Abstract

Desa Siaga was a village that has self-supporting skill to prevent and overcome health problems. This program has purpose to increase community knowledge and awareness about health, to increase community ability and desire in health self supporting. It was a descriptive research to describe the nutritional self -supporting, public health service and Protein Energy Malnutrition(PEM) Prevalence (using Weight for Age Index, WHO/NCHS standard) in some Desa Siaga in Probolinggo City. Sampling tehcnique was using Purposive Sampling. The result showed that community nutritional self-supporting was good. It was showed by good nutritional knowledge and practice, good emergency reaction on nutritional problem, and nutritional garden ownership by respondent. But, it was need an increasing of public health service in every community area and the using of the service also. Those potencial aspects can be a modal to decrease PEM prevalence and develop Desa Siaga Program. Keywords: Community Nutritional Self-Supporting, Public Health Service, Protein Energy Malnutrition

Abstract

Goitre still become one of especial health problem in Indonesia. Prevalency TGR (Total Goitre Rate) is true tend to downhill, however there is endemic area tendency extend to coastal area and lowland.This research target is know the relation of thiocyanat consumption on the thyroid occurence in area non-endemic (Countryside Wirolegi ) and endemic area (Countryside Kamal) in Regency Jember.This research was inclusive of analytic descriptive. This sample research was consisted of  30 school age children become 2 group, that was thyroid patient group and non thyroid patient group. Goitre identified by palpasi, hereinafter sampel taken  their urine to know the rate of urine iodine and thiocyanat. As supporter data also interviewed by questionnaire to measure food intake and food frequency. Data which have been gathered to be analysed by using Regresi Logistics to see the variable relation with the thyroid occurence.Result of statistical test show there is relation which significant  between rate of Thiocyanat Urine with the thyroid occurence. Thiocyanat has the character of goitrogen personating of competitor and blocking agent in course of thyroid hormone forming. Sufficiency of energy and fat needed in contributing protein function in thyroid hormone forming, insufficiency of protein will bother the thyroid hormone forming process.Concluded that thyroid occurence not because of iodine insufficiency but because height of rate of thiocyanat as well as lowering sufficiency  consume the protein. Hence suggestion which we give is furthermore research to know the source of high and thiocyanat, as well as furthermore research use the more complete indicator, perform the counselling about food processing to eliminating thiocyanat. Abstract

One of the main nutritional problems in Indonesia is Protein Energy Malnutrition (PEM). Fish as protein source can be an alternative solution for PEM. Abon made from meat or fish have a high price.In order to make affordable price to the public,it is combined with plant-based ingredients (also known as abon modification). Objective of this research is to gain more understanding the influence of the addition of keluwih (Artocarpus camasi) against physical quality, protein content, and water content of the abon lele dumbo (Clarias gariepinus). Research experiment by using a quasi experimental design, there are 4 levels of treatment: P0 (abon lele dumbo without additional keluwih as control group), P1 (abon lele dumbo with additional keluwih 20 %), P2 (abon lele dumbo with additional keluwih 40 %), P3 (abon lele dumbo with additional keluwih 60 %) and 12 units experiment. Analysis of the first modifications done abon test power received (Hedonic Scale Test). Chemical analysis of protein levels with Semi Micro Kjeldahl Test and water content by using the way of heating (cawan method). The results of the analysis using the test results are significant, when Friedman then proceeded to test the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for knowing the difference of 4 degrees of treatment. Keluwih can be used in the manufacture of mixtures of abon lele dumbo (abon modification). There is a trend of decrease in the levels of protein with the increasing proportion of keluwih is added to the abon (ranges from 18.1% to 36.2%). There is a tendency of an increase in water content with the increasing proportion of keluwih is added to the modifications ranged from tivoid languages (6.7% to 12.1%). The right proportion of the addition of keluwih in making abon modifications is P1 (abon lele dumbo with additional keluwih 20 %). Abstract

Smoking and drying are one of food processing and preservation with high temperature. The principle of smoke chanos-chanos preservation with drying method is to get hold of bacterial activity and storage time become more longer. Food processing with high temperature can influence storage time and organoleptic of food (smoke chanos-chanos). The purpose of this research was to know the influence of smoke chanos-chanos drying time to storage time and organoleptic. This research was a true experimental study with randomized complete block design. The sample was 25 smoke chanos-chanos that shared become 5 group, i.e: control group (P0), group with 8 hours drying (P1), group with 10 hours drying (P2), group with 12 hours drying (P3) and group with 14 hours drying (P4). Statistical analysis to know the influence of smoke chanos-chanos time drying to storage time was used One-way Manova test. And Kruskal-Wallis test was used to know the influence of smoke chanos-chanos time drying to organoleptic with α=0,05. Result of research showed that 14 hours drying (P4) could increase storage time of smoke chanos-chanos become 5-6 days. Manova test showed that drying time influenced storage time (p=0,000). And, Kruskal Wallis analysis showed the influenced of drying time to organoleptic score. Conclusion of research is smoke chanos-chanos drying time influenced storage time and organoleptic score. Therefore, it is suggested to give modification treatment by drying process to increase storage time and organoleptic score. Abstract

Recently, it has been taken over by formulated milk. It can be seen from the still low level ofcoverage of breastfeed exclusive in Arjasa which amounted to 27.95%. The intake offormulated milk may affect the infant’s nutritional status as well as its infection’s status. Infantfed formulated milk very range against a disease especially of infection diseases comparedwith baby breastfeed exclusive. Infection is one factor affecting nutrition status in infants.The most commonly known form of infection to infants with formulated milk is diarrhea. Theobjective of this research is finding out the variation on the nutrition and infection status ofthe infants with exclusive breastfeed compared to those with formulated milk intake. Thisresearch is an observational analytical descriptive one, with cross sectional design. Thisresearch involves 148 sample. Nutrition status of baby measured with the measurement ofthe weight and length body, then tested by using chi-square, after that asked gen. infection,then tested by using chi-square to know the difference. The result confirms the variation onnutrition status, as shown by the p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05).Status infection status of theinfant with exclusive breastfeed and those with formulated milk intake by p-value of 0.000(p,0.05).Conclusion this research that the difference nutrition status and status infectionbetween an infant breastfeed exclusive with formulated milk.Keywords: Nutritional status, Infection status, exclusive breastfeed and formulated milk.

Abstract

Stunting is linear growth disturbance caused by the nutrient intake of chronic malnutritionand chronic or recurrent infections showed with height z-score for age (H / A) <-2 SDbased on the standard WHO. Based on the results of Nutritional Status Monitoring inBima, the prevalence of stunting for each year has increased. The prevalence of stuntingin 2011 amounted to 23.61%, in 2012 amounted to 30.3%, and in 2013 amounted to53.2%. Soromandi district is one of the districts with the highest prevalence of stunting inBima. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of the incidence of stunting inchildren under five year in Puskesmas Soromandi Bima district of West Nusa Tenggara.This research is an observational analytic study with cross sectional approach. This studyshows that there was no significant relationship between food intake, genetic factors,status BBLR with the incidence of stunting and no significant correlation between geneticfactors with the incidence of stunting. Abstract

The growth development is two difference phenomenons, but it is related and difficult to separated, that is growth and development. Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB) Program is one of the Keluarga Berencana (KB) program which purpose is to increase the knowledge and skills of parents and other family members to build the growth development of toddler by their ages. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB) program to the growth development toddler 6-24 months in the working area of Sumbersari subdistrict of Jember. The research type was observational analytic with cohort approaches. The samples about 130 toddlers (65 toddlers who family is participate and not participate on BKB) taken by Proportional Random Sampling. Based on Chi-Square results of statistical tests, it’s known that the difference of parenting nutrition, love pattern, teach pattern, and growth development between toddler 6-24 months who family is participate and not participate on BKB with the Sig or p = 0.0001 (p<α).   Keywords: Bina Keluarga Balita Program, Growth Development Of Toddler, 6-24 Months

Abstract

Stunting was linear growth disorder caused by chronic malnutrition nutrient intake andchronic or recurrent infections indicated by the value of the z-score of height for age(TB/U) <-2 SD based on WHO standards. It was also a public health problem becauseassociated with increased risk of morbidity and mortality. Randuagung was the highestprevalent stunted that 34,63% form 25 community health center in Lumajang distric.Based on result of the first study done to 30 children ini community health center ofRanduagung, Lumajang distric, acquired amount of 11 children endured the stunted.This study aimed to analyzed the determinants of stunting among children aged 12-36months in Puskesmas Randuagung, Lumajang. This study was observational analyticwith cross sectional design. The sample size were 86 toddlers were taken by simplerandom sampling. Bivariate analyzed with chi square test and multivariate analyzedwith multiple logistic regression. The results show that 53.5% sample were stunted. Theanalysis show there were relationship between zinc consumption level, infectiousdiseases, and genetically with the incidence of stunting. The level of zinc consumptionand genetic were the risk factor of stunting among children age 12-36 month.Keywords: Stunting, children, risk factor
