Abstract

Enhancing Positive Character of Children Aged 5-6 Years Through Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) Activities at BKB PAUD Pelangi, East Jakarta (2025). Undergraduate Thesis. Jakarta: Universitas Panca Sakti Bekasi. 2025. This study aims to enhance the positive character of children aged 5-6 years through Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) activities at BKB PAUD Pelangi, East Jakarta. The development of positive character in early childhood serves as an essential foundation for personality growth that will influence their future life. PHBS activities were chosen as a learning medium because they integrate physical health aspects with character building through the habituation of positive daily behaviors. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (lCAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, carried out in two action cycles. Eachl cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that consistent and structured PHBS activities can foster the development of positive character traits in children, such as discipline, responsibility, independence, and environmental awareness. The habituation of PHBS not only improves children’s health but also stimulates the development of positive character from an early age. This research concludes that PHBS can serve as an effective strategy to improve positive character of young children in educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the expressive language skills of children aged 4–5 years through roleplaying activities at TKIT Insan Kamil. The research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using Kurt Lewin’s model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 20 children in group A. Based on the overall results, in the pre-cycle the children’s expressive language skills were at 33.00%, increasing to 43.00% in cycle I, and showing a significant improvement in cycle II, reaching 81.00%. Role-playing activities proved effective in encouraging children to expand their vocabulary, construct simple sentences, and build confidence in speaking. The improvement from the pre-cycle to cycle II indicates that the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method had a significant positive impact on the development of children’s expressive language skills. Thus, role- playing activities are proven to be effective in enhancing young children’s expressive language abilities by encouraging them to broaden their vocabulary, form simple sentences, and develop self-confidence in communication.

Abstract

The Use of Hearing Aids on the Communication Skills of Deaf Children at Sinar Indonesia Elementary School. Thesis. Bekasi: Universitas Panca Sakti Bekasi. 2025. This study aims to investigate the effect of using hearing aids on the communication skills of deaf children at Sinar Indonesia Elementary School. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research subjects included a deaf child with special needs who uses hearing aids, the classroom teacher, and the school environment as supporting factors. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that consistent use of hearing aids provides significant positive effects. First, the child showed increased awareness of sounds, such as responding to the teacher’s call or the school bell. Second, the ability to understand simple instructions and conversations improved, which enhanced participation in group activities. Third, there was a noticeable increase in self-confidence and social skills, as seen in the child’s courage to greet, answer questions, initiate short conversations, and engage in group play. Fourth, supporting factors contributing to this success include consistent use of hearing aids, family support in ensuring optimal function, an inclusive school environment, and flexible teaching approaches by the teacher. In conclusion, this study confirms that hearing aids play a major role in enhancing the communication abilities of deaf children. However, their effectiveness is strongly influenced by the support of families, teachers, and the school environment. Therefore, collaboration among all parties is essential to optimize the communication and social development of deaf children.
