Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai keterampilan pengambilan keputusan pada remaja dan faktor-faktor yang berperan dalam penguasaan keterampilan tersebut. Penelitian diikuti oleh 307 partisipan yang terdiri dari 45 siswa perempuan dan 262 siswa laki-laki dari kelas 1, 2 dan 3 SMA Negeri 24 Bandung dengan rentang usia 15 – 19 tahun. Mengunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dan alat ukur keterampilan pengambilan keputusan yang diadaptasi dari alat ukur yang dibuat oleh Mincemoyer dan Perkins (2003), penelitian ini menemukan bahwa keterampilan pengambilan keputusan partisipan penelitian tergolong cukup (median = 84,00). Di antara kelima aspek keterampilan pengambilan keputusan, aspek menguji resiko dan konsekuensi dari pilihan merupakan aspek yang lebih dikuasai oleh partisipan. Penelitian ini juga menggali permasalahan yang sering dihadapi remaja. Ditemukan bahwa masalah relasi dengan teman, masalah emosi yang sensitive, motivasi dan konsentrasi belajar serta pemilihan jurusan seringkali dihadapi oleh remaja. Pengujian terhadap perbedaan keterampilan keputusan di antara perempuan dan laki-laki serta di antara usia yang berbeda menunjukkan bahwa jenis kelamin dan usia memiliki peran yang signifikan terhadap penguasaan keterampilan pengambilan keputusan pada remaja.

Abstract

Quality of life (QoL) has become one of important outcome measures of renal replacement therapy, including haemodialysis. However, the assessment of QoL is not comprehensively measured and most research about it use quantitative approach. Since QoL is subjective, assessing and understanding the qualitative evidence are very important. This study aimed to explore QoL in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) undergoing haemodialysis. This research is a cross-sectional study used a mixed method approach. Patients undergoing dialysis were recruited from the dialysis unit in one private hospital in Bandung. They completed the Kidney Disease and Quality of Life (KDQOL-36™) questionnaire and then went on face to face interview. Quantitative data were analysed descriptively and qualitative data were analysed using thematic analysis with qualitative data analysis software. A total of 87 patients completed the questionnaires and 34 of them participated in 20-60 minutes interview. The symptom and problem list had the highest mean score (M= M=63.60), indicated that patients experienced lack of energy, mobility and physical appearance that further produced difficulties in their daily activities. Additionally, mental component summary showed a higher mean score (M=49.23) than the physical component (M=36.22) indicated that patients most likely had worse mental health condition than their general physical health. Worse mental health condition induced with negative feeling among patients. Patient’s inability to do daily activity and change in physical appearance had impact on their confidence for social relationship. Conclusion: ESRD patients undergoing haemodialysis were bothered by the symptom of illness and worsen by the negative feelings.

Abstract

Mahasiswa program studi Profesi Dokter Universitas Padjadjaran mempunyai tuntutan akademik yang tinggi seperti jadwal yang padat, ekspektasi lingkungan sekitar, materi ajar yang banyak, pemberlakuan SOP, kerja tim, perbedaan karakteristik dokter supervisor, hingga lingkungan pertemanan yang dinamis. Hal-hal tersebut perlu dikelola agar mahasiswa dapat memberikan performa yang optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran academic hardiness pada mahasiswa program studi Profesi Dokter Universitas Padjadjaran menggunakan Revised Academic Hardiness Scale (RAHS). Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif dengan populasi penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa program studi Profesi Dokter Universitas Padjadjaran. Teknik random sampling digunakan untuk memilih partisipan yang sesuai dengan kriteria, dan didapatkan 86 mahasiswa program studi Profesi Dokter yang menjalani masa klinik di rumah sakit. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara daring menggunakan platform kuesioner daring pada bulan November–Desember 2021. Berdasarkan uji statistik deskriptif, 74.4% mahasiswa memiliki tingkat academic hardiness yang tinggi (M = 78.98, SD = 8.767) dengan skor rerata commitment, challenge, dan control yang tinggi pula. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa program studi Profesi Dokter mempersepsikan tuntutan akademik sebagai suatu tantangan yang dapat dijadikan pengembangan diri melalui upaya pengelolaan perilaku selama masa klinik, regulasi emosi, dan keterlibatan personal dengan tugas akademik yang dimilikinya. Dari ketiga dimensi, aspek control memiliki skor rerata tertinggi. Artinya, mahasiswa program studi Profesi Dokter memiliki karakteristik bersedia dan meyakini bahwa dirinya mampu menghadapi tuntutan akademik selama masa klinik dengan usaha mengelola perilaku dan regulasi emosi sebagai proses pembelajaran, sesulit apapun itu.

Abstract

Adolescents experience abrupt physical and psychological changes. These changes impacted adolescent behavior and the way adolescents respond to their environment. If parents do not understand the changes that occur in their adolescents, parents can experience difficulties in applying their parenting and eventually will impact the quality of the parent-child relationship. Parents need to be educated to understand the characteristics of adolescent development. Therefore, an Online workshop that aims to provide an understanding of the characteristics of adolescent development was conducted. The participant of this online workshop are parents who have adolescents. They were 26 parents aged 35-44 years (average 40.13 years) which were dominated by mothers (92.31%). This three-hour program used the online-zoom platform. It consists of lectures, question and answers session, small group discussions, and making an action plan to be implemented in relation to their adolescents. The results of the reaction evaluation showed that the participants perceived the program as interesting, fun, and useful. The material presented is considered good and applicable in accordance with the conditions of youth and the environment.

Abstract

Ibu bekerja di Indonesia menjalankan peran ganda, di mana mereka dihadapkan pada tuntutan tanggung jawab domestik dan profesional. Psychological well-being dari ibu menjadi krusial dalam menjalankan kedua peran tersebut. Meskipun dukungan dari keluarga dan tempat kerja dianggap berpengaruh bagi kesejateraan ibu, belum banyak peneliti yang mengkaji hubungan antara keduanya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perceived social support dengan psychological well- being pada ibu bekerja di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif noneksperimental dan jenis penelitian korelasional. Sampel sebanyak 617 ibu bekerja di Indonesia diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan melibatkan Psychological Well-Being Scale (PWBS) oleh Ryff dan Social Provision Scale (SPS) oleh Cutrona dan Russell. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagian besar responden memiliki psychological well-being dan perceived social support pada tingkat tinggi. Uji korelasi Spearman menegaskan hubungan positif yang kuat dan signifikan antara perceived social support dan psychological well- being ibu bekerja (r = .654, p < .01). Temuan ini menjelaskan pentingnya faktor perceived social support dalam meningkatkan psychological well-being ibu pekerja.

Abstract

  Caregivers of people with dementia (ODD) are often associated with heavy emotional, physical, and social burdens. However, several studies have shown that caregivers can also find positive meaning in the experience through the process of seeking meaning. This study aims to explore the positive aspects experienced by caregivers and the meanings formed during the caregiving process of individuals with dementia (ODD) through qualitative methods using a descriptive phenomenological approach. Eleven participants participated in a seven-day writing intervention involving seeking meaning. Data were analyzed using reflective thematic analysis. The results identified six main themes: (1) personal growth, (2) spiritual growth, (3) strengthening relationships, (4) appreciation for life, (5) meaning in the caregiving process, and (6) increased competence and mastery of caregiving skills. These findings suggest that reflective writing can facilitate the process of constructing positive meaning in the caregiving experience. Although some participants indicated limitations in writing, the writing intervention, based on seeking meaning, still holds potential as a simple, cost-effective, and flexible approach that can be delivered from anywhere. However, its comfort can be enhanced through combination with individual or group mentoring, tailored to the preferences of families caring for individuals with ODD.

Abstract

Romantic relationship breakups among emerging adults are often described as unpleasant, painful, or stressful. During these stressful periods, emerging adults may engage in rumination that could prolong the stress, while also engaging in different strategies to cope with their condition. This study aims to determine the relationship between rumination and coping strategies used by emerging adults in dealing with breakups in romantic relationships. As many as 141 participants were recruited by using convenience sampling for this study. The measuring tools used are the Ruminative Response Scale RRS-10) and the Brief COPE which has been adapted to Bahasa Indonesia. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between rumination and problem-focused coping strategies and there was a positive relationship between rumination and dysfunctional coping strategies. It is also found that different types of rumination are correlated with different coping strategies in emerging adults who have gone through romantic breakups. This study has practical implications for the development of interventions to overcome relationship breakups.
