Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the outdoor learning method on student motivation in the Museology course of the History Education Study Program at the IKIP PGRI Pontianak. This research method used is experimental, with a research design that is Quasi experimental. The experimental class is A and the control class is B. The location is on the IKIP PGRI Pontianak campus. Data collection techniques with learning motivation questionnaires, observation sheets and documentation. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics, parametric statistical tests, and used the Effect Size formula. The results of this study are 1. The average learning motivation of students who are not taught using the History Education laboratory is 66.33 which is classified as sufficient. 2. The average learning motivation of students who are taught or the experimental class using the outdoor learning method is 77.42 which is classified as good. 3. There is a significant difference in the average learning motivation of students in the control class and students in the experimental class. 4. Based on the calculation using the effect size obtained Es 80, or Es = 0.55, it can be concluded that the use of the outdoor learning method on learning motivation in Museology courses is classified as moderate.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sejarah saat ini masih cenderung berfokus pada hafalan dan belum optimal dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai esensial. Meskipun pembelajaran sejarah nasional berupaya memupuk semangat nasionalisme, pentingnya aspek kelokalan juga harus diperhatikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang model pembelajaran sejarah berbasis nilai tradisi dan sejarah lokal untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai-nilai lokal, cinta tanah air, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development) dengan model ADDIE, yang melibatkan tahap analisis, desain, development, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri Kabupaten Sambas dengan melibatkan wawancara, angket, studi pustaka, dan observasi untuk menentukan kebutuhan siswa dan sekolah. Model ini memperkenalkan nilai-nilai tradisi sebagai bagian penting dari pembelajaran sejarah lokal, yang diharapkan dapat memperkaya pengalaman belajar siswa, memperkuat identitas budaya, dan merangsang kebanggaan terhadap warisan sejarah. Tantangan rancangan model ini mencakup pengembangan kurikulum yang sesuai dan kolaborasi dengan komunitas lokal, sementara guru perlu meningkatkan kreativitas dan mendapatkan pelatihan tentang nilai-nilai tradisi. Kelebihan model ini termasuk peningkatan pemahaman siswa tentang nilai lokal, cinta tanah air, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis, menjadikannya efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Tahap Development, Implementasi, dan Evaluasi akan dilanjutkan pada penelitian tahun kedua.

Abstract

This research addresses the lack of contextual historical learning materials that incorporate local culture, which often leads to students' low interest and limited understanding of regional history. Therefore, the study aims to develop a valid and effective history learning module based on traditional values and local wisdom of Sambas Regency. Using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model, the study involved validation by 3 material and media experts, followed by a limited trial on 35 eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Sambas. The validation results showed a high level of validity with an average score of 93.03%. Effectiveness testing was conducted using the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) method, resulting in a score of 0.61, categorized as medium effectiveness based on Hake's (1999) criteria. The module integrates traditional values such as  saprahan,  tepung tawar, and Sambas Malay poetry to make history learning more engaging and locally relevant. The findings show that the module increases student participation and understanding of regional history. Therefore, it is recommended as a meaningful teaching alternative that also supports cultural preservation. Further improvements are needed to enhance interactivity and digital integration.

Abstract

Instagram has emerged as a vital platform for wildlife conservation campaigns, offering broad reach and visual interactivity. This study aims to map and analyse the interaction patterns, user engagement, and social structure surrounding the @save_the_malayan_tigers Instagram accounts. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach using Social Network Analysis (SNA) with NodeXL Pro. Data were collected from 500 recent posts and 100 comments per post. The findings revealed a highly centralised network with the main account acting as a dominant hub in a star-shaped network structure. Several secondary nodes from media, conservation communities, and government accounts extended the campaign to segmented audiences. However, engagement patterns remain largely one-directional, with minimal horizontal interaction. These insights provided strategic recommendations to enhance participatory communication, especially for Generation Z audiences, and emphasise the importance of influencer collaboration and interactive digital features. This study reinforced the role of SNA as a powerful tool for evaluating and improving digital conservation strategies in the social media era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai tradisi masyarakat Sambas dalam pembelajaran sejarah untuk membuat materi pembelajaran lebih relevan dan bermakna. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi di Kabupaten Sambas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai tradisi, seperti nilai religius, sosial, pendidikan, ekonomi, dan ekologis dalam masyarakat Sambas memainkan peran penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan dapat diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran sejarah untuk memperkaya konteks budaya. Pembahasan menyoroti bagaimana tradisi seperti "Majlis Adat" dan "Pantang Larang" dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengajarkan sejarah lokal dengan cara yang lebih mendalam dan relevan. Dengan pendekatan ini, siswa tidak hanya memperoleh pengetahuan sejarah, tetapi juga menghargai nilai-nilai budaya yang mendasari praktik sosial dan adat di masyarakat mereka. Integrasi nilai-nilai tradisi dalam pembelajaran sejarah berpotensi meningkatkan efektivitas pendidikan sejarah dan memperkuat identitas budaya siswa, meskipun terdapat hambatan seperti keterbatasan sumber daya dan pelatihan guru. Dukungan berkelanjutan dari pemerintah dan komunitas sangat diperlukan untuk mengatasi hambatan ini dan memastikan keberhasilan penerapannya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in detail the traditions that are still developing and identify the values of local wisdom contained in the traditions of the Sambas community and their existence. the method used in this research is qualitative research, the research location is in Sambas Regency, the research subject is the Sambas community who still carries out the tradition. The tradition of white flour and saprahan is the identity of the Sambas community which has been passed down from generation to generation until now because we can see it because it has a philosophical meaning and is considered to have positive values in society. The values of local wisdom contained in the plain flour and saprahan traditions such as religious values and social values, the existence of the plain flour and saprahan traditions in the Sambas Malay community have become a must to be implemented by every Sambas Malay community. This is because it is considered that the tradition has become a cultural heritage that deserves to be preserved and maintained as well as an inherent pride in the Sambas community.

Abstract

The Indonesia-Malaysia border region faces educational challenges in the form of limited learning resources, low digital literacy, and lack of pedagogical innovation. This research aims to develop and evaluate generative AI-assisted Ethno-STEM teaching materials based on Dayak and Malay local wisdom to increase student engagement and creativity. The research uses a mixed methods design with a sequential exploratory model. The qualitative phase was carried out through interviews and observations to explore local wisdom, followed by the preparation of Ethno-STEM-based modules with the integration of AI interactive media, and the quantitative phase involved a limited trial of 30 students of class X and 3 science teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Sajingan Besar. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-gain calculations. The results showed that the modules were positively rated by students, with 87% stating that they agreed or strongly agreed on the aspects of attractiveness, cultural relevance, and ease of use. The improvement in learning outcomes was also significant, indicated by an average N-gain of 0.91 (high category). The recapitulation of student creativity showed achievements in the category of quite creative, with elaboration obtaining the highest score (55.8%). These findings confirm that the integration of Ethno-STEM and generative AI not only improves conceptual understanding, but also fosters students' critical-creative thinking skills, and is worthy of being recommended for schools in border areas.
