Abstract

The objectives of this study are 1) to determine the beginning of entry of rubber plantations in Lampung, 2) to determine the condition of rubber plantations in Lampung after the New Order, 3) the determine the sosio-economic conditions of rubber farmers in Lampung after the New Order. The method used in this research is the historical method which includesh heuristics,ccriticism/ verification,i interpretation, and historiography. The resultssand this study state that at the beginning of the 20th century rubber began to be developed in Lampung Initially rubber was planted in the Bogor BotanicallGardens as a collection which was then introduced in 1864 in Indonesia Lampung is one of the largest rubber-producing areas in Indonesia considering that the area has climate, soil type and land area suitable for rubber plantations. This sector is expected to become a driving force for the municipal economy and the main sourceeof income for the people of Lampung Province.

Abstract

The Iqra Aksara Community Reading Garden Program as a medium in the teaching and learning process that is applicative is expected to foster student interest and motivation in learning the Lampung language. One of the factors that affect the quality of education is the presentation of creative and innovative learning materials. Related to this, it is necessary to have learning media that can attract students' interest in learning. Besides the media, creative teachers are also needed who have expertise in the field of information technology and computers, so it is important to carry out socialization that contains education and inculcation of community-based cultural values. This activity is carried out with the hope that students can make the best use of it, as well as the hope that in the future it will bring up local communities who are more loyal to contribute to continue to spread the teaching of the Lampung language among the younger generation. Based on the existing problems related to the urgency of the Lampung language in this increasingly unstoppable era of globalization, it is necessary to make a new breakthrough in the field of social services intended for students in learning the Lampung language.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melestarikan budaya lokal melalui pengenalan dan pembelajaran Aksara Simalungun kepada peserta didik di SMA Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah kekhawatiran terhadap semakin punahnya aksara daerah akibat dominasi aksara Latin dan kurangnya minat generasi muda. Kegiatan dilakukan secara bertahap dengan pendekatan literasi budaya, yang mencakup pengenalan huruf (induk dan anak surat), pelatihan menulis aksara Simalungun, serta gelar karya berbasis aksara oleh peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, observasi, penyusunan media ajar, dan pelaksanaan kegiatan secara interaktif selama tiga pertemuan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan minat peserta didik terhadap Aksara Simalungun, yang ditunjukkan melalui partisipasi aktif dalam setiap sesi dan antusiasme dalam menampilkan karya aksara mereka. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya memperkuat identitas budaya lokal peserta didik, tetapi juga berkontribusi dalam memperkaya ilmu pendidikan melalui integrasi literasi budaya di lingkungan sekolah. Dengan pendekatan yang menyenangkan dan kontekstual, kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pembelajaran budaya lokal yang aplikatif dan berkelanjutan.
