Abstract

This study aims to determine the synergy that can be implemented between Islamic Bank and Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) to strengthen unbankable business capital and to assess the application of sharia contracts toward some products provided by BUMDes. The research methodology used qualitative analysis, primary data obtained from informants, namely one branch manager of Islamic Bank of Indonesian (BSI), Pekanbaru branch and 14 BUMDes leaders in Tambang District, Kampar. The results show that first: two forms of synergy can be implemented between BSI and BUMDes to strengthen unbankable business capital, namely BSI finances through BUMDes then distributed to the unbankable micro-entrepreneurs and BSI distributes directly to the unbankable micro-entrepreneurs based on BUMDes recommendation then BSI provides a fee after BUMDes gives the guarantee, second: the application of sharia contracts toward some products supplied by BUMDes currently could use wadi`ah, mudharobah, musyarokah, murobahah, salam, istisna, ijaroh and wakalah.

Abstract

Tambang District has one of the sharia financial villages, namely Kualu Nenas village, so the BUMDes of this village and other villages need to adapt their BUMDes management based on the sharia financial agreement. This service aims to identify the type of business in each BUMDes, increase the knowledge and understanding of BUMDes managers regarding sharia financial contracts, motivate them to convert to using sharia financial contracts and be able to implement sharia financial contracts in their respective BUMDes. The service method is semi participation action research (semi PAR). The service activity begins by identifying the type of business in BUMDes, providing education and literacy about sharia financial contracts, then asking participants to carry out a simulation of adjusting the appropriate contract for each type of business product in their respective BUMDes. The final stage is that the service team and participants jointly evaluate the results of the simulation whether they are in accordance with the principles of sharia financial contracts or whether they still need to be improved. The results of the service can be seen that, first: the business sectors carried out are savings and loans using a conventional financial system, rental of rice production facilities (saprodi), waserda, mini markets, electronic and motorbike credit, and gas stations. secondly, the level of understanding of BUMdes managers regarding sharia financial contracts has increased but further assistance is still needed over a longer period of time and the majority of participants strongly agree and support the implementation of sharia financial contracts in the BUMDes they manage. Third: the ability of BUMDes managers to apply sharia financial contracts to the products in their respective BUMDes is good but further guidance is still needed. Abstract

This research examines the role and challenges faced by sharia arbitration institutions in completing sharia business settlements. As an alternative to out-of-court settlement, sharia arbitration offers a solution that complies with sharia principles and Islamic law. This research uses qualitative methods with a literature study approach and in-depth interviews with practitioners in the field of sharia arbitration. The research results show that sharia arbitration institutions play an important role in providing legal certainty and justice for disputing parties, especially in the context of sharia business. However, there are a number of challenges that hamper the effectiveness of this institution, including a lack of public understanding and trust in sharia arbitration, limited competent human resources, and regulatory constraints that do not fully support the development of this institution. Therefore, further efforts are needed to increase socialization, training and regulatory adjustments to strengthen the role of sharia arbitration institutions in completing the recovery of sharia business in Indonesia. The research results show that the Sharia Arbitration Institution plays an important role in providing dispute resolution mechanisms that are in accordance with sharia principles, maintaining the trust of sharia business actors, and reducing the burden on district courts. However, the challenges faced include a lack of public understanding and awareness about sharia arbitration, limited competent human resources, and a lack of harmonization of regulations that support the operationalization of these institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates the governance transformation underpinning the conversion of Bank Riau Kepri (BRK) into Bank Riau Kepri Syariah (BRK Syariah), focusing on the interplay between regulatory pressure, institutional dynamics, and strategic intent. Using a qualitative case study design, the analysis reveals that the conversion was driven by a combination of internal aspirations for regional economic leadership and external pressures, including regulatory encouragement and alignment with national Islamic finance roadmaps. While institutional support and political endorsement facilitated the conversion, challenges remain in harmonizing Sharia principles with operational realities, including staff capacity, legacy systems, and market adaptation. The study contributes to the growing discourse on conventional-to-Islamic bank conversion by highlighting how regulatory ecosystems, institutional inertia, and governance reform intersect in shaping the trajectory of Islamic banking transformation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the compliance of contracts and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of financing at Baitul Maal wat Tamwil Islam Abdurrab (BMTIA) Pekanbaru with sharia principles. As a sharia-based microfinance institution, BMTIA plays an important role in providing financing that aligns with Islamic values, such as the prohibition of riba (usury), gharar (uncertainty), maysir (gambling), and the application of justice principles. This research employs a qualitative approach through the analysis of SOP documents. The results show that most of the financing procedures implemented by BMTIA are in accordance with sharia principles, particularly in terms of contract selection, financing mechanisms, and supervisory systems. However, there are several aspects that still need improvement, such as transparency of information to customers and monitoring of financing implementation. Therefore, this study recommends refining the SOP to ensure better alignment with sharia principles and to enhance public trust. These findings are expected to contribute to the development and supervision of Islamic microfinance institutions in IndonesiaKeywords: SOP, Financing, Sharia Principles, BMT, Usury, Sharia MicrofinanceArticle history:
