Abstract

This study aims to explore the story of Polycarp as a model of martyrdom and its relevance to religious freedom. The qualitative method of case studies is used with in-depth literature study techniques. The results show that the story of Polycarp represents the values of courage, loyalty, integrity, and sacrifice that are very relevant in contemporary religious freedom struggles. The similarity in the pattern of violations of religious freedom between the time of Polycarp and the modern era reminds us of the urgency to continue fighting for human rights. Polycarp's experience can also inspire and motivate religious minorities who are still struggling to obtain the right to religious freedom.

Abstract

Organic waste, a byproduct of human activities, is capable of decomposing naturally. In Santong Village, the majority of organic waste originates from households, agricultural activities, and leftover food from markets. With agriculture being the primary livelihood for most residents, the accumulation of organic market waste presents an opportunity for local farmer groups to repurpose it for their own needs. This article outlines the training and assistance process for producing liquid organic fertilizer from traditional market waste and discusses its environmental, health, and economic impacts on the Santong Village community. The training and mentoring session took place at the Santong Village Office Hall on January 8, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 WITA. Twenty participants, including village officials, farmer groups, BUMDes representatives, the Agriculture Service, and the Santong Village Student Association, collaborated to ensure the program's sustainability. A participatory approach was employed, incorporating three primary methods: lectures, hands-on practice, and discussions. These methods facilitated better understanding among the farmer groups, enabling them to effectively grasp the materials delivered by the trainers.

Abstract

Halal Food Product Purchase Intention refers to consumers' intention to repurchase products that are certified as halal, thereby fostering trust in the product and its authenticity. The food industry, as a sector susceptible to halal issues, is expected to fully comply with halal standards, particularly as global demand for halal-certified products continues to rise in tandem with the growth of the Muslim population and increasing awareness of halal assurance. One popular culinary product in Garut, Mie Jebew Teh Emil, serves as the object of this study. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of halal labels and halal certification on halal food purchase intention, both directly and indirectly through the mediating variable of halal brand perceived quality. This study employs a quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to 400 respondents through both online and offline means. The instrument used is a Likert-scale questionnaire designed to measure respondents' perceptions of each variable. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach to test the causal relationships among variables. The findings indicate that halal labels and halal certification have a significant influence on halal food purchase intentions, both directly and indirectly through the mediating role of perceived halal brand quality. Moreover, the perceived quality of halal brands also shows a significant effect on consumers' purchase intentions toward halal products. These results were tested at a 95% significance level, leading to the conclusion that trust in halal brand quality plays a significant role in increasing consumers' willingness to purchase halal food products.
