Abstract

The energy consumption of a compression refrigeration system depends the ability of the condenser to release heat. Improved condenser design can make a significant contribu-tion to increase the heat removal in the condenser that in turn reduces the energy con-sumption. This paper presents, firstly the optimization design of a condenser with the objective to estimate the minimum dimension required for a given heat duty, and se-condly the prediction of the condenser performance when it is first placed in service. Vari-ous design variables such as tube diameter, pitch ratio, tube layout, and fouling factor are considered. Simultance optimization of these variables was tried and 9 design configu-rations have been experimented. The effect of the design variables and its constraints on the number of tubes required for the condenser are discussed. The results showed that the design conditions that give the minimum number of tube of 187 will be at tube diame-ter 1.5 inch, tube layout 30o, pitch ratio 1.25, and excess area 1.25.  The results of the performance calculations showed that when the condenser is first placed in service its performance is beyond the design conditions. The condenser performance will attain its design conditions when the fouling factor approachs the value that was selected at the design stage.

Abstract

A strategy that will be successful in banking industries is to offer higher service quality to customer that occurs in the performance of the service itself. The aims of this research are: first, to examinethe simultaneous and partial significant effect between service quality and customer satisfaction of syariah bank in Bengkulu, and to analyze the dominant variable of service quality that affects customer satisfactionof syariah bank in Bengkulu as well. Convenience sampling and Accidental Sampling are used in data collection then the data are multiple linier regression. The findings of this study are: first, service qualityvariable has a positive simultanears and partial significant effect influencing customer satisfication of syariah banking in Bengkulu. This study also finds that Reliability variable is the dominant factor affecting customer satisfaction of syariah banking in Bengkulu; this means customer of syariah banks in Bengkulu views that reliability (banking staff competency) is the main indicator of service quality of syariah banks in Bengkulu. This findings give an important implication and recomendation to syariah banks in Bengkulu;syairah banks in Bengkulu should maintain and sustain reliability variable in order to increase customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Lynde Type-A (LTA) zeolite as being molecular sieve and hydrophilic zeolite is used to dehydrate water in the purification of bioethanol. LTA zeolite from LNZ has a small surface area of 29,62 m2/g. Adding HCl activators to LTA Zeolite from LNZ was carried out to increase the surface area of LTA zeolite. The activation of LTA zeolite was carried through in a closed erlemeyer with various HCl concentration: 10% w/w, 15 % w/w, and 20% w/w and the ratio acid/LTA zeolite was 10 ml: 1 gram. The XRD analysis showed that the structure of LTA zeolite activated does not change despite the process of activation, and the highest percentage of crystallinity was obtained at 68.25% wt by concentration of HCl at 20 % w/w. The result of XRF analysis showed that the highest of impurity removal and the highest of decreasing ratio of Si/Al was in the LTA zeolite activated by HCl 20% w/w. The result of BET analysis showed the largest surface area at 45.67 m2/g obtained by adding 10% w/w of HCl activator, which was 45.67 m2/g, and the size of zeolites pore volume was 0.027 cc/g. The result performance of LTA zeolite activated obtained the highest purity of bioethanol by 99.74 % v/v at HCl concentration 20% w/w.
