Abstract

Cellulolytic bacteria in termites are adaptive symbionts in the digestive tract of termites. The purpose of making an e-flipbook is to make it easier for teachers to provide monera material with visualization media and to make it easier for students to understand the characteristics of cellulolytic bacteria. This research is a combination of qualitative and descriptive research. The results of cellulolytic bacteria research can be documented digitally in the form of an e-flipbook. E-flipbook is an alternative learning media that can help students to get a visualized picture of the material presented in a digital portable device. In the e-flipbook, it is outlined that cellulolytic bacteria have a significant physiological level. The test indicators use physiological tests, MR-VP tests and TSIA tests that produce the conclusion that cellulolytic bacteria in the termite GI tract are very suitable for the atmosphere of the GI tract. The feasibility test of the e-flipbook to be used as a learning resource has been validated by learning media experts and material experts. Validation results show an average of 91% resulting in valid criteria. The validation-based validator statement states e-flipbooks can be used as learning resources

Abstract

The ineffectiveness of word-of-mouth marketing techniques and the low ability of partners (Cita Mandiri Women Farmers Group) in utilising digital media have made nutmeg products not optimally marketed. The service activity aims to improve the ability of partners to create promotional content so that they can do marketing through social media. Service activities are carried out in three stages, namely 1) The preparation stage by conducting observations and identifying partner problems. 2) The implementation stage by conducting training and assistance in creating promotional content and online marketing techniques through social media. 3) Evaluation stage. Involving the Wanita Tani Cita Mandiri group in community service activities with structured training programmes, ongoing mentorship, and partnerships with online communities, this group can develop digital skills, create more creative promotional content, and expand their market reach. With the implementation of this solution, Wanita Tani Cita Mandiri can optimise the potential of social media as a marketing tool, increase their income, and overall make a positive contribution in the economic and social empowerment of the local community. In conclusion, through collaboration, training, and innovation, this group can make social media-based promotional activities a driving force to achieve economic independence and sustainability.

Abstract

Human activity such a deforestation, the extent of hunting and illegal trade of pets nowadays makes Crested Serpent-eagle’s population in its natural habitat is threatened. To overcome the problem, a rehabilitation is needed to keep its sustainability. Diurnal activity observastion is important in the rehabilitation process, because the result can be the standard for the eagle to completing a rehabilitation process and become a determining factor whether the eagle can move to the next rehabilitation stage and whether the animal can be released or not. Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa (PSSEJ) is one of rehabilitation centres specially established for mountain eagles which conduct eagles’ rehabilitation and release. This research aims at observing the diurnal activities of Crested Serpent-eagle which are in different rehabilitation stages. The observation was conducted during 10 days in September-October 2021 from 08.00 a.m until 04.0.00 p.m. The method used in this research was ad libitum sampling and focal animal sampling in PSSEJ quarantine and training cage. Based on the observation, it is concluded that there were three categories of Crested Serpent-eagles’ activity observed in quarantine cage and training cage. These activities include perching activities, moving activities and hunting activities. Each activity in each cage has a different percentage, but perching activity has the largest presentation in both cages, namely 92.11% in quarantine cages and 81.79% in training cages. This difference is caused by the rehabilitation stages which has been passed by the eagles, the size of the cage, and the environment condition Key words: Crested Serpent-eagle, Diurnal Activity, Rehabilitation

Abstract

This research examines the effect of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach on the critical thinking skills of Grade IV elementary students while they are studying fractions. The study aims to enhance students' critical thinking abilities by implementing TaRL. Employing a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design, the study involved 41 SDN Polisi 2 Bogor fourth-grade students. Two classes, IVA and IVB, were selected through saturation sampling. Data collection tools included a 10-item critical thinking test and an observation sheet to assess critical thinking skills. Results indicate a significant enhancement in students' critical thinking skills with the TaRL approach, supported by hypothesis testing that yields a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (H1). N-Gain test outcomes further illustrate the effectiveness of TaRL in improving critical thinking abilities, particularly in IVB class mathematics lessons on fractions, while fostering increased engagement and deeper conceptual understanding among students. These findings suggest that the TaRL approach can be incorporated into mathematics learning to enhance students’ critical thinking and conceptual grasp.

Abstract

Lichens are symbiotic organisms between fungi and algae. In Indonesia, lichen inventory research is very limited. Several Lichen families have entered critical levels such as Lobariaceae. The purpose of this study was to: record and collect the Lobariaceae family as a rare lichen, analyze population data of the Lobariaceae family, growth percentage and development of Lobariaceae family transplants. This research method used exploration with calculations based on the surface area of tree trunks, the number and coverage of thallus, and thallus coverage per square meter for each tree. The results of this study found 340 Pseudocyphellaria thallus consisting of Pseudocyphellaria sp. P. aurata, P. crocata and P. argyracea. During one year of Pseudocyphellaria transplantation, there was no growth in terms of increasing thallus cover. The development that occurred was that the transplant was able to attach well to the substrate. It is estimated that Pseudocyphellaria thallus takes longer to adapt well to the substrate to grow and develop. The conclusion of this study is that the transplanted lichen showed satisfactory growth, which indicates that this method can be used for the conservation of threatened lichen species.
