Abstract

Not many western genre films are made in the film industry, because of not many ideas can be explored. The Dance With Wolves film is a western genre film and is not made as a religious film. This film also does not intend to include Islamic principles. The most interesting is that this western genre film was made with high imagination and creativity. By using the theory of genre from Branston and Stanford, it was then studied further through the concept and living rules ​​in the Al-Qur'an and Hadith. The results of this study illustrated a struggle (jihad) in the elements of the story (repertoires of elements) that united and inspired feelings. Also in the verisimilitude genre theory, a statement of belief (ilmul yaqin) raised in the truth of Allah's creation. Furthermore, through the cultural context theory, it could be seen that at-tamaddun exists.

Abstract

The JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) agreement, also known as the Iranian nuclear agreement, was officially agreed in 2015 in Vienna, Austria and signed by Iran with the Permanent Member States of the UN Security Council plus Germany and the EU. In contrast to his predecessor, in 2018 President Donald Trump declared that the United States was leaving JCPOA membership. This action drew public criticism and was deemed inappropriate in relation to the impact of Iran's increasing nuclear weapons development activities. So, Joe Biden in the 2020 general election campaign stated that he would restore the United States' membership with the Iran nuclear deal if elected. The purpose of this research is to find out the impact of Trump's decision to release the United States from membership in the JCPOA, how important the presence of the JCPOA is to maintain international nuclear peace, how Biden's efforts to restore the conflict between the United States and Iran, analyze the differences in the leadership styles of the two presidents from different parties. The research method used in this paper is a literature study by examining various journals, scientific papers, and the latest news on the United States presidency.

Abstract

This study aims to get an overview of the development of Islamic Preaching through smartphones in the digital era. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenology design. This study examined the phenomenon of the booming of Preaching content on social media since Preaching through social media is currently in demand, as indicated by the emergence of a large number of the preacher, especially in Indonesia. The experience and motive of such phenomenon became the basis of this study’s analysis using phenomenological methods and Alfred Schutz’s theory. The results demonstrated a change in the Preaching of the preacher. The spirit of delivering Preaching (through writings) is based on two types of motives. First, individuals are eager (to) receive a blessing from Allah and be ‘ghirah.’ Second, the convenience and facilities available in smartphone technology have triggered the development of social media platforms that eventually support the delivery of Preaching.

Abstract

The term "hijrah" is currently one of the models of religious expression that is trending in some urban youth. Hijrah is seen as a process of someone making a spiritual and religious leap. The "Terang Jakarta" (TJ) Community is one of the "hijrah" communities of the younger generation in Indonesia. TJ facilitates its community in a variety of Islamic study activities that are packaged in a structured, interesting, and up-to-date manner. So that in the TJ community, studying religion becomes fun or popular. This study wants to see how the religious expression of the TJ community is from the perspective of popular culture. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with an interpretive and naturalistic approach. The theory used is Emile Durkheim's religious expression and the theory of popular culture by Dominic Strineti. The results of this study indicate that the "hijrah" with all its supporting attributes which has been a trend is one of the religious expressions shown by the TJ community who adopted popular culture. The popular culture which is identical to something trendy, phenomenal, boisterous, hits, present, seems to lead to the expressions that exist in the management, members, and worshipers as well as various activities of the TJ community. Found many characteristics of popular culture adopted by this TJ community, so that the phenomenon of "hijrah" in this community can be said as part of popular culture.
