The study found that the Indonesian food industry has a better average readiness than the global average but significantly lower than the best-in-class manufacturers. Vertical Integration, Shop Floor Intelligence, Shop Floor Automation, and Workforce Learning & Development are four priority dimensions to increase the readiness level in the food industry. A conceptual roadmap was proposed to improve the readiness index based on the strategic planning horizon, prioritized dimensions, and initiatives identified from interview results. The results of this study would provide an additional reference for applying explanatory sequential mixed-method design. The prioritized dimensions found would also benefit other researchers in the development of the readiness or maturity model. This paper provides a deeper understanding of Industry 4.0 readiness, the prioritized dimensions, and related improvement initiatives to propose the strategic roadmap for the food industry by utilizing explanatory sequential mixed-method design.

Abstract

This research explores the perspective of the challenges of digital business ecosystem players who utilize digital technology in the freshwater fisheries industry in Central Java. Methodology Obtained from ecosystem actor informants through interviews. This research falls under the mix method criteria where qualitative challenge analysis is carried out from triple helix sources (government, universities and industry) which produces challenge clusters so that they are qualitative in nature. natural. in nature. Research can be carried out on SME respondents using number 8. These SMEs assess clusters based on what they face and the obstacles that exist in their industry. Through this mixed method more comprehensive results were obtained, validating the challenge statement. The results of the research show critical clusters that are important and deserve attention for assessing the current situation through quadrant distribution graphs, namely Attitudes and SME Business Actors in Utilizing Digital Business Technology, Business Actors' Mindsets towards Digital Business Technology, Evaluation of Government Support, and Business Readiness Technology Digital. thus creating change for the better as a form of future strategy that is neater and more distributed according to the needs of the actors. Research implications: Data collection using interviews with the group concept mapping method limits researchers in confirming results and invites grouping of collected challenge statements so that the GCM method is not recommended for small studies. In addition, the greater the number of respondents, the more valid the results are for various SME conditions.
