Abstract

Pregnant women are one of the vulnerable groups affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through limited access and reach to health services, resulting in the adaptation process during pregnancy and increased pregnancy stressors. Self-efficacy is one of the important factors in the ability of pregnant women to cope when experiencing stress and depression during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to examine the factors that influence the self-efficacy of pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design in the working area of the Panti Community Health Center, Jember Regency, from August to October 2021. The research sample was 170 randomly selected using cluster random sampling. The research instrument used the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) to measure self-efficacy and a structured questionnaire to measure the characteristics of the respondents. The results showed that the factors that influenced the self-efficacy of pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic were education (p-value = 0.007; OR = 3.852), income (p-value = 0.014; OR = 4.325), and occupation (p-value = 0.014; OR = 4.325), and occupation (p-value = 4.325). value = 0.006; OR = 5.464). And the most influential predictor of pregnant women's self-efficacy during the COVID-19 pandemic was occupation (p-value = 0.002; OR = 6.224). Working mothers tend to have higher adaptability through changing conditions at work as an effort to develop themselves, demands, initiatives, and targets at work to make the right decisions and other stressors at work, so they tend to have higher self-efficacy, be able to solve problems and solve problems challenges well, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Strengthening cooperation with stakeholders in the region to increase the capability and empowerment of mothers through training to develop the competence of mothers according to mothers’ education and local resources so that they can work in the formal and informal sectors so that mothers' self-efficacy increases.

Abstract

Stunting in Jember Regency is the eighth most common condition in East Java, affecting up to 30% of the 180,000 children under the age of five. The creation of meatballs made from tuna fortified anchovy, which are increasingly rich in nutrients like zinc, will help to overcome nutritional issues. The aim of this research was to look at zinc levels, elasticity, and organoleptic properties. The aim of this study was to look at the zinc levels, elasticity, and organoleptic consistency of tuna fish balls after fortification with anchovy flour and chewers, which could help stunted toddlers improve their nutritional status. This is a true experimental study with a pre and post control group configuration. The sample size was set at 27 (eight samples from the treatment group and one sample from the control group). Zinc levels, elasticity, and organoleptic consistency are all measured in the lab through observation. On zinc levels, ANOVA Two Way was used to analyze data presentation. Zinc levels of 0.001 mg/100 gr and elasticity of 707.38 4.13 gf were found in tuna fish balls until they were reinforced with anchovy flour and chewers. The interaction of zinc content, elasticity, and organoleptic quality of anchovy meal fortification (0, 18%, and 35%) and thickener (carrageenan and STTP) has a major effect on zinc content, elasticity, and organoleptic quality (physical and preferences include taste, aroma, color and texture). The best tuna meatballs in terms of general nutritional content and chewiness are tuna fish balls fortified by 35% anchovy and with carrageenan as thickener. His general favorite is tuna fish balls which are not fortified with anchovy flour and without chewing. Future research is expected to find alternatives to other highly nutritious fish with good acceptance

Abstract

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) due to delayed decision-making remain a major issue, primarily because women and their husbands often do not take an active role as decision-makers. This study aimed to examine the characteristics and influence of various factors including level of knowledge, choice of referral health facility, considerations in hospital selection, family influence, main factors in referral decisions, belief or trust factors, and husband's psychological factors on referral decisions for high-risk pregnancies in Lumajang Regency. The respondents were husbands of pregnant women with a high-risk pregnancy (KSPR ≥ 6) during the period January-June 2023. This quantitative research employed a case-control design using probability sampling.  Cluster sampling was conducted across 25 Community Health Canters, followed by proportionate stratified random sampling, yielding a total sample of 300 participants. The Chi-Square test showed a significant relationship (p<0.05) between psychological factors (p=0.035) and referral decisions for high-risk pregnancies. Meanwhile, other variables including level of knowledge (p=0.893), choice of hospital type (p=0.155), consideration in selecting referral health facilities (p=0.969), family influence (p=0.394), main consideration for referral approval (p=0.901), and belief or trust factors (p=0.702) did not show a significant relationship with husband's referral decision. Binary logistic regression analysis revealed that husband without psychological issues were 2.397 times more likely to agree to referral for high-risk pregnancies compared to those with psychological problems.   Keywords: Husband's decision, referral, delivery, high risk pregnancy
