Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berjudul “Eksistensi Kesenian Angklung Betot di Kampung Kalapadua Desa Margaluyu Kecamatan Manonjaya”. Angklung Betot ini adalah kesenian yang tumbuh dan berkembang di Kampung Kalapadua Desa Margaluyu Kecamatan Manonjaya Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Angklung Betot ini diwariskan secara turun temurun dari generasi ke generasi. Kesenian Angklung Betot sering digelar untuk acara arak-arakkan, khitanan, penyambutan, bahkan acara-acara penting lainnya. Maka dari itu peneliti membatasi permasalahan pada penelitian dari melalui beberapa rumusan masalah yakni meliputi: (1) bagaimana bentuk kesenian Angklung Betot di Kampung Kalapadua Desa Margaluyu Kecamatan Manonjaya Kabupaten Tasikmalaya, (2) bagaimana upaya pelestarian kesenian Angklung Betot di Kampung Kalapadua Desa Margaluyu Kecamatan Manonjaya Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk kesenian Angklung Betot di Kampung Kalapadua Desa Margaluyu Kecamatan Manonjaya Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. (2) Untuk mendeskripsikan upaya pelestararian kesenian Angklung Betot di Kampung Kalapadua Desa Margaluyu Kecamatan Manonjaya Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah Teknik observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi Pustaka. Kata Kunci: Eksistensi, Kesenian, Angklung Betot.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the pentatonic scale on electric guitar as a mandatory scale in music extracurricular activities at SMK YPC Tasikmalaya. The research background was based on low levels of student participation and understanding in electric guitar learning. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach, involving students participating in music extracurricular activities for the 2024/2025 academic year. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature study. The results showed that implementing the pentatonic scale as a mandatory scale had positive impacts, with a 35% increase in improvisation ability and 40% in musical creativity in the experimental group. The program also successfully integrated Indonesian traditional music elements into modern learning, supporting the preservation of local musical culture. The study concludes that implementing the pentatonic scale as a mandatory scale is effective in improving students' technical abilities and musical creativity, while contributing to the development of a comprehensive music learning model at the vocational high school level.

Abstract

Tari Nyalawena merupakan seni pertunjukan tradisional asal Kabupaten Cianjur yang terinspirasi dari tradisi menangkap ikan impun oleh masyarakat pesisir. Tarian ini sarat nilai budaya, namun kini mulai jarang ditampilkan dan kurang dikenal generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji sejarah Tari Nyalawena, permasalahan yang menyebabkan penurunannya, serta merumuskan strategi revitalisasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kurangnya regenerasi dan dokumentasi menjadi kendala utama. Revitalisasi melalui edukasi, pelatihan seni, dan promosi digital sangat diperlukan agar warisan budaya ini tetap lestari.

Abstract

Lontang Dance is a traditional Sundanese art form that developed in Purwaraja Village, Ciamis Regency, and functions as a medium for spiritual and social communication within the community. This study analyzes the symbolic meaning of Lontang Dance through the perspective of symbolic interactionism developed by George Herbert Mead and Herbert Blumer. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, the study involved participant observation (n=32 participants), in-depth interviews with traditional figures and artists, and visual documentation. The analysis shows that cultural symbols such as the tray, seeng, and ibing movements in Lontang Dance are constructed through a dynamic and ongoing process of social interaction within the community. These symbolic meanings undergo modification and negotiation to maintain religious relevance without eliminating local cultural identity. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of how cultural realities are constructed through human interaction and emphasize the importance of local cultural preservation in the context of modernization. This research opens new perspectives in the study of symbolic anthropology and local culture-based arts education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning process of Gondang Anak art at the Damar Wulan Art Studio in Parumasan Village, Sodonghilir District, and analyze how these activities play a role in shaping children's character. Gondang art, as an agrarian cultural heritage of the Sundanese people, has strong social and spiritual values, such as mutual cooperation, discipline, responsibility, and togetherness. In a modern context, the involvement of children in Gondang activities at the Damar Wulan Studio is a strategic effort to preserve local culture while instilling positive character values ​​from an early age. The research method used is a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of the studio leaders, trainers, and children participating in the activities. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the Gondang learning process is carried out in stages through imitation and repetition methods, where the trainer provides direct examples that the children then follow. This activity not only improves musical skills but also fosters character traits of discipline, cooperation, self-confidence, responsibility, and social awareness. Changes in children's behavior are evident in increased time discipline, ability to work in groups, and courage to perform in public. Thus, Gondang Anak art has proven effective as a medium for character education based on local culture. This activity not only preserves traditional Sundanese art but also strengthens the cultural and moral identity of the younger generation amidst the current of globalization.
