Abstract

This research aims to analyze: (1) Analyze the Political Communication Strategy of Female DPRD Members of Langkat Regency in Winning the 2019 Legislative Election (2) Female DPRD Members of Langkat Regency improve their political image in Winning the 2019 Legislative Election. (3) Female DPRD Members of Langkat Regency succeeded in winning the 2019 Legislative Election. This research uses descriptive methods and a qualitative approach. Using a qualitative approach or often called the Naturalistic method because this research is used in natural conditions (natural settings). Research results; The Political Communication Strategy for Women DPRD Members of Langkat Regency in Winning the 2019 Legislative Election is first: Socialization with citizens is carried out by starting with identification, determining voting centers and embracing permanent voters again. Second, family socialization for legislative candidates. Family influence can also be seen in their choice of political party. Thirdly, political campaigns depend on many factors, including career paths, political communicators, constituents, message strategies and communication media channels. Fourth Women's Community Where women's communities in Langkat Regency are approaching using digital campaigns. Fifth, Form a Winning Team of people trusted by the candidate, for this reason you need to be careful in recruiting to be able to join the campaign team. Female DPRD members of Langkat Regency improve their political image in winning the 2019 Legislative Election. First is the issue of women's representation. Representation of women to become legislative members in Langkat Regency. Second Marketing Concept for Female Legislative Candidates The urgency of women's representation. Langkat Regency Female DPRD members succeeded in winning the 2019 Legislative Election.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the political image-building strategy employed by Bobby Afif Nasution through social media in his effort to win the 2024 North Sumatra gubernatorial election (Pilgub Sumut). Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research draws on data from observations of TikTok and Instagram content, interviews with active voters, and digital documentation collected during the campaign period. The analysis reveals that Bobby Nasution’s imaging strategy consists of four key aspects: personal branding, two-way interaction with the public, digital campaigning, and electability enhancement through positive narratives. This approach demonstrates the effective application of political and digital communication theories, evidenced by his consistent efforts to portray himself as a young, religious, and people-oriented leader. The strategy successfully shaped a positive public perception without employing negative narratives against political opponents, while strengthening emotional closeness with voters, particularly the younger generation. This study highlights the crucial role of social media as a primary channel for political communication in the context of modern electoral contests.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan media sosial WhatsApp dalam komunikasi kelompok tani di Desa Wonosari, Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa, Sumatera Utara. Dalam era digital, penggunaan media baru telah mengubah cara berkomunikasi, termasuk dalam sektor pertanian. Kelompok tani sebagai komunitas berbasis agraris mulai memanfaatkan WhatsApp untuk koordinasi, berbagi informasi pertanian, serta mempermudah komunikasi dengan Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan kajian pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa WhatsApp memberikan efektivitas yang signifikan dalam komunikasi kelompok tani, terutama dalam penyebaran informasi yang lebih cepat, koordinasi yang lebih efisien, serta peningkatan keterlibatan anggota. Namun, terdapat kendala dalam adopsi teknologi, khususnya bagi anggota kelompok tani yang lebih tua dan kurang terbiasa dengan media digital. Selain itu, tantangan lain adalah adanya penyebaran konten yang kurang relevan dalam grup WhatsApp. Untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut, diperlukan pelatihan penggunaan media sosial bagi anggota yang belum terbiasa serta pengelolaan grup yang lebih sistematis, Dengan adanya dukungan dari pemerintah dan PPL. Studi ini memberikan wawasan mengenai perubahan perilaku komunikasi di sektor pertanian akibat adopsi teknologi baru dan implikasinya dalam pengembangan kelompok tani di era digital. Kata kunci: WhatsApp, komunikasi kelompok tani, difusi inovasi, media sosial, pertanian digital Abstract This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of WhatsApp social media in farmer group communication in Wonosari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, North Sumatra. In the digital era, the use of new media has changed the way we communicate, including in the agricultural sector. Farmer groups as agrarian-based communities have begun to use WhatsApp to coordinate, share agricultural information, and facilitate communication with Field Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL). This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, observations, and literature review methods. The results show that WhatsApp provides significant effectiveness in farmer group communication, especially in faster information dissemination, more efficient coordination, and increased member engagement. However, there are obstacles in the adoption of technology, especially for members of farmer groups who are older and less familiar with digital media. In addition, another challenge is the spread of less relevant content in WhatsApp groups. To overcome these obstacles, training in the use of social media for members who are not used to it is needed as well as more systematic group management, with support from the government and PPL. This study provides insight into the changes in communication behavior in the agricultural sector due to the adoption of new technologies and their implications in the development of farmer groups in the digital era. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of influencers in shaping political opinions among voters in the city of Medan. With the increasing use of social media as a source of political information, this study highlights how platforms such as TikTok influence political perceptions and attitudes. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing a case study on the TikTok platform. The results of this study indicate that influencers are not only information providers, but also agents of social change and communication bridges between politicians and the public. The importance of this study is considering that now is the era of everyone using social media platforms, the presence of this study can provide guidance for politicians, political parties, and campaign teams to use influencers strategically and ethically in reaching voters in the election. TikTok is the dominant platform for obtaining political information, while influencers show a critical attitude by verifying the truth of the news received. The conclusion of this study confirms that social media has a significant impact on shaping political opinions. with good digital literacy being the main factor in filtering accurate and reliable information. However, there are challenges in the form of low political literacy and the potential for information bias. Therefore, digital literacy and critical attitudes of voters are the main factors in filtering political information. This study is expected to be a reference in a more ethical and effective political campaign strategy in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the global research landscape regarding public distrust toward the police and its implications for strengthening the legitimacy of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia. This study uses a bibliometric method with a quantitative-descriptive approach to analyze the global landscape of research on public distrust toward the police and its implications for strengthening the legitimacy of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia. Data obtained from Crossref, Scopus, and Google Scholar for the 2020–2025 period using the keywords "police," "legitimacy," "trust," "distrust," and "public perception." The analysis was carried out through network analysis, co-occurrence mapping, and density visualization using VOSviewer. The results of the study show that global research is still focused on the issues of police legitimacy, public perception, and law enforcement, while public distrust has not been studied as an independent variable. Research representation in developing countries, including Indonesia, is still minimal, indicating a contextual gap and the dominance of developed countries' perspectives. Implicitly, this study emphasizes the need to reposition public distrust as an independent conceptual construct and encourage police reform based on procedural fairness by design, transparency through accountability analytics, and strengthening citizen engagement to build public trust and strengthen the institutional legitimacy of the police.

Abstract

Radio Kardopa merupakan salah satu radio yang masih eksis dalam dunia penyiaran di era digital seperti saat ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana strategi komunikasi pemasaran Radio Kardopa dalam meningkatkan minat pemasang iklan. Penelitian ini menggunakan mix marketing dan teori new media. Jenis penelitian, yaitu penelitian kulaitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Sumber data berupa sumber data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi secara langsung dalam pelaksanaan strategi komunikasi pemasaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi pemasaran radio kardopa dalam meningkatkan minat pemasang iklan adalah menggunakan media sosial seperti youtobe, live streaming, facebook, instagram dan tiktok, membuat program yang menarik, paket sponsor, proposal yang menarik dan tim solid. Faktor pendukungnya adalah Radio Kardopa memiliki prestasi pendengar terbanyak di Sumatera Utara dan tim yang solid. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah harga yang cukup mahal dan paket sponsor tidak sesuai dengan pemasang iklan. Solusinya adalah berusaha, berdoa, dan selalu konsisten berkomunikasi dengan klien-klien. Keberhasilan yang diraih yaitu meningkatkan billing iklan menjadi paling tinggi disbanding Radio lain di Sumatera Utara dan mendapatkan pemasang iklan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki permasalahan dalam pemanfaatan media sosial TikTok sebagai sumber informasi berita bagi mahasiswa, yaitu konsumsi berita yang tetap stagnan atau cenderung menurun, pengaruh algoritma, verifikasi kebenaran informasi, dan tanggung jawab pengguna TikTok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan media sosial TikTok sebagai sumber informasi berita bagi mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data meliputi reduction data, display data, dan conclusion drawing and verification. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana mahasiswa memanfaatkan TikTok untuk mengakses informasi terkait perkembangan terbaru dalam berbagai bidang, serta menilai Tingkat kepercayaan dan akurasi informasi yang diperoleh. Meskipun, TikTok dapat menjadi sumber informasi yang cepat dan mudah diakses, mahasiswa perlu meningkatkan literasi digital mereka untuk menyaring informasi secara kritis dan menghindari penyebaran berita (hoax). Selanjutnya, dalam pemanfaatan media sosial TikTok sebagai sumber informasi berita bagi mahasiswa terdapat faktor pendorong, yaitu aksesibilitas, interaktivitas, kreativitas, dan pembaruan real-time. Selain itu, faktor penghambat antara lain kredibilitas, kurangnya standar jurnalistik, masalah regulasi, kedalaman konten berita, dan kurangnya literasi digital dari pengguna

Abstract

The printing industry has undergone significant transformation due to digital technology and changes in consumer behavior. CV. Haikommikom, a printing company, faces challenges in improving the quality of graphic design services and expanding its market. This research aims to analyze the influence of innovative marketing communication strategies on the improvement of graphic design service quality at CV. Haikommikom and evaluate customer perceptions of these service changes. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. The results show that the implementation of marketing strategies through social media, personalized services with data analytics, and the use of advanced design technologies such as CorelDRAW and Photoshop significantly increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. Innovative marketing communication strategies have proven effective in improving the quality of graphic design services at CV. Haikommikom. The implementation of technology and personalized services not only increases customer satisfaction but also strengthens the company's position in the printing and graphic design industry. This finding underscores the importance of adapting technology and customer-focused marketing strategies to maintain competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

This study discusses political communication as an important element in the political system, covering basic concepts, definitions from various perspectives, objectives, and its historical development. Political communication is understood as the process of conveying messages related to power, policy, and distribution of resources in society, which occurs between political actors, institutions, and the public. In addition to reviewing modern concepts, this study also traces the traces of political communication in Islamic history, especially during the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This study shows that the Prophet Muhammad SAW applied the principles of political communication effectively in building a Muslim community, spreading Islamic teachings, managing conflicts, and establishing a state in Medina. Political communication in this context plays an important role in shaping public opinion, strengthening political participation, and delivering strategic information. These findings confirm that political communication has strong historical roots and high relevance in understanding political dynamics, both in classical and contemporary contexts.

Abstract

This paper focuses on direct observation and in-depth analysis to explore various aspects of communication policies used by the North Sumatra Provincial Government to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD). This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. This research occurred at the North Sumatra Provincial Government Headquarters on Jalan Diponegoro No. 30, Madras Hulu, Medan Polonia District, Medan City, North Sumatra. This research lasted for a duration of three months, starting from February 2024 to April 2024. Data sources refer to sources where research data is obtained directly or indirectly. The data collection uses non-participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies; through triangulation techniques, researchers can confirm the correctness of the findings by comparing and verifying various data sources. The results of the study show that the communication strategy of the North Sumatra Provincial Government to increase public understanding of the importance of paying Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) is carried out through an integrative and inclusive approach. Second, the friendly and professional service at Samsat’s offices creates a positive experience that encourages taxpayer compliance. Third, the community is invited to dialogue through participatory education in schools, villages, and public forums to understand the importance of PAD’s contribution. Fourth, collaboration between agencies ensures consistent message delivery and educational law enforcement so that the public is more motivated to obey without feeling intimidated. Meanwhile, the Islamic communication approach applied by the North Sumatra Provincial Government in increasing awareness of paying Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) refers to the principles of Qaulan Sadiidan (right words), Qaulan Layyinan (gentle words), Qaulan Ma’rufan (good words), and Qaulan Balighan (adequate words). The obstacles faced by the North Sumatra Provincial Government (North et al. Government) in informing the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) policy to the public include aspects of transparency, technology, geography, communication, tax education, coordination between agencies, law enforcement and communication disruptions due to language barriers and technological infrastructure.
