Abstract

Safety and comfort are two important aspects which must be achieved at the time of driving.The level of safety in driving can be improved by reducing driver (human) error. An auxiliary device is required by the driver to avoid an accident. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADASs) are systems to help the driver in the driving process. Overtaking Assistance System (OAS) is the subsystem of ADAS that functions to assist the driver in overtaking process. This paper presents decision-making system based on fuzzy logic for OAS. Inputs of decision-making system are the distance of ego vehicle and a vehicle that will be overtake as well as the distance ego vehicle and the vehicle on the other lane. Decisions of a decision-making system are vehicle doing approaching, tailgating, and overtaking. The result from hardware simulation that using remote control car shows that the decision-making system algorithm can work according to the design.

Abstract

Detection of air bubbles in the blood is important for various medical treatments that use Extracorporeal Blood Circuits (ECBC), such as hemodialysis, hemofiltration and cardio-pulmonary bypass. Therefore a reliable air bubble detector is needed. This study presents the design of a new fault tolerant air bubble detector. Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) method is used on the sensor section. A voter circuit of the Triple Modular Redundancy will choose one of three sensor outputs to be processed further. Application of Triple Modular Redundancy will prevent errors in the detection of air bubbles, especially if the sensor fails to work.

Abstract

 In today’s world, people depend more on the WWW information, including professionals who have to analyze the data according their domain to maintain and improve their business. A data analysis would require information that is comprehensive and relevant to their domain. Focused crawler as a topical based Web indexer agent is used to meet this application’s information need. In order to increase the precision, focused crawler face the problem of low recall. The study on WWW hyperlink structure characteristics indicates that many Web documents are not strong connected but through co-citation & co-reference. Conventional focused crawler that uses forward crawling strategy could not visit the documents in these characteristics. This study proposes a more comprehensive traversal framework. As a proof, CT-FC (a focused crawler with the new traversal framework) ran on DMOZ data that is representative to WWW characteristics. The results show that this strategy can increase the recall significantly.

Abstract

Part of speech (PoS) is one of the features that can be used to improve the quality of statistical-based machine translation. Typically, the language PoS determined based grammar of the language or adopt from other languages PoS. This work aims to formulate a model to developing PoS as linguistic factors to improve the quality of machine translation automatically. The research method using word similarity approach, where we perform clustering of the words contained in a corpus. Further classes will be defined as PoS set obtained for a given language.We evaluated the results of the PoS that defined computational results using machine translation system MOSES as the system by comparing the results of the SMT are using PoS sets generated manually, while the assessment of the system using BLEU method. Language that will be used for evaluation is English as the source language and Indonesian as the target language.

Abstract

This paper proposes two strategies for handling conflict schedule of two meetings which invite the same member of personnel at the same time through host-to-host negotiation scheme. The strategy is to let the member attend the other meeting under the condition that the group decision regarding the schedule is not changed and meeting quorum is fulfilled, namely release strategy. Other strategy is to substitute the absent personnel in order to keep the number of attendees above the quorum, namely substitute strategy. This paper adapts a mechanism design approach, namely Clarke Tax Mechanism, to satisfy incentive compatibility and individual rationality principal in meeting scheduling. By using a release strategy and substitute strategy, colliding meetings can still be held according to the schedule without the need for rescheduling. This paper shows the simulation result of using the strategies within some scenarios. It demonstrates that the number of meeting failures can be reduced with negotiation.

Abstract

Saat ini para ilmuwan melakukan banyak penelitian dalam rangka meningkatkan performa komputer.  Beberapa diantaranya mengkhususkan diri dalam mengembangkan parallelism baik pada Bit-Level Parallelism, Instruction-Level Parallelism maupun dengan konsep baru yang disebut Thread-Level Parallelism. Dengan dua sudut pandang yang berbeda, Instruction-Level Parallelism menghadapi kendala yang dalam eksploitasinya.  Ketika “perseteruan” antara arsitektur dengan multiprocessor dengan perancangan uniprocessor yang sangat cepat masih ada, Instruction-Level Parallelism dapat mengambil peran penting untuk mengoptimisasi keduanya.
