Abstract

This paper discusses traffic performance under major and disruption events on the road network. Traffic on the road network is modelled based on a microsimulation model by considering conditions without disruption, with disruption, and with disruption accompanied by the mitigation schemes. The simulation model used in this paper models the driving behaviour at the micro level that can be used to simulate interactions between vehicles and traffic performance in response to changes in road capacity due to disruption. The model is tested on a road network with significant sports events and potential natural disasters. Traffic flow is estimated based on information from previous events. The results of the microsimulation modelling show that the disruption scenario can reduce road network performance by up to 43%, with total delays that can increase up to five times. In addition, the mitigation schemes to reduce the disruption contribute to maintaining good traffic performance. This paper's framework can potentially be used to assess the impact of traffic disruptions during significant events. Furthermore, it can evaluate alternative strategies to overcome the disruption.

Abstract

A level crossing between railways and roads is one of the critical traffic elements in a road network system as it can cause significant delays and long queues, especially when the crossing is part of an urban road network. This study aims to analyze traffic performance at level crossings using a microsimulation approach with the PTV VISSIM software. The model is designed to explicitly simulate the interaction between trains and vehicles by utilizing features such as priority rules, public transport lines, and reduced speed areas, and calibrating it based on field data. This research takes a case study of the level crossing at Jalan Abdul Rahman Saleh – Nurtanio, Bandung City. Data collection was conducted through direct observation via field surveys and data from supporting literature documents. The analysis results indicate that the existing traffic performance is at a Level of Service F, with an average intersection delay exceeding 60 seconds per vehicle. Microsimulation recommends the construction of a grade-separated intersection as a solution to improve traffic performance in the future.

Abstract

Kemudahan pergerakan dalam perencanaan transportasi dinilai menggunakan indikator seperti aksesibilitas,waktu perjalanan, dan biaya. Konektivitas sangat penting bagi jaringan transportasi, terutama di simpul-simpulseperti terminal di mana pergantian moda terjadi. Makalah ini menganalisis konektivitas di terminalpenumpang Bandara Internasional Dhoho Kediri, yang direncanakan sebagai simpul yang melayani wilayahbarat daya Jawa Timur. Sebagai pusat transportasi, bandara ini harus memfasilitasi pergerakan masyarakat danmemberikan kenyamanan bagi penumpang. Oleh karena itu, analisis difokuskan pada konektivitas antarmodadari perspektif pejalan kaki di dalam terminal. Metode yang digunakan adalah model mikrosimulasi pergerakanpenumpang untuk meminimalkan waktu tunggu dan kepadatan antrean, sehingga meningkatkan kenyamananpenumpang saat berganti moda. Meningkatkan konektivitas antar moda di bandara ini dapat mengoptimalkanfungsinya sebagai simpul jaringan transportasi.
