Abstract

The primary objectives of this study were (1) to identify the types of errors made by third-semester students in the use of noun phrases and (2) to determine the most frequently occurring error type. To achieve these objectives, a descriptive qualitative research design was employed. Data were collected using two types of assessments: multiple-choice questions and essay writing tasks. These instruments were designed to elicit various forms of noun phrase usage to allow for a comprehensive analysis of student performance. Based on the data analysis, four main types of grammatical errors were identified (1) omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. Among these, misformation errors were found to be the most prevalent. This suggests that while students may understand the general structure of noun phrases, they struggle with selecting the correct grammatical forms, such as appropriate determiners, pluralization, or adjective-noun order. The high frequency of misformation errors may stem from several interrelated factors, including interference from the students' first language, insufficient grammatical instruction, and limited exposure to authentic English usage

Abstract

Penelitian ini tergolong dalam jenis pra-eksperimen dengan tujuan mengkaji efektifitas penerapan model pembelajaran Probing Prompting untuk pembelajaran matematika peserta didik kelas IX MTs. DDI Soni. Populasi penelitian mencakup seluruh peserta didik kelas IX MTs. DDI Soni di semester genap tahun ajaran 2023/2024, dengan satu kelas yang diambil selaku sampel dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Analisis data penelitian dibuat menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan inferensial. Secara deskriptif, data penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa rata-rata skor hasil belajar peserta didik mencapai 80,85 dengan tingkat penyebaran data (standar deviasi) sebesar 7,962. dari skor maksimum 100. Nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar individu berada dalam kategori tinggi, sedangkan secara klasikal ketuntasan hasi belajar mencapai 80%. kemudian, ada peningkatan signifikansi terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik, yang ditunjukkan oleh rata-rata gain ternormalisasi dalam kategori tinggi. Dari uji one sample T-test, nilai mean post-test berbeda secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal. Sehingga, dapat diberi kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model Probing Prompting efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas IX MTs. DDI Soni, khususnya dalam materi persamaan kuadrat.

Abstract

The research was aimed to find out the lack of student vocabulary in learning English. Type of research is quantitative using a pre-experimental design one group pre test and post test. The independent variable is a guessing game. The population of research is 26 students; the sampling was total sampling technique. The results of this research show that there is an increase in students' voabulary and this can be seen from the average post-test score of 76.08, which is greater than the pre-test score of 64. Even the significance level is 0.05 and df=25, and the t-count = 8.63 and t-table = 2.06 so that we get t-count > t-table (8.63 > 2.06) which shows that students' vocabulary is significantly better after receiving treatment and the Null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It can be concluded that guessing games can increasing the skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Dampal Selatan.
