Abstract

Handling Children with Special Needs (CSN) requires special knowledge and expertise, so parents and schools with children/students with special needs sometimes experience difficulties in nurturing and implementing inclusive education. The Community Service Team from Universitas Sebelas Maret and the Yayasan Lembaga Pendidikan Al Firdaus developed the Rumah Inklusi and ARCHANA to provide CSNs and their families. This study examines the development of support groups for inclusive homes and the implementation of assisting parents with special needs through support groups. The approach used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which assists parents with special needs at the Al Firdaus Inclusion School with psychologists, pedagogues, and sociologists. Data collection techniques were done through literature studies, Focus Group Discussions, observations, and documentation. The results of the research show that the PAR approach in this service is carried out in four stages: (1) Reflection to determine the problem; (2) Problem-solving design by designing activities for forming support groups and assisting parents with CSN; (3) Implementation through Focus Group Discussion presenting parents and experts in the field of inclusive education; and (4) Evaluation of the implementation of community service activities. Developing inclusion houses is still needed to reach families with special needs, and the benefits can be felt more broadly. This community service activity found the construction gap for children with special needs between schools and families with special needs, which impacts self-acceptance of children's conditions.

Abstract

Limited access to clean water in rural Indonesia not only affects public health and well-being but also reflects structural challenges in water governance, particularly regarding the quality of community participation. This article examines the dynamics of community participation in water governance and its implications for equitable water access through a comparative study of rural areas in eastern and central Indonesia. The research was conducted in Cunca Lolos and Cunca Wulang villages (East Nusa Tenggara) and Banyuurip Village (Central Java) using a qualitative comparative case study design. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis, and were thematically analyzed by conceptualizing participation as a socially embedded process shaped by power relations and local institutions. The findings reveal that community participation largely remains functional, limited to technical and operational involvement without equal influence in planning and decision-making processes. This pattern occurs across differing ecological contexts, indicating that water inequality is driven less by natural scarcity than by institutional and social structures. Limited participation contributes to unequal water distribution, weak transparency, low collective ownership, and fragile management sustainability, positioning water governance as an arena for reproducing local power relations. The study reframes participation as a layered social practice rather than a normative program indicator, emphasizing that participation quality is central to achieving water justice in rural governance.

Abstract

Jumlah anak yang berkonflik dengan hukum terus meningkat, dengan 1.639 anak menjadi tahanan pada tahun 2024 dan 140 anak menjalani pembinaan di LPKA Kelas I Kutoarjo pada Januari 2025. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pembinaan yang membangun resiliensi anak berkonflik dengan hukum (ABH), mengidentifikasi kendala, serta memahami proses adaptasi selama pembinaan. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus dan teori praktik sosial Pierre Bourdieu (habitus, modal, dan ranah), penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pembinaan di LPKA Kutoarjo dilakukan melalui tahapan maximum, medium, dan minimum security. Strategi pembinaan ini menjadi praktik sosial yang memperkuat ketahanan ABH melalui akses pada modal sosial, ekonomi, dan budaya. Pembinaan ini tidak hanya membentuk habitus baru yang sesuai norma, tetapi juga mendukung kesiapan ABH untuk reintegrasi ke masyarakat. Strategi ini berperan penting dalam membangun resiliensi yang berkelanjutan bagi ABH.

Abstract

Budaya minum kopi dan merokok di coffee shop telah menjadi bagian dari gaya hidup masyarakat urban dan membentuk praktik budaya candu yang mengalami dinamika baru melalui penerimaan perempuan perokok di Coffee Shop Anak Panah Surakarta, meskipun masih dilekatkan pada stigma negatif dalam konteks sosial yang lebih luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk praktik budaya candu di Coffee Shop Anak Panah Surakarta serta memahami bagaimana praktik tersebut dimaknai oleh perempuan yang merokok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi dan berlandaskan teori konstruksi sosial Peter L. Berger. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Informan dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sedangkan validitas data dijaga melalui triangulasi sumber. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik budaya candu terwujud dalam kebiasaan mengonsumsi kopi dan rokok secara berulang dalam aktivitas nongkrong, bekerja, dan bersosialisasi. Bagi perempuan perokok, praktik tersebut dimaknai sebagai bentuk kenyamanan, kebebasan berekspresi, sarana membangun relasi sosial, serta simbol gaya hidup modern. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui proses eksternalisasi, objektifikasi, dan internalisasi, praktik perempuan yang merokok dikonstruksi sebagai realitas sosial yang dinormalisasi di lingkungan Coffee Shop Anak Panah Surakarta dan mencerminkan perubahan relasi gender di ruang public
