Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas tentang manajemen pelayanan pada Taman Baca Masyarakat Sapo Literasi Kabupaten Karo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui untuk bagaimana manajemen pelayanan pada Taman Baca Masyarakat Sapo Literasi Kabupaten Karo, serta kendala yang dihadapi Taman Baca Masyarakat Kabupaten Karo dalam melaksanakan program. Latar belakang penulisan laporan ini, dikarenakan budaya membaca masyarakat belum dijadikan prioritas. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi sedangkan teknis analisis data dilakukan 3 cara yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Manajemen Pelayanan Pada Taman Baca Masyarakat Sapo Literasi Kabupaten Karo yaiu: (1) manajemen pelayanan TBM Sapo Literasi benar-benar dilaksanakan sesuai perencanaan awal didirikannya dilihat dari visi, misi dan tujuan, kemudia di evaluasi setelah dilakukan kegiatan layanan dan evaluasi akhir tahun. (2) manajemen pelayanan TBM Sapo Literasi dalam meningkatkan literasi yaitu melalui 2 layanan, yakni layanan langsung (inti) dan layanan tidak langsung (pendukung). Kata Kunci: Manajemen Pelayanan, Taman Bacaan Masyarakat Abstract This study discusses service management at the Sapo Literacy Community Reading Park in Karo Regency. The purpose of this study was to find out how service management is at the Sapo Literacy Community Reading Park in Karo Regency, as well as the obstacles faced by the Karo Regency Community Reading Park in implementing the program. The background for writing this report is because the reading culture of the community has not been made a priority. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data collection method used observation, interviews, documentation, while the technical data analysis was carried out in 3 ways, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that Service Management at the Sapo Literasi Community Reading Park in Karo Regency, namely: (1) the management of the Sapo Literasi TBM service was actually carried out according to the initial planning of its establishment in terms of vision, mission and goals, then evaluated after service activities and final evaluations were carried out. year. (2) Sapo Literacy TBM service management in improving literacy, namely through 2 services, namely direct (core) services and indirect (supporting) services. Abstract

This research was conducted at the Secretariat of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD Kota Binjai). The purpose of this research is to find out about how archives are created, used and maintained as well as dynamic archive management constraints so that they can be used according to their functions in the Binjai City DPRD. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This study intends to reveal the phenomena that exist in the field, namely: how to create archives, use and maintain archives and what constraints are faced in archives management. Furthermore, researchers conducted interviews with 3 staff members of the Administration General Section of the Binjai City DPRD Secretariat. research shows that the creation of archives has not been maximized, the Human Resources of the DPRD Kota Binjai have not been optimal in the use and maintenance of archives, there is no person in charge/special officer who handles incoming and outgoing letters up to the archiving stage, archive storage is still done manually, in storage, archives are stored based on the year of the archive so as to make it less optimal and inefficient in the efficiency of the archive, resulting in the archive not functioning according to its function in terms of creating and using and maintaining the archive.

Abstract

This research discusses the Utilization of Digital Technology in the Media Transfer Process of Static Archives at the Medan City Archives Depot Office. The purpose of this research is to find out the extent to which they utilize current digital technology to transfer static archives. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach. By using data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The informants in this study include the head of the section, archivists and staff responsible for the archive section at the Medan City Archives Depot Office, which have been selected by the researcher according to the criteria of the research subject. The results showed that how the static archive media transfer process is there by scanning the data then the data is processed into a simple form in Microsoft Excel then next to the data there is a link that connects to the original file. The utilization of technology at the Medan City Archives Depot Office is not yet optimal because a lot of equipment such as computers is inadequate and there are still very few human resources who take care of archives.

Abstract

This research discusses service strategies during the Covid-19 pandemic in the School Library of SMAN 1 Matauli Pandan, Central Tapanuli Regency. This research method is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. In this research, the research instrument is the researcher himself. The informants were the Matauli Pandan Library manager, library visitors, and several library staff. The results of this research show that the Library Service Strategy of SMAN 1 Matauli Pandan During the Covid-19 Pandemic includes: Washing hands and providing hand sanitizer, library visitors must wear masks, maintain social distancing, library visitors can only be 15 people. only and don't stay too long, library visiting hours are only 08.00-14.00 WIB, extending book borrowing and book return schedules only via WA (Whatsapp), regenerating library users' interest in reading by conducting joint discussion activities, book reviews , and reading books together, as well as other activities carried out virtually. The obstacles faced by librarians and users at the SMAN 1 Matauli Pandan Library during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic lie in the change in services which were previously carried out face-to-face, to be carried out virtually/online. The solution is to carry out activities in the library virtually/online or search for information that users need through the library's OPAC to reduce the number of visitors who come to the library.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana upaya Perpustakaan Pusat Penelitian Kelapa Sawit (PPKS) Medan dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi para peneliti, jenis sumber informasi yang dibutuhkan, serta kendala yang dihadapi dalam proses pelayanan informasi tersebut. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peran penting perpustakaan khusus dalam mendukung kegiatan penelitian, khususnya di bidang pertanian kelapa sawit. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan observasi langsung. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas kepala perpustakaan dan dua pustakawan PPKS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan telah melakukan berbagai upaya dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi peneliti, seperti pemanfaatan SLiMS 9 Bulian, pencarian informasi melalui internet, kerja sama dengan perpustakaan lain, serta pembelian buku berdasarkan permintaan peneliti. Jenis informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh peneliti meliputi buku, jurnal, majalah, CD/DVD, dan koleksi antik. Namun, dalam pelaksanaannya masih terdapat kendala seperti keterbatasan akses terhadap jurnal internasional berbayar dan hambatan administratif yang menyebabkan proses pengadaan bahan pustaka memerlukan waktu yang cukup lama. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi pengelola perpustakaan khusus dalam meningkatkan pelayanan informasi kepada peneliti secara lebih efektif dan efisien.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes pada film Stip dan Pensil yang menggambarkan pentingnya membaca.Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pesan yang terkandung dan bagaimana pengaruh budaya membaca dalam film Stip dan Pensil. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan 2 sumber data yakni observasi dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana penggambaran pentingnya membaca dan pengaruh budaya membaca dalam film Stip dan Pensil melalui 3 tahapan yaitu denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Dari hasil penelitian ini, disimpulkan bahwa membaca mampu meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia, karna wawasan akan semakin bertambah dan memiliki kemampuan mengorganisasikan informasi dengan baik.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Smart House of the Fajar Sejahtera Indonesia Foundation (YAFSI) in Amplas Village. The study aimed to determine the efforts of volunteers in developing cultural literacy programs at the Smart House of the Fajar Sejahtera Indonesia Foundation (YAFSI) in Amplas Village, to identify the factors causing the low implementation of the Smart House's work program in developing cultural literacy for elementary school children at the Fajar Sejahtera Indonesia Foundation (YAFSI) in Amplas Village, and to assess the impact and benefits of the Smart House program on children and the community. In conducting this research, the researcher chose qualitative research with a descriptive approach. To obtain data, the researcher used interview, observation, and documentation techniques. Triangulation of sources technique was employed to test the validity of the data. The results of this study showed that: 1). The efforts of volunteers in developing cultural literacy work programs have been well-implemented, such as providing understanding and strengthening of cultural literacy, the availability of adequate literacy facilities, and collaboration with other organizational institutions. 2). There are several factors that cause the low implementation of the work program, including the lack of awareness or concern among children about information development related to cultural literacy, limited facilities such as reading materials, mutual understanding, and low interest and motivation among children. Therefore, the presence of the Smart House program aims to direct children to continue developing various literacy activities, especially cultural literacy. Given this, the YAFSI Smart House volunteers have introduced various positive and creative work programs to advance cultural literacy development, such as traditional dance activities, storytelling, singing, reading, and more. 3). The impact and benefits provided by the YAFSI Smart House program include children becoming character-based peer educators, having high literacy attitudes, and implementing various activities reflecting cultural literacy development. The impact and benefits for the community include the ability to transform the community to advance in building businesses and entrepreneurship based on local potential.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology in the Society 5.0 era which is very useful for application in the world of education, especially Library Science. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an artificial intelligence that is a model of human intelligence that has been applied in a machine to create intelligent machines that are able to facilitate information activities. There is increasing recognition of the benefits of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the world of education. This research explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the world of education for Library Science students is able to respond to opportunities and improve major strategies to obtain more information on digital literacy. The data in this research was obtained using quantitative methods by taking 45 students majoring in Library Science, UIN North Sumatra, Medan as samples and conducting a literature review of research related to the discussion being researched. It is very rarely mentioned explicitly that artificial intelligence used by library science students is able to provide a huge boost to ideas, creativity, literacy character which is able to encourage the growth of good information for each individual. This research is a discussion that explores the meaning, benefits and challenges of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the digital literacy of library science students at UIN North Sumatra, Medan.

Abstract

This journal discusses the importance of social inclusion-based library transformation in improving community welfare. The background of this research is the social inclusion-based library transformation program initiated by the Head of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. Social inclusion-based libraries provide facilities to the community to develop their potential to improve welfare in various fields. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach involving the Sibolga City Library, Indonesia. In this study, it was found that the transformation of libraries into social inclusion can help communities gain access to information, learning opportunities, and community empowerment. In addition, library transformation can also increase community participation in library activities and help build positive social relationships. This study also shows that library transformation based on social inclusion can improve community well-being in several aspects, such as skills development, literacy, mental health, and cultural identity. However, the challenges faced in the library transformation process are lack of funding, lack of support from the government, and lack of public awareness about the benefits of the library itself. For this reason, government and community support is essential in encouraging the transformation of libraries to be more inclusive and provide better services for the community. Overall, library transformation based on social inclusion can help improve community welfare through access to information, learning opportunities, and overall community empowerment.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the extent to which library science study program students' perceptions of the knowledge of library science study program students in the PTKIN UINSU Medan and UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh environment regarding graduate employment prospects as well as factors inhibiting students' understanding of graduate employment prospects and student expectations science study program towards library science study program in the future, sometimes this department is considered to only function as a book compiler or server, which makes the library science department less interesting and not widely known to many people. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The data analysis technique in this research uses Miles & Huberman's qualitative data analysis technique, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The information obtained by researchers in data analysis is the result of observation, interviews and documentation. The number of informants from this research was 16 people, namely 9 students from UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh and 6 students from UINSU Medan. The informants were determined using a purposive sampling technique who had met the criteria for library science research subjects in the final semester of study program students and had join the department association. The results of this research indicate that the knowledge of students at these two universities regarding the job prospects of IP graduates is quite good. According to students, the most promising job prospects for library science graduates in society are to become librarians and archivists. Knowledge and obstacles in understanding graduate employment prospects are influenced by internal and external factors, internal is oneself while external factors are the surrounding environment. And students' hopes for the library science study program are to become a study program in their field of learning, practice will be much better in the future and support from the campus and government for library science graduates will be given more attention.
