Abstract

Progressive Islam in Muhammadiyah is not to make Islam more advanced, but rather the meaning of progressive Islam is to strengthen the Islamic faith, even though over time, people's beliefs have changed, poisoned by many new ideologies. The purpose of this research is to determine the concept of progressive Islamic education and KH Ahmad Dahlan's thoughts on progressive Islamic education. The research method used is library research, which is a means of finding information or data from scientific papers, book review articles, and literature sources. The sources used in this research are obtained from various books, journals, and other research results such as (theses and dissertations) as well as other sources from the results of tarjih decisions and Muhammadiyah congresses. The results of this study contain that the concept of progressive Islamic education can be understood as Islamic education in which there is a renewal of one's way of thinking or perspective on the development of science and its application to teachers. Meanwhile, KH Ahmad Dahlan's thought regarding the concept of progressive Islamic education is that progressive education does not only emphasize the doctrine of religious (Islamic) pedagogy, but also contains the mission of achieving social pedagogy by providing quality education to all people in Indonesia. This is evidenced by the presence of Muhammadiyah educational institutions in Islamic areas as well as for religious minority believers.

Abstract

Education transformation in Indonesia continues to grow rapidly as the times progress. Many educators, especially in pesantren institutions, complain about this, especially in classical pesantren (salafiyah), there are still many institutions that use the pesantren curriculum with traditional learning methods. The purpose of this research is to find out the extent of curricular transformation in pesantren in the 21st century. The research method used in this research is to use a qualitative approach with the type of library research. The result of this study is that gradually the boarding school has used a modern curriculum and is not lagging behind with the changing times, especially in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of multicultural values into the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum as a means of fostering tolerance in schools. The research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, focusing on several schools in Indonesia that have implemented a multicultural-based PAI curriculum. The findings indicate that integrating multicultural values into PAI enhances students' understanding and tolerance toward religious and cultural diversity. The appropriate implementation of the curriculum, including the use of collaborative learning methods and relevant teaching materials, has proven effective in shaping students' inclusive character and appreciation for differences. However, the study also identifies several challenges, such as the lack of teacher training in delivering multicultural values and resistance to curriculum changes. Despite these challenges, the research highlights that integrating multicultural values into the PAI curriculum has significant potential to create a harmonious school environment and promote the development of a more tolerant society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategies implemented at Bustanul Aisyiyah Ketro 1 to develop noble character and religious identity in early childhood students in the digital era. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used to explore the phenomena in which the influence of digital devices poses specific challenges to character formation. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation to obtain a comprehensive overview of the habituation method through memorization of daily prayers and hadiths, as well as parental involvement in supporting religious education at home. The findings reveal that habituation methods effectively foster religious character; however, the primary challenge of gadget influence necessitates preventive measures through restricted gadget use at school and parental support at home. This study recommends stronger collaboration between educational institutions and parents to optimize character education goals amidst digital challenges.

Abstract

Al-Qur’an merupakan pedoman hidup manusia yang harus dipelajari dan difahami oleh seluruh umat muslim di muka bumi. Mereka yang bisa menghafalkan Al-Qur’an  akan mendapatkan kemuliaan didunia maupun di akhirat. Usia sekolah dasar merupakan waktu yang tepat untuk mengajarkan peserta didik menghafalkan Al-Qur’an  mulai dari surat-surah pendek. SD IIC merupakan sekolah Islam yang terletak di Kabupaten Pacitan yang menerapkan  metode muroja’ah untuk membantu peserta didik menghafalkan surah surah pendek dalam Al-Qur’an. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif . Pengumpulan data melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Hasil Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa metode muraja’ah membantu peserta didik mencapai target hafalan yang telah diprogramkan oleh sekolah, membantu peserta didik menghafalkan Al-Qur’an dengan baik, dan benar sesuai makhraj dan tajwidnya. Setelah diterapkannya metode muroja’ah hafalan peserta didik menjadi lancar fashih, tartil dan mampu menambah hafalan surah pendek dengan cepat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used by Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in instilling noble moral values through the habituation of daily prayers and memorization of short Quranic verses, with a case study at BA Ketro 1. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents, as well as documentation related to the habituation activities conducted at the school. The results of the study indicate that the habituation of prayers and memorization of short verses is implemented in a structured manner, utilizing creative media such as songs, games, and visualizations, designed according to the characteristics of young children. Furthermore, collaboration between teachers, parents, and the community is a key factor in supporting the success of this habituation program. This research makes an important contribution to the development of character education strategies in Islamic-based PAUD institutions, especially in rural areas with distinct socio-cultural potentials. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pemikiran K.H. Ahmad Dahlan mengenai pendidikan karakter berbasis Al-Qur'an serta relevansinya dalam sistem pendidikan Islam modern. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah bagaimana konsep pendidikan karakter yang diusung Ahmad Dahlan mampu membentuk individu yang tidak hanya unggul secara intelektual, tetapi juga memiliki moralitas tinggi dalam menghadapi tantangan globalisasi dan era digital. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pemikiran Ahmad Dahlan dalam merancang sistem pendidikan yang mengintegrasikan ilmu agama dengan ilmu pengetahuan umum. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kepustakaan (library research), di mana data diperoleh dari berbagai sumber literatur terkait. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis konten guna memahami secara mendalam implementasi pemikiran Ahmad Dahlan dalam pendidikan karakter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep pendidikan karakter menurut Ahmad Dahlan menitikberatkan pada integrasi nilai-nilai Al-Qur’an dengan pendidikan umum, guna mencetak individu yang religius, berakhlak, serta adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman. Model pendidikan ini dapat diimplementasikan melalui pembelajaran berbasis nilai, penguatan pendidikan moral, dan program ekstrakurikuler berbasis Islam. Dengan demikian, pemikirannya tetap relevan dalam membangun sistem pendidikan Islam yang komprehensif dan berorientasi pada pembentukan karakter unggul.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana penerapan PAI sebagai landasan karakter anak usia dini dalam Kurikulum PAUD berdasarkan Peraturan Mendikbudristek No.12 Tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model interaktif Miles & Huberman untuk memperoleh gambaran mendalam dan triangulatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BA Baleharjo mengintegrasikan dua kurikulum, yaitu Kurikulum Kementerian Agama dan Kurikulum Aisyiyah, dalam rangka menguatkan pembelajaran karakter yang berbasis nilai-nilai Islam. Kurikulum Aisyiyah memberikan penekanan lebih kuat pada pembelajaran keislaman seperti praktik ibadah, pembiasaan adab, dan pendekatan kontekstual seperti outing class. Selain itu, strategi pembiasaan adab Islami diterapkan melalui keteladanan guru dan kegiatan harian seperti doa bersama, sholat dhuha, makan dengan tangan kanan, dan infaq Jumat. Keteladanan guru, pendekatan berbasis psikologi perkembangan anak, serta keterlibatan orang tua menjadi faktor penting dalam mendukung keberhasilan pembentukan karakter Islami. Implikasi penelitian ini secara teoritis menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter berbasis agama dapat diintegrasikan secara sistematis dalam kurikulum PAUD serta menjadi referensi praktis bagi para guru PAUD dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran yang tidak hanya menekankan aspek kognitif, tetapi juga spiritual dan moral anak secara holistik.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah, an Islamic movement that is still active and continues to develop as a social community organization, has shown a strong commitment to people empowerment. In its efforts to improve the quality of life of the ummah and encourage socio-economic progress, Muhammadiyah has established thousands of charities, including educational institutions from primary to tertiary levels, as well as health institutions such as clinics and hospitals. In addition, Muhammadiyah has hundreds of social institutions, such as orphanages and nursing homes. The movement was founded in 1912 by Kiai Ahmad Dahlan in Yogyakarta as a solution to the various problems faced by Muslims in Indonesia at that time. The research method used in this study is to use a qualitative approach with the type of library research. The purpose of this research is to find out about the theological concept of QS Al-Ashr in empowering people in Muhammadiyah's perspective. The result of this research is Muhammadiyah's approach to people empowerment is based on the concept of Al'Ashr theology, especially in time management and productive actions.

Abstract

The post-truth era presents complex challenges to Islamic Religious Education (IRE), where misinformation and digital manipulation threaten students’ understanding of religious teachings. This study aims to analyze the integration of religious moderation and digital literacy into the IRE curriculum as a strategy to foster critical, ethical, and tolerant learners. Using a qualitative library research approach, data were obtained from books, academic journals, and policy documents related to curriculum development, digital literacy, and religious moderation. The findings indicate that the incorporation of moderation values—such as justice, tolerance, balance, and non-violence—encourages the development of an inclusive and peaceful learning environment. Meanwhile, strengthening digital literacy equips students to critically evaluate online religious content, preventing the spread of misinformation and radical interpretations. Teacher training, community involvement, and adaptive learning strategies such as problem-based learning and AI-assisted analysis are essential for successful implementation. However, challenges remain in terms of infrastructure inequality and teachers’ limited digital competence. Overall, the study concludes that integrating religious moderation and digital literacy in the IRE curriculum is pivotal in shaping a generation that is intellectually discerning, morally grounded, and capable of promoting harmony in the digital age.
