Abstract

Developments in road construction and repair are currently increasing in number. The length of roads in Indonesia in 2020 according to the level of authority is 548,366 km (Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing; Prov / City Government Public Works Office). To support the smooth running of daily community activities, roads can connect one region to another. This study aims to determine how the effect of using nickel slag as a substitute for aggregate with nickel slag levels of 0%, 10%, 40% and 70% on the characteristics of the intermediate layer (AC-BC) by testing material and marshall characteristics. The results obtained from this study indicate that the use of nickel slag as an aggregate substitute meets the specifications of LFA class A. Through the marshall test referring to the 2018 bina marga general specifications, the ideal proportion of nickel slag addition to asphalt concrete mixtures is obtained based on the highest stability value in each mixture proportion that meets all the characteristics of the marshall mixture according to the 2018 bina marga general specifications Division 6 for the type of mixture of Asphalt Concrete Layer (Laston) Layer Between (AC-BC), namely at 70% slag contentwith 5.5% asphalt content with a stability value of 1098.30 kg. Where from the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of nickel slag as a substitute for aggregate can be utilized as a road pavement material because it meets the Bina Marga Standard Specifications.

Abstract

The Covid-19 Handling Task Force together with government officials, have announced the release of the Circular of the Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force No. 13 of 2021 concerning the elimination of homecoming during the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri during 6 - 17 May 2021. This policy aims to anticipate a surge in the flow of domestic tourists which can protect the public from the transmission of the covid-19 virus. This research was conducted to determine traffic performance on the three main roads of Cilegon City during the homecoming control period. From the data from the survey conducted for three days, an analysis of the traffic movements that occurred and the level of road service was carried out by calculating the degree of saturation (DJ) and free flow speed. The results showed that the highest movement occurred on weekdays with the highest vehicle volume of 4429 vehicles, with the highest destination occurring in the direction of the city of Serang and the highest type of vehicle being a motorcycle, then for the average Degree of Saturation of the three main roads of Cilegon City by 0,46 and an average free flow speed of 50.75 km/hour, so that it can be concluded that the level of service for the three main roads of the city of Cilegon is in category A, namely good service conditions where vehicles can run smoothly even though they are sometimes hampered by low traffic volume and density. This is because there are roadblocks that limit people's movements and reduce the volume of vehicles.

Abstract

The increase in development growth throughout the world every year is directly proportional to the increase in demand for construction materials. To overcome the very limited sources of natural materials, alternative materials are needed as substitutes for construction materials. Utilizing nickel slag waste as an alternative material to replace natural aggregate in order to reduce the extraction of excess natural aggregate and preserve limited natural resources. The purpose of this study was to determine the Marshall characteristics and ideal composition for using nickel slag as a substitute for aggregate in worncoated asphalt concrete (AC-WC) mixtures. The test specimens used were a mixture of worn coated asphalt concrete (AC-WC) with variations in nickel slag content, namely 0%, 10%, 40% and 70% and optimum asphalt content (KAO) respectively of 5.5%; 6%; 5.5%; and 5%. Based on the results of study that has been carried out, the optimum stability value was obtained at 1087.38 kg at a nickel slag content of 70% with an optimum asphalt content (KAO) of 5%. This value is greater than the stability value obtained at a nickel slag content of 0% with an asphalt content. optimum 5.5%, namely 1034.39 kg. From these results it can be concluded that nickel slag can improve the performance of worn coated asphalt concrete (AC-WC) mixtures and the ideal composition of nickel slag is at a nickel slag content of 70% with an optimum asphalt content (KAO) of 5%.

Abstract

PT Nikomas Gemilang area is a highly active zone. Besides being an industrial area with heavy traffic, the location has market activities with many pedestrians crossing the road, causing traffic disruptions. This research discusses the performance of a road in providing service to the traffic flow occurring on the road, analyzes the problems that hinder traffic on a section of the road, and seeks solutions to the traffic hindrances. This research aims to determine the level of service (LOS) of the road and the type of pedestrian crossing facility needs. The research uses the PKJI 2023 reference standards and the Bina Marga Guidelines of the Minister of Public Works Regulation (Permen PU) No: 02/SE/M/2018. The results of this study obtained the performance of the segment on Jalan Raya Serang, in front of the PT Nikomas Gemilang area, Kibin District, where the saturation degree on Side A was 0,70, and on Side B was 0,69 with a level of service (LOS) of C. Therefore, a future road performance estimation was conducted. The road performance feasibility for the next 2 years (2026) was obtained with an estimated saturation degree on both sides of the road of 0,82 (approaching critical). Then, the need for a type of crossing facility on Jalan Raya Serang was determined with a road type of 4/2-TT and a P value of 596 people/hour, V value of 9554 vehicles/hour, and a PV2 value of 5,44×1010, leading to the conclusion that the type of crossing facility needed is a pelican cross.

Abstract

Campus C of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University does not yet have adequate pedestrian facilities and crossing facilities at the main gate are not yet available so that the analysis of pedestrian facilities and crossing facilities is carried out with the aim of knowing the types of pedestrian facilities and road crossing facilities needed and making pedestrian facility designs that use the concept of active living. Campus C of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is located on Jalan Ciwaru Raya No. 25, Cipare, Serang City. Data collection was conducted using direct observation method. The data collected included pedestrian volume, traffic volume, crosswalk volume, and road geometric data. The results showed that the recommended crossing facility for segment 1 on Jalan Ki Ajurum No. 2 is a zebra crossing with waiting stalls with a maximum PV2 result of 1748717534 (1 × 109). While for segment 2 on Jalan Ciwaru Raya No. 25 is a zebra crossing with a maximum PV2 result of 1615465208 (1 × 109). The recommended effective width of sidewalks within Campus C of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University is divided into 2 sizes, namely 2 meters and 2.5 meters. Complementary facilities that support the concept of active living that can be recommended are by providing seating, lighting, shading in the form of trees, trash bins, drinking water taps at several points, and special paths for people with disabilities.
