Abstract

PLTS converts electromagnetic energy from sunlight into electrical energy. On-Grid PLTS Design at the Civil Service Police Office of Ende Regency generates 7 kWp of power, with 35 panels used, each with a capacity of 200 Wp. The triangular roof area is 44m2. The inverter used is 1 unit with a capacity of 4 kW. The purpose of this study is to reduce the use of conventional PLN energy to meet energy needs at the Civil Service Police Station, Ende Regency. This plan requires a cost of Rp. 130.935.000. From the average daily load requirement of 35302 W/h, this plan produces 34450 W/h to meet 97% of the needs of the Ende District Civil Service Police Station.

Abstract

This work study voltage correction using capacitor banks on PLN’s network distribution with medium voltage consumer of PT. Panca Agung Sejati. Voltage drop into PT. Panca Agung Sejati network in operation condition is 17.87 kV, it mean happened voltage drop in persentage of 10.65. That is not apropriate to the SPLN 72:1987 standard, that is+ 5%. While, voltage drop on the network of the company is still in the range of SPLN standard when it is not on operation by 19.67 kV (1.65%). Then, efforting to improve the voltage drop the PT. PLN (Persero) has installed capacitor banks on the network at PT. Panca Agung Sejati with a total capacity are 3 x 400 kVAR. This research simulates using ETAP 16.0 software to find out whether the capacitors are still effective for load growth in the next 10 years. Simulation result with the capacitors installed of 3 x 400 kVAR is 19.15 kV (4.25%) that is mean it has already in the range of SPLN standard. For load growth until year of 2030 will be needed five capacitors in capacity of 400 kVAR (5 x 400 kVAR) to correcting the occurred voltage drop.

Abstract

In high education, scientific journal has an important role in advancing the development of sciences as well as career development for researchers and academics. For the academics community (lecturer, researcher, and student), of course they have to do research. After research finished, and then it will be finished to do a research report. The research report has varying forms. For lecturer research it is usually in the form of a research report, while research report as an end product from every high education level, it can be a thesis, or dissertation. For widely publication of a result of research, a research report can be made in a article that it can be published in reputable scientific journal both nasionally and internationally. But generally, most academics community do not / have not thought about doing research and then the results of their research are written and published in the form of a journal. It is right that several difficulties that faced akademics community in writing a scientific journal such as lazy, don’t know (there is no idea) about what will be written, there is a idea but don’t know how to start it, and various other reason. Therefore, various obstacles, and difficulties they faced in writing a scientific journal, the team of community services (PKM) of Electrical Engineering, STT PLN Jakarta offer a solution i.e workshop in writing scientific journal through community service activities. This workshop has been carried out due to cooperation with our partner that is Machanical Engineering Department, Engineering Faculity, Brawijaya University. Our partner Brawijaya University prepared participants and workshop venue. The implementation of this workshop in writing scientific journal received a very good response from the participants and provide motivation to them to do research which is then published in the form of scientific journal articles.

Abstract

Sampah merupakan permasalahan yang dihadapi baik kota besar maupun kota-kota pinggiran bahkan pedesaan pun mengalami permasalahan sampah ini. Pada pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh tim PKM dosen teknik elektro STT PLN Jakarta mengambil kegiatan sosialisasi pengolahan sampah menjadi energi listrik yang akan dilaksanakan di Desa Sukawali, Kecamatan Pakuhaji, Tangerang, Banten. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk ceramah dan presentasi yang pesertanya berkisar 30 -40 peserta yang terdiri perangkat kelurahan, ketua-ketua RW dan pengurus, ketua-ketua RT dan pengurus dan masyarakat undangan. Sosialisasi ini akan memberikan solusi permasalah sampah yang ada di Desa Sukawali, dan umumnya di Kota Tangerang. Solusi yang ditawarkan pada sosialisasi ini adalah bagaimana sampah diolah menjadi energi dengan melalui tahapan proses gasifikasi dan briketisasi

Abstract

The electrical installation is a circuit of electrical equipment which is interconnected with one another and it is within the scope of the electrical power system. This article is to present the result of social community service (PkM) activity at Boarding School of STP SMP/SMA KU Sumedang, that shows an electrical installation design of multi-storey building. In construction of multi-storey building of this boarding school, they do not have an electrical installation design. So, the design in this article is to provide design drawings of the electrical installation, so it could be guidance of setting up of electrical installation for the new boarding school building. So that, they got the electrical installation safely for human and the equipment, as well reliable and comfort during using electricity. The design drawings that resulted from the social community service are drawings of front look, beside look, wiring, and single line diagram (SLD). Also, resulted total power calculation, protection, and capacity (rating) of MCB, and calculated cable rating (KHA), choosing type and cross-sectional area of cables that will be used in electrical installation design for the boarding school building.

Abstract

Substation is part of the electric power system that distributes electrical energy from the generator to the load. It is necessary to ensure safety and security guarantees for the installed equipment and humans at the substation. This research discusses the results of measuring grounding resistance on equipment in the switchyard with quantitative methods based on the results of measuring equipment grounding resistance, step voltage, touch voltage. The quantitative method is based on the quality of the equipment grounding resistance at the Angke Substation switchyard. The value of the equipment grounding resistance at the substation must be able to meet the IEEE Std standard 80 – 2000 that is < 1 ?. The smaller the grounding value obtained, the better of the grounding. Based on the results of this study, the value of the grounding resistance of the Angke Substation is 0,13 V. The value of the touch voltage is 651.55 V for humans weighing 70 kg and 481.4 V for humans weighing 50 kg. With the value of the permissible touch voltage is 626 V. The step voltage value is 2135.2 V for a human weighing 70 kg, and 1577.6 V for a human weighing 50 kg. With a permissible step voltage value of 2216 V.

Abstract

Environmental damage can be caused by an imbalance of the earth’ constituent elements, which one of the elements is scarcity of clean water in the earth. Dearth of clean water is predicted that will be experienced more than a half of word population of nine million of human being in 2050. The phenomenon of the scarcity of the clean water has been occurred especially in Indonesia that it is a country which has six percent of the potential of the clean water, but in fact it shows the need of the clean water of Indonesia population are still not enough. The dearth of the clean water needs to get serious attention from all stake holder, included people in the boarding school. An effort to decrease the scarcity of the clean water rate is by behaving frugally in using the clean water. To do that need to do socialization massively to the people and it require a long time. Therefore, beside the socialization massively, engineering to decrease the flow rate in using the clean water through the valves that is by applicating flow control method. This simple technology of flow control application, the community service team and Nurul Haramain boarding school located in Kampung Saitem, Ciburayut, Cigombong, Bogor, West Java are collaborated. A measurement result of flow rate before the flow restrictor is applicated in the valve is 7.76 liter/minute and after applicated decrease to 1.13 litter/minute. Percentage of decreasing is to reach 83 percent.
