Abstract

This Community Service activity program (PkM) aims to empower the community in processing sago starch into sago flour. In this activity, the community was provided with information about processing sago starch into sago flour to increase the economic value of sago. This activity was carried out together with the Wendy Forest Farmers Group (KTH), South Sorong KPHP Unit V, UM Sorong Field Work Practice (PKL) students, where KTH was guided from selecting raw materials, processing raw materials to processing and product packaging processes. The methods used in this service activity are lectures and demonstrations with the aim of creating the community's ability to produce sago flour. The results of this activity went well with the results showing that there had been an increase in KTH's understanding and skills in carrying out the sago starch processing process, as well as community adaptation to the equipment used to support the sago starch production and processing process starting from raw material preparation, processing to packaging

Abstract

The aim of this service is to stimulate Power in Community to strengthen the Aren product business in the local community in Syunai Village, Bikar District, Tambrauw Regency. Actions carried out to awaken the mindset, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of local communities through actions to strengthen the Aren product business so that it has economic value for local households. This activity was carried out collaboratively and synergistically between the local community and UM Sorong lecturers. The method used in Power in Community: Strengthening the Palm Sugar Product Business in the Local Community in Syunai Village through stimulation of strengthening the product business carried out in the form of Collaborative Action activities with a persuasive and andragogical approach model. The results of this community service activity have identified how to build understanding (mindset) and creative power of local communities in increasing the diversification of palm derivative products and opening up market information. This empowerment also becomes the main foundation for strengthening and developing the sugar palm product business as a superior regional commodity

Abstract

The aim of this service is to empower the community in processing red fruit oil in the local community in Segior Village, Ayamaru Jaya District, Maybrat Regency. Actions carried out to awaken the mindset, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of local communities through empowerment actions in processing red fruit oil so that it has economic value for local households. This activity was carried out collaboratively and synergistically between the local community and UM Sorong lecturers. The method used in Empowering Local Communities in Processing Red Fruit Oil through community empowerment carried out in the form of Collaborative Action activities with a persuasive and andragogical approach model. Abstract

This research was carried out in the Sorong Nature Tourism Park (TWA) Forest area from August 2023. This research aims to determine potential, biomass per diameter, biomass per unit area; and the amount of carbon stored in stands of Dipterocarpaceae species in the Sorong TWA forest. The potential stands of dipterocarpaceae species found in the Sorong TWA forest are 398 trees or an average of 39.8 trees/ha. The types of dipterocarpaceae stands found were Resak (Vatica papuana), Mersawa (Anisoptera spp.), and Merawan (Hopea sangol). The distribution of dipterocarpaceae stands is quite even, with the Vatica species being very dominant, namely 156 trees or 15.6 trees/ha, Mersawa with 132 trees or 13.2 trees/ha, and Hopea with 110 trees or 11.0 trees/ha. The total standing biomass of dipterocarpaceae species was 38.82 tonnes/ha, with details for the Vatica species contributing the most biomass, namely 16.58 tonnes/ha, Mersawa 12.49 tonnes/ha and Hopea 9.75 tonnes/ha. Meanwhile, the total biomass per area is 3.88 tons per hectare. The greatest amount of biomass is stored in stands of trees with a diameter > 30 cm compared to those with a diameter < 30 cm. The stored carbon reserve content of dipterocarpaceae stands is 1.78 tonnes/ha, so assuming the Sorong TWA forest has an area of ​​945.90 ha, it is estimated that the amount of carbon stored in dipterocarpaceae stands is 1683.70 tonnes.

Abstract

Hutan mengrove memiliki fungsi jasa lingkungan sebagai salah satunya senbagai objek wisata, dimana nilai wisatanya tergantung dari persepsi pengunjunga. Indeks persepsi pengunjung adalah cara dalam mengetahui kepuasan pengunjung guna mengembangkan objek wisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan persepsi pengunjung terhadap objek Taman Wisata Mangrove Klamono (TWMK) Kota Sorong. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap pengunjung pada kawasan Taman Wisata Mangrove Klawalu Kota Sorong. Pelaksanaan kegiatan penelitian selama 1 bulan yakni selama Agustus 2020. Metode yang dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara terhadap pengunjung. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan accidental sampling, yaitu pengunjung yang secara kebetulan bertemu dengan peneliti akan dijadikan sebagai sampel. Metode analisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan pendekatan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa indeks persepsi pengunjung terhadap TWMK sebagai wahana dalam konservasi kawasan pesisir memiliki persepsi masih baik sampai sangat baik dengan nilai indeks persepsi Likert 4,11. Indeks persepsi pengunjung terhadap aspek estetika kawasan, menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata para pengunjung memiliki persepsi bahwa aspek estetika kawasan TWMK masih baik dengan nilai indeks persepsi Likert 3,89. Indeks persepsi pengunjung terhadap aspek kenyamanan kawasan TWMK, menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pengunjung memiliki persepsi bahwa TWMK masih kategori “baik sampai sangat baik“ dengan nilai indeks persepsi Likert 4,08. Dan Indeks persepsi pengunjung terhadap aspek sarana prasarana kawasan TWMK, menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pengunjung memiliki persepsi bahwa aspek sarana prasarana kawasan TWMK  adalah baik dengan nilai indeks persepsi Likert 3,92. Jadi indeks persepsi pengunjung terhadap TWMK masuk dalam kategori baik sampai sangat baik.

Abstract

Perburuan tradisional dengan jerat adalah berburu dengan menggunakan teknik dan alat tradisional. Peralatan berburu yang digunakan sederhana, bahannya mudah diperoleh di hutan dapat dirakit dan dibuat sendiri. Kampung Yaksoro merupakan sebuah kampung di Distrik Aitinyo tengah Kabupaten Maybrat yang masyarakatnya masih melakukan kegiatan berburu dengan menggunakan jerat. Metode penelitian yakni metode deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara terhadap masyarakat dengan tujuan mengungkap tradisionalisme masyarakat Kampung Yaksoro dalam aktivitas perburuan satwa dengan model teknik jerat (perangkap) melalui teknik pengamatan langsung proses persiapan pembuatan model jerat maupun pemasangan alat jerat di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model jerat dan bahan dasar yang dipergunkan dalam perburuan satwa liar oleh  masyarakat antara lain jerat lontar, jerat kaki, jerat lubang dan jerat jaring. Bahan yang dipergunakan dalam pebuatan jerat adalah dahan kayu dari jenis kayu kuat dan tali dari jenis liana atau kulit kayu yang kuat. Frekuensi jerat 1-2 minggu, jumlah jeratan 1-4 buah, pemasangan sepanjang musim, lokasi pemasangan jerat kebun dan hutan, satwa tertangkap adalah 1-3 ekor.

Abstract

Penilaian ekonomi objek wisata Bukit Cinta berdasarkan metode biaya perjalanan penting dilakukan dalam rangka menentukan karakteristik pengunjung dan memperoleh data nilai ekonomi yang dapat dijadikan dasar bagi pengelolaan objek wisata tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data terhadap pengunjung yang merupakan pengunjung dan observasi secara langsung di lapangan, disertai wawancara kepada pengunjung dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan data secara detail. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik pengunjung yang melakukan kunjungan ke obyek wisata Bukit Cinta sangat beragam. Berdasarkan jenis kelamin laki-laki 26,67% dan perempuan 73,33%, umur kelompok yaitu 16-25 tahun sebesar 60,00%, tingkat pendidikan terkhusus SMA dan sederajat sebesar 93,33%, serta  pendapatan tertinggi adalah >Rp. 1.000.000-Rp.2.500.000 sebesar 46,67%. Selanjutnya untuk daerah asal didominasi oleh pengunjung lokal. Biaya perjalanan terbesar terdapat pada biaya konsumsi 52,97% dari total biaya perjalanan, sedangkan alokasi biaya terendah terdapat pada biaya tiket yaitu (21,29%). Biaya perjalanan setiap orang berbeda-beda, sehingga diperoleh rata-rata jumlah biaya perjalanan total (BPT) sebesar Rp. 2.020.000.

Abstract

The program to enrich the community's knowledge about local food is an effort to increase families' knowledge and awareness of nutritional needs, as this program provides education that focuses on the importance of consuming a variety of nutritious, balanced foods, utilizing the potential of local food to support family resilience and nutrition. The objective of this activity is to enrich the knowledge of communities living around forests about the revitalization of local foods in supporting food security for communities in Arus Village, Maybrat Regency. This community service approach uses a participatory approach in the form of socialization and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The community is now more open to utilizing local food in their daily diet, which contributes to their health and well-being. However, challenges in the accessibility of local food ingredients still need to be addressed to ensure the sustainability of the Food Security program. Overall, this Knowledge Enrichment program not only provides knowledge but also empowers the community to implement better nutritional practices, which in turn can improve their quality of life.
