Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum (K-13) and Merdeka Curriculum in the learning process, especially in terms of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects. The Merdeka Curriculum provides more space for students to explore independently, and conduct exploration activities through discussions and studying the problems they face, while K-13 tends to be more rigid with a focus on achieving a certain set of competencies. A qualitative research method with a case study design was used to explore teachers' experiences while implementing the two curricula. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with PAI teachers at SMK Karya Rini Yogyakarta, learning documents, and classroom observations of grades 10 and 11. The research findings show that Merdeka Curriculum offers more flexibility for educators in organizing teaching as it is designed to increase students' roles during learning. However, the main obstacles in implementing it are limited facilities, teacher readiness, and understanding among students and parents about this new learning paradigm. Alternatively, K-13 offers stricter guidelines but also stifles creativity from both sides. Curriculum transformation should be comprehensive in the form of training teachers, providing adequate facilities for schools and educating students and parents. The location can serve as a reference for constituents in planning more relevant policies and implementing more effective strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how social sciences can inform social policies that align with the principles of Islamic teachings, with a focus on Islamic studies. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method, this research examines various relevant literature on the integration of social sciences, such as sociology and anthropology, with Islamic values. The analysis focuses on social theories that can be adapted to the context of social policy in the Islamic world, as well as how Islamic principles, such as justice, equality, and the welfare of the ummah, can be applied to create more inclusive and sustainable policies. The results of the study indicate that social sciences offer a strong analytical framework for understanding social dynamics in Muslim societies, as well as providing practical insights for formulating policies that integrate Islamic values in addressing contemporary challenges. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for policymakers to design more adaptive social solutions that align with the principles of Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study proposes a conceptual model for integrating differentiated learning and interdisciplinary approaches in the Curriculum Development course within the Islamic Religious Education study program. The research methodology includes participatory observation, in-depth interviews with faculty and students, and document analysis. This qualitative study employs a case study design to examine the implementation of differentiated and interdisciplinary learning strategies in curriculum development courses at three State Islamic Universities: UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, and UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. These institutions were purposefully selected due to their active involvement in the National Association of Islamic Religious Education scholars and their demonstrated commitment to curriculum innovation. Findings indicate that differentiated learning enhances student engagement, motivation, and comprehension by tailoring materials and assignments to individual abilities and interests. However, several challenges were identified, including time constraints, insufficient technology resources, and the need for faculty development to apply these approaches effectively. The study highlights the importance of institutional support, including ongoing faculty training, improved facilities, and adaptable evaluation mechanisms, in optimizing the implementation of differentiated and interdisciplinary learning. In conclusion, this conceptual approach holds significant potential to enhance educational quality, provided it is backed by the appropriate infrastructure and strategies to meet the varied learning needs of students.

Abstract

The low level of Higher Order Thinking Skills and the conventional learning model applied in various schools is ineffective in improving students' HOTS, especially in Fiqh learning. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Quantum Teaching learning model in enhancing the HOTS skills of tenth-grade students at MAN 4 Bantul. The study employs a quantitative and quasi-experimental design involving experimental and control classes. Cluster random sampling was used for sample selection. The research instruments consist of pretest and posttest questions that have been validated. Data analysis includes normality tests, homogeneity tests, t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class, with an average N-Gain of 68.49%, which is considered fairly effective, compared to the control class with an average N-Gain of 28.43%, which is regarded as less effective. Thus, the Quantum Teaching model has proven effective in enhancing students' HOTS skills in the Fiqh subject. This research improves HOTS of Fiqh learning students based on quantum teaching models and becomes a reference for teachers in designing learning strategies oriented towards HOTS.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of self-regulation and adversity quotient on resilience and examines their implications for the psychological well-being of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers. A quantitative, predictive correlational design was employed. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that incorporated validated scales measuring self-regulation, resilience, and psychological well-being. Path analysis was conducted using JAMOVI software with a robust model. The results indicate that self-regulation positively and significantly affects resilience, while resilience, in turn, positively influences psychological well-being. Moreover, both self-regulation and adversity quotient were found to have direct positive effects on psychological well-being. The analysis further revealed indirect effects of self-regulation on psychological well-being mediated by resilience. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening self-regulation and resilience among IRE teachers to enhance their overall psychological well-being.
