Abstract

Plastic packaging manufacturing company, X Corporation uses assembly machines to produce spout. In 2023, the assembly machine experinced a high frequency of downtime, which is 106 times with a total 190.5 hours. This research aims to analyze the machine maintenance management with the RCM method. Determination of critical components by FMEA, with an RPN value at very high level (> 200), four critical components are obtained, namely line feeder, transmission, electrical sensor, pneumatic. Calculation of reliability values using Weibull distribution. Then obtained the reliability value of line feeder component 0.5 when (t) 128 hours, transmission 0.5 when (t) 96 hours, electrical sensor 0.5 when (t) 184 hours, and pneumatic 0.5 when (t) 627 hours. Based on the reliability value, the line feeder maintenance schedule is determined every 5 days (max. inspection), 2 weeks (repair), 1 month (replace); transmission every 4 days (max. inspection), 4 weeks (repair), 2 months (replace); electrical sensor every 8 days (max. inspection), 5 months (repair), 10 months (replace); pneumatic every 28 days (max. inspection), 3 months (repair), 6 months (replace); overhaul at least once a year. The preventive maintenance cost in one year is Rp45,107,309.

Abstract

PT. X is a plastic packaging manufacturing company, based on machine comparison in 2023, the spout assembly machine is the most critical machine because of the high frequency of downtime, which is 106 times. With the RCM method and RAM determination of critical components determined by FMEA, the RPN value at the very high-risk level (> 200) is; line feeder (681), gear (608), electric sensor (440) and pneumatic (224). Reliability value electrical sensor component 0.5 at (t) = 96 operating hours, transmission (t) = 108 operating hours, line feeder (t) = 120 operating hours, and pneumatic (t) = 729 operating hours. Maintainability of line feeder components maximally maintained for 3 hours = 81.1%, transmission 5.5 hours = 82%, electrical sensor 1.5 hours = 84.6%, pneumatic 2.5 hours = 83%. The results of maintainability value have been included in the IVARA standard (80%). Inherent Availability (AI) and Operational Availability (AO). AI of line feeder = 98%, transmission = 98%, electric sensor = 99%, and pneumatic = 99%. While the AO value of the line feeder component = 94%, transmission = 92%, electric sensor = 94%, and pneumatic = 85%. AI percentage reached IVARA level, but AO percentage did not reach IVARA level (95%). Maintenance schedule planning is: line feeder repair = 15 days, replacement = 8 weeks, gear; repair = 8 days, replacement = 9 weeks, electric sensor; repair = 178 days, replacement = 50 weeks, pneumatic; repair = 118 days, replacement = 33 weeks. Through the predetermined maintenance cost savings for the company with the comparison results, the estimated savings is Rp83,881,208 or 51.9%

Abstract

The problem in Nongkosongo hamlet is residents' lack of awareness and knowledge about utilizing inorganic waste, as evidenced by the number of residents who register with the waste bank, only four from 3 RW. The methods used are coordinating with the village head, preparing tools and materials, providing training, holding competitions, and giving rewards. This activity aims to provide training in using inorganic waste to become added-value products in the form of tables and chairs from used plastic bottles. The second can make products with a teamwork system that is contested, and there is a reward system. The results obtained are training in making tables and chairs from used plastic bottles has been carried out. Second, making tables and chairs in teams with product results has been done, and rewards have been given. The products have been handed over and used in the waste bank as seats for guests.

Abstract

Composite materials are produced by combining two or more different materials, to achieve mechanical properties superior to those of the individual components. One example of a natural fiber-based composite is the composite made from the skin fiber of the lantung wood (Artocarpus elasticus). This study aims to analyze the effect of alkali immerse durations (60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes) and fiber weight fractions (5%, 10%, and 15%) on the impact strength of the composite, using lantung wood bark fibers as the control due to their inherent mechanical strength. The experiment was conducted by varying the independent variables, such as alkali immerse duration and fiber weight fraction, and dependent variables including fiber orientation and NaOH concentration (horizontal orientation, 10%). The research method used in this research is design of experimental (DOE) method. Impact testing was performed using a Charpy impact tester, and the resulting data were analyzed quantitatively to evaluate the relationships among the variables. Although the benefits of natural fibers are well-known, there is still a lack of empirical data regarding the effects of alkali immerse duration and fiber weight fraction on the impact strength of the composites. The study purpose is to fill this gap by systematically analyzing the effects of alkali immerse duration and fiber weight fraction on the mechanical performance of lantung wood bark fiber-based composites. The research result show that a 120-minute immerse duration yields an impact value of 0.029 J/mm², while a 10% fiber weight fraction results in an impact value of 0.033 J/mm². The research contributes to the optimization of fabrication parameters, particularly in the automotive sector, such as in the production of lightweight components like rear wheel mudguard for motorcycles.

Abstract

Sumberingin Bath is one of the natural tourist destinations located in Wringinsongo Village, Tumpang District, Malang Regency, East Java. This bathing site features a clear and refreshing spring, attracting many visitors from various regions. However, Sumberingin Bath has tourism potential that has not been fully optimized, particularly in the area of night tourism. The objective of this community service project is to develop a decorative lighting area powered by renewable energy at Sumberingin Bath. The methodology employed includes the development of decorative lighting infrastructure, providing training to the community on the management, maintenance, and installation of lights integrated with a solar power system, and creating a selfie tourism program that leverages the beauty of decorative lights to enhance the destination's appeal on social media. The results of this community service initiative offer solutions to the issue of limited lighting and the need to extend the operational hours of the tourist site, while also increasing knowledge and adding value to the location as a renewable energy-based night tourism destination. A total of more than 40 decorative lights were installed, with an average power consumption of 1,200 watts. The energy for these lights is derived from renewable energy stored in a powerwall system with a capacity of 14,400 watts
