Abstract

Abstract

Inclusive education aims to provide equal learning opportunities for all students, including those with special needs, within regular educational settings. However, mathematics learning in inclusive classrooms remains challenging because mathematical concepts are often abstract and require logical reasoning that may not be easily accessible to learners with diverse cognitive characteristics. Ethnomathematics has emerged as an alternative approach by integrating cultural practices, local wisdom, and students’ daily experiences into mathematics instruction, creating more meaningful and accessible learning environments. This study aims to analyze the development, implementation patterns, opportunities, and research gaps related to ethnomathematics in inclusive mathematics learning. A literature review method was employed by examining scientific publications from 2020–2025 obtained from Google Scholar, Scopus, ERIC, Springer, and ProQuest databases. Data were analyzed through content analysis involving reduction, classification, interpretation, and synthesis. The findings indicate that ethnomathematics has been implemented through cultural artifacts, digital teaching materials, and project-based contextual learning. The approach supports inclusive learning through multi-representational access, instructional adaptations, scaffolding strategies, and collaborative teaching practices aligned with Universal Design for Learning principles. Furthermore, ethnomathematics enhances students’ motivation, conceptual understanding, mathematical literacy, and cultural identity. Nevertheless, studies focusing on disability-specific adaptations and long-term learning outcomes remain limited and require further investigation.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to develop a Wordwall-assisted test instrument to measure students’ mathematical creative thinking skills on the topic of relations and functions for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Sintang, and to determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using a 3D development model consisting of the define, design, and development stages. The research subjects included three material experts, three media experts, and 28 students of class VIII E at SMP Negeri 2 Sintang in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and a mathematical creative thinking skills test. Data analysis was conducted to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the developed product. The results showed that the developed Wordwall-assisted test instrument met the criteria of being highly valid, highly practical, and effective. The validity level, based on assessments by material and media experts, obtained an average percentage of 87.95%, categorized as highly valid. The practicality level, based on teacher and student response questionnaires, obtained an average percentage of 88.86%, categorized as highly practical. The effectiveness level was determined from students’ post-test results, where 20 out of 28 students achieved learning mastery, resulting in a mastery percentage of 71.43%, which falls into the effective category. Therefore, the Wordwall-assisted test instrument on the topic of relations and functions is feasible to be used as an evaluation tool for measuring the mathematical creative thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Sintang. Keywords: Test Instrument, Wordwall, Mathematical Creative Thinking Skills, Relations and Functions.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of students' mathematical problem-solving skills in solving word problems on fraction material and the lack of instructional materials that support active learning. The objectives of this study were to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) on fraction material and to determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants included material experts, media experts, a mathematics teacher, and seventh-grade students of SMP Pesantren Assalam. Data were collected through validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and mathematical problem-solving tests in the form of pretests and posttests. Percentage analysis was used to determine the validity and practicality of the developed LKPD, while its effectiveness was analyzed using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) method. The results showed that the developed Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) met the criteria of highly valid, highly practical, and effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving skills on fraction material. These findings were supported by expert validation, positive responses from teachers and students, and improved learning outcomes based on the N-Gain analysis. Therefore, the developed LKPD is suitable for use as an instructional material to support mathematics learning on fraction material.
